Hi, my name is Mauricio and I'm from Chile. Currently I live in Washington DC. I love my born country, Chile, and I would love to share with you information about my properties in Chile as well as about exciting places to visit, fun activities to do, and amazing Chilean food to enjoy while you visit the world's sourthermost country.
Mauricio purchased this condo in 2010
Santiago is considered among the top 10 cities in the world to visit in 2012 according to the New York Times and lonelyplanet tour guide. It is a modern city placed next to the Andes Mountain range, and approximately one hour from the Pacific Ocean. Chilean wine, food, and people are just a few great examples of all what you can find in the safest capital in South America.
This loft is located in the top two floors of a building placed in the heart of Providencia. Besides the great view of the city, you will be next to the metro system, great restaurants, cultural venues, and shopping centers.
We are flexible with check-in and check-out times (although normal used times are 11:00 AM, and 3:00 PM respectively)
On my arrival, on the 21st of December, the landlord informed me by e-mail and without giving any reasons that the rented and already paid apartment is not available. The answer to my question why the apartment is not available was rejected. Instead, offered he me for $ 150 discount another apartment in the same building. This apartment was not comparable to the apartment for that I payed (Loft). So it was very loud, because the balcony door couldn't completely closed. I have the reasonable suspicion that the owner the apartment, which was not available for me, to somebody else rented or over the Christmas day self used. I heard on several days repeatedly voices in the apartment. This is for me a sure indication that the apartment was used in the time in question. Since the owner of the apartment refused to give me a reason for the refusal of the contractually secured using of the apartment, assume I deliberate deception.
We stayed in this condo from Oct. 7-Oct.20 and found it even better than anticipated. Excellent view from balcony. Metro right outside. Many fine restaurants within walking distance. The owner, Mauricio, was very helpful and available to answer questions we had about visiting with many helpful suggestions and tips. The facilities were great and even provided an adapter to charge phones or computers. No street noise and Isabel was helpful as well. If you are going to Santiago Chile I highly recommend staying here. Jerry K.
This place is exactly as described and very convenient to public transportation (Metro) and shopping. We stayed in this apartment for 7 nights and it was the best experience we could have hoped for. We were able to visit everything in Santiago and this apartment is located in a very good location in Providencia. Many thanks to Mauricio and Isabel for their hospitality and for their wonderful apartment!
Sincerely - Fred
This was an very well appointed apartment in a great location. Everything we needed was close by and the Metro stop being right outside our door made getting around Santiago really easy. I would highly recommend this apartment. Mauricio was fabulous to deal with and responded immediately to any questions. When I get back to Santiago, I would love to stay here again.
I spent three nights in this condo. It is a great place to stay for business or pleasure in Santiago.
Location: One of the best things about this apartment is the location. There is a metro station right in front of the building. You have a wide variety of stores and restaurants within a block or two of the apartment. By taking the metro for a couple of stops, shoppers will find a top-notch shopping mall. I can't remember the name, but it was probably the biggest mall I have ever visited.
Booking: Booking was very easy. Mauricio promptly answered all questions and the booking was completed very quickly. I will also add that Mauricio was very patient in dealing with my many questions throughout booking and my visit. He promptly addressed my concerns when I was at the apartment.
Condo: The condo is clean, modern, and unique. I doubt that you will find better views of the city than you will find at this condo. The heating works well upstairs. I never tried the heat on the first level. There was plenty of seating available in the living area. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you could possibly need. The bed was fine. The bathroom is clean. There were a couple of annoying things about the bathroom: I found the sink very difficult to use. Unless you have tiny hands, it is difficult to wash your hands. There is no shower curtain. Instead there is a glass shield. Unfortunately it does not fully cover the area and it is impossible to keep water from getting out onto the floor. These little issues were only minor annoyances. Another great thing about the condo is that there is ample closet space in the bedroom.
Wifi: There is a fast, reliable wifi connection.
Cons: The neighborhood is noisy all night long (the building is not). I am a light sleeper and I still slept just fine. It got a little irritating having to take the stairs to go between the living area and the bedroom/bathroom. The flipside of this is that the views from the top level are awesome.
Bottom line: I loved this place. If you want a modern and clean apartment with a tremendous location, this is the place for you!
This was a great location. The guest book and information binder were a great addition. We were able to do lots of day trips from this location and using the public transportation was petty easy, (easier if we knew better Spanish).
Everyone in Chile were very helpful. We rented a car for a few days and Isabel was very helpful with the parking. We would recommend the loft to other people visiting Santiago. Thank you for sharing your loft with us.
