About Suzanne Haupt
Hi, I’m Suzie Haupt. I have dreamt of living in a log cabin since 1956 when my family vacationed in Pennsylvania’s Pocono Mountains. Then, in 1959 when we rented our cabin on Lake Wallenpaupack, my new dream became to live in a log cabin on a lake!
Suzanne Haupt purchased this Cabin in 2011
Why Suzanne Haupt chose Lake Lure
I moved to the coast of North Carolina in 1991 and found that I very much missed the mountains and fresh water swimming. Thus began my search for the perfect lake to retire to. In 2005 I discovered Mirror Lake and fell in love with it. The exquisite views and mild water temperatures from May through October offer me more pleasure than I ever dreamed of. Until I am able to retire and move permanently into “WHATAVIEW” I’d like to share my dream with you. You won’t be disappointed! Please call if you have any questions.
What makes this Cabin unique
This part of western North Carolina is simply pristine; it is so beautiful that just sitting on the deck watching the changing light on the lake and the clouds seems in itself a past-time. The majesty of the mountains and waterfalls in the area around Lake Lure are so picturesque that they appear to be torn from the pages of National Geographic. From shopping and fine dining to golf and fishing, there is something for everyone here... oh, except for folks who like traffic noise, we don't have any of that.

What a View was a wonderful place to create another one of our memories!
As the dust settled in the rear view mirror as we took the final turn into “What a View”, we were all excited to spend a few days together away from the city life and create some mountainous memories. Being that we have all gone into different directions in the last year, this mother’s day weekend was important for our family. The proximity of so many outdoor activities, such as Chimney Rock, The Blooming Bridge, canoeing, swimming, boating, and many others, gave us the opportunity to enjoy nature and all its abundance. From the morning coffee on the porch overlooking the water, the BBQ in the evenings, to the beautiful sunset walks, we had some pretty amazing family time. The cabin itself was cozy and clean, and we shared many laughs around the dining table. As we’ve come to the last day, we’d like to thank you for opening up your home to us, allowing us to create some lasting memories spanning from a dream you had in creating this home. It was quite the view!!
Beautiful cabin with fantastic reviews. Well stocked and nicely decorated. Felt like home.
Wanted quiet long weekend with family. Ideal. We enjoyed the decks sunrises and sunsets. Close to water and trails. Highly recommend.

A most beautiful place!

perfect getaway for girls weekend
My friends and I wanted to get away from children and husbands for a relaxing weekend in the mountains and this cabin was the PERFECT place for us! First of all, it's beautiful...the back porch has a large picnic table on it perfect for meals outside overlooking the amazing view. We loved the gas fireplace and comfortable couches. Close by there are hiking trails and a place for zip lining that was super fun. And she has a canoe that you can use...although we ran out of time to take advantage of it. Several of us would love to return with our families!
What a house! What a beautiful location! The house was so well appointed and had everything that you could ask or want in a lake cabin. Loved that the kitchen was so well stocked for cooking. The bedrooms and beds were so comfortable and we loved having the pool table on the lower level. Sheets and towels were high quality and those beds!! Sooo comfortable! Having access to Rumbling Resort was an added touch. We love the beach and being able to grab a bite to eat in the resort when we felt like it. No packing lunch! The location is perfect for hiking and exploring. The Puco's were so helpful prior to our arrival with restaurant recommendations and things to do and see. The perfect getaway fro an Asheville vacation. We can't wait to go back! Don't book anywhere else!
