About Lee

We live in Atlanta but have two vacation rentals in Monroe County Tennessee catering to adventurous folks, like us, are looking for seclusion and solitude in the Cherokee National Forest and the cool mountain air. hemlockgrovedotcom.

Lee purchased this cabin in 2005

Why Lee chose Tennessee

We own a cabin nearby. We purchased the vacation rentals because of their location and to help promote the forest, mountain and lake scenery of Monroe Country Tennessee.

What makes this cabin unique

Gorgeous views. Light, spacious house. Restful setting. Clean and comfortable! Great motorcycling, hiking, mountain biking, boating, fishing or just plain old relaxing. Bountiful birds and wildlife. Free wifi and long distance telephone through Magic Jack. Garage to store kayaks, bikes, motorcycles, canoes, boats etc.

Guestbook comments from the owner

THANK YOU FOR A WONDERFUL STAY!!!

We are so extremely happy that we found this house! With it being big enoughf for all of us (3 grown ups and 4 children), clean like my own home (and I'm a little of a neat-freak), very welcoming and with a very well kept yard for the children to play in, this vacation rental is the best we have stayed at! The area was really good too and though it takes a little drive to get to a store, the calmness is so worth it. We will definitly come back next time we go to TN, absolutly positivly no doubt about that!

!!!!!HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!

Really nice house!

  • 5 of 5

This was a really nice, large, comfortable and peaceful house. Neighbors were extremely nice and helpful. The owners really thought of everything to include in this property. We met with other family members to ride motorcycles on the Tail of the Dragon. It is a bit far out but we came to ride so it wasn't a problem for us. Sloans Market in Vonore has everything you need. The location is easy day trips to all the sights. If you are coming to fish, then this is the place to be. We enjoyed out stay very much. Very beautiful country. PS: The only caution I would say is not to go past the swimming area to the left just past the dam, as it turns into a small, gravel off-road trail with no where to turn around.

Last minute in October

  • 5 of 5

We waited really late to get reservations in Gatlinburg, but found this at the last minute. It's very quiet and off the beaten track. It worked well for us to go out on day trips and come back to in the evening. Very clean and comfortable with everything we needed. My husband enjoyed playing his banjo on the porch without bothering anyone. Lee was very helpful with directions and tips for the house and navigating the surrounding area. There is plenty of room for a large family or group to spread out in. We appreciate them letting us stay there on such short notice.

Owner's Response: Kema, Thanks for the great review and for leaving Lakewood in such nice condition. We are very pleased you enjoyed your stay and found that the "quiet" side of the Smoky Mountains offers a nice alternative to Gatlinburg! Please come back anytime and enjoy the other seasons. - Lee

A Home Away from Home

  • 5 of 5

The home is well taken care of, clean and complete with everything (except food). 3 bedrooms, living room, complete kitchen, laundry room, garage, phone, internet, DirecTV means you'll have all the luxuries and conveniences of home. There is even a nice, large deck outback with grill for those late night hangouts. The garage is a bonus if you have bikes.

When you exit the driveway...turn left and about a mile down is a place to swim. It's a private area with a place to park. There is plenty of sightseeing, boating, swimming, fishing areas as well as The Dragon for motorcyclists.

If there is one minor inconvenience..it's the fact that the closest store is 16 miles. Suggestion.....load up.

Lee is exceptional to work with and his attention to detail is unsurpassed.

Highly Recommend!

Excellent home away from home

  • 5 of 5

Our group of three motorcyclists take a trip out to this area every year. Normally, we stay in hotels for the 3-4 nights we are in town. This time however, we decided to stay a longer time and felt like this property was the best bang for the buck.

Lee was a pleasure to deal with as we discussed our trip with him. We explained we would be coming in with a truck and a trailer and this property was an excellent fit for our needs. We had a slight hiccup upon arrival with the water, but a quick phone call over to Lee and we were up and running no problem.

The house is supplied with ample amenities such as towels, sheets, silverware, etc. We enjoyed the ability to cook a home cooked meal instead of the usual fast food or dine in every night.

The area is very remote and that is just what we were looking for. The house does have Internet, landline telephones, and a TV with a satellite package. Verizon cell coverage was spotty at best, but that's not a negative when you are on a vacation! The nearest town was about 20-30 minutes away and had full cell coverage, gas station, supermarket, etc.

Overall this was a great place to stay and a pleasure dealing with the property owners. I would recommend staying at this property to a friend as well as dealing with the property owners.
