This is a treasure with one bedroom, one bath, with an open floor plan, that sleeps 4. Come and enjoy the breath taking views from the 1000 sq. foot deck. Computer for guest use with easy to use, high speed internet. Conveniently located close to Mamalahoa Highway yet quite and private.
The local hawks, called 'Io are seen most days circling above this 60 acre sanctuary. Lani is the Hawaiian word for heaven. The land goes from the highway to the ocean. It is truly a heavenly experience to enjoy the ocean to mountain views from the large lanai.
On a clear day you can see the summit of Haleakala,(10,023 ft.), on the island of Maui. You can also see the summit of Hualalai (8271 ft. elevation). In the winter months, it is common to see whales jumping in the crystal clear ocean below.
A perfect getaway for a group of friends or family. 'Iolani Guest House will guarantee an excellent vacation on the Big Island of Hawaii. The views are fantastic!
This well appointed Guest House makes a perfect place to come to at the end of the day during your scenic vacation here on the Big Island of Hawaii.
I live in Canada half of the year but love coffee here on the lanai while watching the hawks over head! We welcome you and friends and family to visit our home away from home here on the Big Island!
Mike Mickey purchased this house in 2010
We bought this property because of the special location on the Big Island. With wildlife, a beach just minutes away and great neighbors it is a perfect second home.
The hawks circle the 1000 ft. Lanai where the spectacular view is outstanding. On a clear day you can see all the way to Maui and back to Miolii ! This a is a real get-a- way to come relax and unwind.........
Perfect getaway. Clean, bigger than advertised and Wafaa was always helpful. Little over an hour to the nicest beach (IMO) Hapnua, but the seclusion is unbeatable.
Mike is amazing! We had the pleasure of meeting him when we arrived. Awesome guy who made us feel at home immediately. We shared a thumbs up upon arrival. He introduced us to Wafaa, caretaker of the property & an angel who we quickly fell in love with. We shared most of our meals with Wafaa and she became our guide to the big island. A friend for life....blessings! Im sure everyone's experience here will be unique, but ours was life changing. My partner and I would stay here forever if we could. We love this place! If you want to get away from everything and reset your life this is a great place to start. The adventure continues. We may move to the big island for a while....anything is possible. Love Hale 'lolani and all the wonder that comes with it. Aloha!
Cool , large property with pebble just down the road. They were dealing with a new cleaner so a few spots were not perfect however like any new cleaner there is a adjustment period.
My wife & I travel to Hawaii several times a year when we go to the Big Island we mainly would rent a house on the Hilo side, this is the first time we rented a house on the Kona side, smart move on our part.
Very nice house with an amazing view! The house has everything you will need (towels, beach towels, pots/pans, etc) Plan on eating dinner on the balcony with lovely ocean views every night and amazing sunsets that you normally see on a beer commercial....
The house is out of the way, but, that is what we like, we drove around all day and on the way back, stopped by the stores to buy what we needed and then had a relaxing time in the house which is very quiet as you have no neighbors...
We loved staying here. The picture really doesn't do it justice. The views were wonderful. We were amused by the wild turkeys & piglets that we briefly saw on their way to the trees. The kitchen was great! It was easy to cook our own meals. Absolutely love the open floor plan. The windows made it so pleasant during the day, so comfortable at night, & so relaxing as the sun came up. It was nice to be able to eat on the porch. And the option of covered or open was great - easy to catch an extra half hour of sun on the deck in the afternoon. We would definitely stay here again or recommend it to anyone. Harvey & Melinda (the property managers) were terrific to work with - helpful at a moment's notice & had good suggestions for things to do or places to buy stuff. This has been one of our very favorite vacations ever.
Spent one week at this incredible property. It is quiet and very well suited for two people. The pics don't even do the view justice; it's that breathtaking. Best sunset I've ever seen in my life. You can grill, lounge, relax.. and if you truly get sick of the beautiful outdoors you can head inside to watch the enormous TV for a bit or take advantage of the high speed wifi. The interior is very breezy and well protected from the heat; it was always cool and comfortable with just open windows and the occasional fan, even if it was 90+ degrees outside (which it was through most of our stay, even in February! I'm kind of a wuss when it comes to extreme heat and humidity). There is a local beach just a short drive from the house. Downstairs laundry units were also appreciated.
A point that was very important to me - throughout the entire homeaway process, from pre-booking questions to mid-stay contact, Melinda was extremely prompt and responsive. That was much appreciated! It's also worth noting that this is an isolated property, not down the driveway from someone's backyard. So while you can promptly reach management, nobody is meddling in your vacation plans.
If you're looking to get away, this is definitely worth checking out. It is a bit of a trek from the nearest cafe or amenities, but it is a world away from a run of the mill, tourist trap kind of vacation.
This home is located just above a pristine black pebble beach that offers snorkeling, swimming, kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, diving access, and hiking trails (old King's trail, goes around the island). The home has high speed internet.
A beautiful, lush and scenic drive past quaint towns and coffee farms, 25 miles south of Kona and 32 miles south of the airport, off of Highway 11. Fifteen minutes to Ho'okena Beach Park, Pu'uhonua O Honauanu National Historical Park (Place of Refuge), and fantastic 'Two Step' for world renowned snorkeling, The Painted Church, Paleaku Peace Gardens, Kealakekua Bay (Capt Cook Monument) and Big Island Bees. For Triathlon, We are 35 min. from Kailua…longer from swim event. Volcano National Park is 70 miles to the south with great hiking and views of lava and volcanic plumes. Weekend farmers markets, Kona coffee farm tours. Be sure to take gifts of Macadamia nuts and chocolates and Coffee. The coffee in this area is the best in the world!
