Our landlady, Rosalba, thought of absolutely everything to welcome us and provide us with a comfortable stay, including a bottle of wine. The apartment was conveniently close to the metro, and Rosalba suggested some excellent restaurants nearby. We would strongly recommend this apartment.
We cannot say enough good things about Rosalba! She is gracious, thoughtful and more helpful than tourists deserve! She communicated several times with me by email before we even left the US, answering questions I had about Rome in general. She met us at the apartment, despite airline delays that made us 90 minutes late getting into Rome. She arranged for a driver from the airport, who met us right outside customs and took us to the apartment, an interesting ride through Rome traffic, which seems never to abate. Rosalba was waiting outside when we arrived and helped us get our luggage upstairs. At the apartment, she had supplied us with a bottle of milk, a bottle of still water and one of sparkling water, and an assortment of soft drinks and beer, as well as a loaf of bread, butter and a large selection of jams and nutella. She showed us where everything was in the kitchen and bathroom, made sure we could get on the wifi and turn on all the lights, showed us where we could find maps of Rome, gave us a small map of the neighborhood with close restaurants and a grocery store marked on the map, and told us she would check on us every day to make sure we were doing okay, which she did. The apartment is perfect for two people, but not suitable for entertaining due to size limitations. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, important to retirees when traveling! Everything was very clean and the towels were excellent. Small things, but so nice when away from home. Via Appia Nuova is a busy and interesting street, with access to the Metro just down the block and a section of the Roman Wall a few blocks in the other direction. Love the Metro, except at rush hour. Be sure to try the little bakery just a couple of doors from the apartment. On the day we left, our driver didn't show up and was not responding to our phone calls, so I called Rosalba and the next thing we knew she was at the street with us, where she called a taxi and stood in the street flagging down every taxi until one stopped for us. We exchanged hugs and told her that if we were ever in Rome again, we were definitely staying with her. We highly recommend this apartment!
My wife and I stayed here during our vacation in Rome. It was TERRIFIC! Everything about it, from the location to the myriad great amenities provided. The owner was helpful, courteous and reliable. You are very close to "San Giovanni" station which is great. Ciao! Enjoy!
This apartment is in the heart of Rome. It is a little gem, despite not having a small sitting area. Rosalba is the most welcoming owner we have experienced in our extensive travels. The bedding, linens, supplied kitchen, and cleanliness are remarkable. There was a good selection of information about Rome. Rosalba personally walked us through the apartment after picking us up at the train station. It was a great way to start our visit to this bustling city.
My husband and I were very satisfied with our stay at Rosalba's apartment. She was very pleasant and kindly accommodating with our meet up time and payment schedule (we forgot to get enough cash to pay all up front). The building is secure and the elevator helpful if you're arriving after a long day of travel. The apartment was clean, comfortable and inviting and she included a special touch providing some breakfast items and coffee which helped save us some costs in the city. We loved the positioning within Rome, very close to the Metro for easy access to all the tourist destinations, but set in a neighborhood where we could observe the day to day lifestyle out the many street-side windows. We even had one of our best meals low cost take out meals from the nearby Gyro shop on the Re Di Roma. A few times we decided to forgo the metro and walk to/from the Colosseum area and had no difficulties navigating on-foot and enjoying the neighborhood. We enjoyed down-time in the apartment with adequate internet speed and the TV with numerous channels. Our decision to find a few apartment rentals during our Italian trip was one of the highlights, as it is so nice to have the comforts of extra space, privacy, and a sense of being with the locals. I would definitely recommend this rental and hope to stay again someday in the future.
The apartment was very clean and sunny and kitchen supplies (water, beer, milk, bread, coffee, etc) were stocked and ready for us.Lot of tourist books were available and Rosalba and/or her daughter were available to provide more if needed. The wifi was excellent, strong signal. The bathroom was also well stocked with towels, soaps, and shower supplies. The listing photos and description of the apartment are accurate. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend this apartment to others. Apartment is well situated if you want to walk around Rome and is closed to metro if needed.Dealings with the owner ( Rosalba ) are friendly , she is an amazing and trusworthy person. We would return without hesitation.
