Overview

About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms, 1.5 Baths, (Sleeps 9)

On a limited basis I'm now booking summer 2017 ....This is the best rental located directly on Pine Creek! This charming 3 bedroom ranch home, encompassing 3 acres, is located on a beautiful 1/2 mile long straight, still section of Pine Creek. In the summertime this area of the creek is so deep it seems like a lake, and is considered one of the best fishing spots on Pine Creek. The creek runs from shallow to 10 feet deep and is great for swimming, rock jumping, rafting, boating, crayfish catching and just plain having fun.

The 3 acre property, with beautiful mountain views all around, is located at the end of a private dead-end road and has 375 feet of creek frontage. The 62 mile long Pine Creek rails to trails is directly in the backyard but secluded from view from the house and yard.

This is a birders paradise with both water and field varieties aplenty. Enjoy the quiet while studying the stars at night around the campfire!

Our fully furnished house sleeps 8 comfortably with a king size bed, queen bed, double bed and 3 bunk beds. The kitchen has all the modern amenities and we supply the towels and bed linens. There is a screened-in porch and a side patio off the kitchen complete with awning covered table and chairs for outdoor dining.

May 1 to September 6th, 2016, weekly rentals only. Prefer Friday to Friday time period!

Another great stay at the Lucky Duck!

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful week nestled in the valley along Pine Creek. Spring was in the air with many warm air, blooming flowers and trees, busy ducks in the creek, and fun rides on the rail trail. This was our second stay and it was every bit as nice as the first. The cottage is well stocked and clean. We enjoyed our Easter dinner cooked in the lovely kitchen with anything you might need to cook a large meal. We will be returning for sure in the near future. Thank you Mr. Liddic for your hospitality and helpfulness. The Fowlers from York, Pa

Peaceful and Cozy Thanksgiving Retreat

  • 5 of 5

Staying at The Lucky Duck was a great experience. From the start the owner was informative and helpful in facilitating our stay. The cottage is well equipped and allowed us to enjoy a relaxing and comfortable Thanksgiving break. Having the rail trail so close allowed for a daily walk or bike ride. We enjoyed card and board games and watching TV or DVD's. Making cozy camp fires to roast marsh mallows and hot dogs was easy and fun since the garage is well stocked with dry wood. We enjoyed being able to also bring along our family dog. He also enjoyed the beautiful scenery. The kitchen is well equipped. It was nice to have clean and ready beds upon arrival. You won't be disappointed visiting the Lucky Duck! Enjoyable and relaxing even in November :)

Peaceful and Cozy Thanksgiving Retreat

  • 5 of 5

We spent our Thanksgiving week at this cozy cottage and even though the weather was not the nicest, we still enjoyed our stay. Having the rail trail next to the house allowed us easy access for daily walks and bike rides. The house was well equipped for us to cook our meals each day and our Thanksgiving dinner. We enjoyed board and card games and watching TV or DVD's. We also made some warm camp fires to enjoy some marshmallows and hotdogs. We appreciated being able to bring along our dog who also enjoyed the scenery. Mr. Liddic provided us with quick response and information to facilitate our wonderful vacation.

The Lucky Duck is a lucky place to send your time

  • 5 of 5

The Lucky Duck is a spacious and accommodating home. It is great for extended family vacation time. The house backs onto Pine Creek; the creek is easy and safe for young ones, a good fishing spot and deep enough in the middle for swimming. If you are an early riser, you can bike while the mountains are still shrouded in clouds. We will definitely want to return as often as possible. Thank you.

Awesome location of The Pine Creek!

  • 5 of 5

First of all, Thank You for sharing your Great property with us to enjoy!

Beautiful location on the Pine Creek, saw lots of wildlife.. Loved watching the Eagles! Our 3 year old got super excited when he was able to get within 5 feet of a fawn that was lying in the grass along the rail trail.

We really enjoyed the creek, swimming, kayaking, cliff jumping and fishing!

Also enjoyed the many different species of birds.

Cabin is very nicely furnished and we were able to feel right at home.

We are planning on returning in 2017 (Lord Willing).

Great location

  • 5 of 5

3 generations of our family stayed for our weekly vacation. Great location and ease of getting to pine creek and to rail trail directly from home is convenient. Hiking, biking, campfires, kayaking, and hour drive to PA Grand Canyon for sight seeing all involved thru-out the week. Fine restaurants close by. Teenage grandson loved it and the computer games kept him busy. All amenities are well kept and useful. We all enjoyed our stay and never ran out of things to do. Owners are very helpful and answer all questions promptly.

Map

House is a short distance from the Pine Creek, which is a 1/2 mile long on a flat, deep area that is considered one of the best fishing holes on Pine Creek. There is also a 12 foot hole ideal for swimming and rock jumping. You can jump on the 62 mile long Pine Creek Rails to Trails in the backyard, but it is secluded from the house and property. Located 25 miles south of the Pennsyvania Grand Canyon and 25 miles to Williamport, home of Little League Baseball Musuem and World Series and many restaurants and shopping centers.
