This house is a perfect get away for a couple of families with kids who want to enjoy the country side and be close to everything that the city life can provide. The house is located in a small village called Robliza de Cojos, just a 20 minute drive to Salamanca. The house has a large master bedroom with a queen size bed, private bathroom and a large closet. The bay window in this room goes floor to ceiling and it provides a beautiful view of the large field in front of the house. The second bedroom is a good size guest room with another queen size bed. This room can be great for a second couple to come along and enjoy the visit. This room shares a bathroom (Jack and Jill style) with the third room. In addition, there is a smaller bathroom with a shower right outside the guest room. The last bedroom is the kids bedroom and it has a bunk bed that sleeps three kids very comfortably. Both the guest and kids rooms have a two blade glass door to the outside, which gives plenty of light to the rooms. One of my favorite parts of the house is the kitchen. This space is combined with the living room in an open floor plan with a kitchen island that invites to sit around while cooking and enjoying an glass of wine. The kitchen is beautifully furnished and it has new and hardly used appliances from the best brands in the market. The living room area also has a bay window with great views to the fields in front of the house. The kitchen has a two blade door that goes to the back porch. This is a very large porch with a 'cenador' where you can sit down and have a nice dinner enjoying the fresh and clean air of the country side. The house has grass areas in the front, right side and back. The house does not have a garage, but a nice ramp on the side where you can park at least 2 cars.
The town where the house is located has a population of about 200 people, but the number increases in the warm months. The house is right on a path that can be the start of your morning or evening walk. You can go in any direction and find beautiful sunflower and wheat fields in the summer time. Also, this is 'Toro' land, so you can find this beautiful animal on the sides of the road as you go for a bike ride to explore the area.
My name is Alberto Gaspar Jimenez and I am originally from Spain. I live in the United States, but I like to go back to Spain every year to visit my family and friends.
Owner/ Property Manager purchased this chalet in 2006
I built this house a few years ago so I would have a place to go back to every year that felt like home. My other goal was to have my children feel the same, and fortunately, I can now say I have achieved this.
The house is beautiful and it stands out in the area, although by being tucked away at one end of town it blends into the surroundings. The inside is comfortable and modern and it makes for a great vacation home. A very practical 'American' layout that combines the kitchen with the living room in a comfortable and ample space. The appliances in the kitchen are practically new as they have hardly been used. The three bedrooms are spacious and they all have direct access to their own bathrooms. Another great feature of this house are the outside garden, and front and back patios. I am in the process of hiring someone to finish texturing the walls in the garden and putting up the front fence, but this should be done in the next few months and should not affect your visit. The location of this property is fantastic if you like to get away from the big city and like to enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside. You can do day trips to Portugal (only 45 minutes away to the border), the 'sierra' of Salamanca and its enchanting villages, and at the same time it is very close to big cities such as Valladolid (1 hour drive), Avila (1 1/2 hour drive), or Madrid (2 1/2 hour drive). Another fantastic option just a few hours away is the wine country, with wines from La Ribera de Duero and La Rioja. And, of course, Salamanca, one of the most charming cities in Spain with plenty of monuments to visit, theaters, museums and cultural activities available throughout the year. You can hop on your car and drive for 20 minutes to go for a walk in Salamanca, or maybe a drink with some tapas in the downtown area and get back to the house for lunch. These are some of the may available options available for entertainment, depending on what you are looking for. I will provide you with any information you need as I know the area very well.
This is a great location to get away from the daily stress of the big city. You can get up and sit f the bay windows in the house with a cup a coffee and a good book and enjoy the peaceful view. If you want to go back to civilization you can get in your car and drive for 20 minutes to be in Salamanca, a beautiful lively town perfect to go for walks and sightseeing.
