Nice buy no working hot tub

  • 2 of 5

Honestly one of the selling points was the huge patio and the hot tub. It was a major disappointment when the hot tub was blowing breakers and wouldn't work and then we couldn't get it fixed during our stay.

Cozzy cabin in a quiet location. Perfect for a relaxing weekend getaway.

  • 5 of 5

The location is at the end of a street in a quiet neighborhood, kind of secluded and you're surrounded by pines. The cabin itself was warm and comfortable, and the kitchen was well stocked. Really loved the spa as well as the deck area, perfect spot to relax and have a drink/meal. Honestly we have no complaints and enjoyed our stay, thanks again to Sarah!

Just a heads up to any future renters:

-The grill outside is charcoal

-Sleeping a group of six is possible but definitely a stretch. 4+1 child would realistically be the max

-The spa is great but it does sort of face a neighbor's home

-Big bear village is only about a 10 min drive from the cabin, not bad at all.

Yikes

  • 1 of 5

The first problem we had was the local contact taking care of the property did not remove any snow so we had no where to park. Then we tried to walk to the door over icy snow covered stairs and a long walkway covered in many feet of snow which over the next few days turned to slippery ice making it dangerous for me my family to walk over. They hadn't even removed the snow from in front of the door. The melting snow was going right into the house. Cigarette butts littered the snow outside the door and it smelled inside of them when we opened the door. When we went outside to check out the patio, we saw the entire thing was covered in about 3 to 4 feet of snow. The Jacuzzi and the BBQ were buried in it. We dug out the Jacuzzi and turned it on and dug out the BBQ because we had planned on using it since in the description we knew there would be one. Later that night my husband used the microwave causing the power to go out on the bottom floor on the house. So we ended up just having to go to bed. The next day the jacuzzi still wasn't warm and to make a long story short they never fixed it, infact, the one time we thought we were going to finally get to use the jacuzzi, the chemicals the man managing the cabin used and said would be fine were so strong, my family stayed in for only minutes before they realized the fumes were burning their eyes, throats, and skin. They also never fixed the microwave situation. We just had to stop trying to use it plus my husband had to go outside to flip the breaker every time. Also I was uncomfortable with the lock on the front door. They had installed a key less entry lock on the door so all you need is a code to enter the house, however, when you go to lock the door there was no extra lock on the inside to make sure no one else with the code could just let themselves in. Every time the man came to check on the many different issues we had we never had any notice of when he would be by, making it quite uncomfortable for me when I was just getting out of the shower. The manager of this cabin had excuses about these different issues and I don't feel they were completely truthful with us. Our family's first trip to the snow, I feel like we should get our money back.

Relaxing, Quiet, Clean, and a Great Forest View

  • 5 of 5

The location of this cabin is perfect, last house on a quiet road in the middle of the forest. You have a beautiful view of the forest from the deck and a relaxing hot tub from where you can enjoy the crisp air and relax. The neighborhood was quiet, but noises can echo from quite far away, although this was not really a problem. The cabin itself was cozy, the temperature was perfect, the kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed, the bed was comfortable, the internet was fast, the board games were fun, and most importantly, it was very clean and well maintained. The cabin is located directly opposite of the lake from Big Bear blvd. So essentially, if you want to drive to the Village or Vons, it would take about 10 minutes. The property manager was very kind and accommodating. Thanks to this wonderful cabin, our trip was a success.
