About Rob Rose

I am a Realtor in Fort Lauderdale for over 30 years. My mothers family is from Beaufort, and my parents moved to Fort Lauderdale before I was born. I grew up spending Summers in Beaufort, and just love it. A preservationist at heart ( my grandparents were among a handful of people who founded the Beaufort Historical Association in the 60's) I own two of the oldest homes in Fort Lauderdale, and a mid century modern home in Southern Pines NC. I have personally restored them all including 211 George, and they all are partially furnished with family antiques.

Rob Rose purchased this house in 2014

Why Rob Rose chose Coastal North Carolina

I bought this house because I wanted to be in old town Beaufort and near the water. This is as close as I could come to that, but have a large lot, a garage, ample parking and great space in a house with style and character, and I can walk to the Piggly Wiggly! Two generations of my family lived on Ann Street, and I remember my mother commenting on how often she would look up from the breakfast table to tourists looking at her from the side walk. I like a bit of privacy! Compare the local offerings and I think you will see that this is a great choice for size, location, amenities, and price.

What makes this house unique

Perfectly laid out Cape Cod style cottage, on a big lot with huge old trees, Oak floors, lots of light from big windows. A golf car provided to guests for getting around town. Off street parking. Unlike most vacation rentals this home is furnished with quality things. Its really my second home I am sharing with guests. No thrift shop/flea market/ikea stuff here! Quality beds, and bed linens, antiques, very well equipped kitchen with high end table and cookware.

Absolutely charming house in a fantastic location!

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved the house! It was stocked with everything we needed. It is very tastefully decorated and warm and inviting. From the high quality bedding and towels to the wonderful antiques, everything made us feel as if were welcome. The owner clearly cares about his guests experience and we are grateful for his hospitality. The location was perfect, nestled in a quiet residential area, a short gulf cart ride to the grocery store and downtown Beaufort. We had access to beaches, restaurants, fishing and swimming spots. It was the best vacation we’ve had in years! I would recommend it to anyone.

Beautifully decorated and nicely appointed

  • 5 of 5

We rented this house for 10 nights. It was nicely appointed. Gorgeous antique furniture, well stocked kitchen, comfortable beds. It was a great base for exploring the area of Cape Lookout, Beaufort, Morehead City and Atlantic beach, easy access to all these areas. It is about a mile walk to all that down town Beaufort had to offer.

The owner was quick to respond to a few concerns we had during our stay.

I would highly recommend this to other renters.

Beaufort is a historic village founded in 1709, the third oldest town in NC, and recently name the Coolest Small Town in America. It is Key West without the cruise ship tourists and Provincetown without the hype and on a even smaller walkable scale. The town is packed with historic homes, a lively commercial street on the waterfront. Taylors Creek runs beside front street where you can swim off the town dock, or go across to the shoals and see wild horses. Cape Lookout and Shackleford Banks ( the southernmost end of the outer banks ) are across Bogue Sound by boat or easy Ferry from Front Street. Buy seafood that was swimming last night at a local fish market. Follow the bike path from the house to tour Beaufort, visit the Beaufort Historical Association site and tour the preserved home and buildings, ride the English double decker bus to tour the town. Water water everywhere for boaters. Tour Fort Macon and hit Atlantic Beach to cool off. Can you find the oldest tombstone in the Old Burying Ground? The girl who was buried in a barrel of rum?
