Good location, but condo a little bit run down

There were some key elements of the home that we enjoyed, however, I feel I should communicate a few of the issues. Upon our arrival, the cleaning crew had just gotten there and remained there well after our arrival (check in was 3pm, we arrived at 3:30pm, cleaning crew left at almost 6pm). Cleaning crew said they were notified late in the day that we were arriving; property manager said there was a mix up. Upon waiting for the cleaners to finish upstairs (while we waited downstairs), the power went out in the family room, including the tv. I contacted the property manager about the situation, there was a miscommunication. I texted the property owners, but never received a response. We figured out that there is a light switch in the middle bedroom upstairs that controls the power downstairs (weird). We were not given any compensation for the 2 ½ hours we lost with the cleaning crew.

For the price we paid and what the home is worth, I felt the home was run down and does not look like it's been updated much: carpet tacks are coming up through the carpet, padding is depleted, outlets are very loose, drawer pulls are missing, shower stalls are flimsy (be careful closing), walls were patched with bad matching paint, etc. Be aware that Smart and Final is directly across the street. Deliveries were made in the morning and can be fairly noisy (we were there Friday through Sunday), but keeping the windows shut helped alot.

Some of the positive aspects. Parking was ample. All bedrooms have a queen size bed (I think one had a king size) and the beds were comfortable with plenty of pillows. Two bedrooms have their own bathroom. The layout was a good layout for a condo. The location is great, downtown is just a few minutes walk, beach access is very close (down Jameson Street) and takes about 10 minutes to walk to CDM. Little Corona del Mar (our favorite beach) is also walking distance. The windows and coverings seem fairly new and cut out a lot of the street noise. I did like the added black curtains in the bedrooms, they really shut out the morning light. Smart and Final is across the Street and Rite Aid/Ace Hardware are also very short walks. We enjoyed the food from Gina’s Pizza located in the Smart and Final shopping center. If you have kids, check out B. Candy it has some great candy and delicious desserts.

If you can get past the issues I’ve stated, it really is in a good location. I hope this review helps. Enjoy CDM!

Close to beach and shops, cute and roomy

This is an expensive area to visit, and this town home was a great price if you have a large group. You can easily walk to the beach, but I also found that parking was easy to find if you have a lot to bring down and want to drive. My younger kids really loved the beach as the water was really calm. The teens thought the waves weren't big enough! There are fire pits at the beach for the evening, and overall is a nice place to spend your time. The Town Home sits directly across from Smart and Final which is a good-bad thing. I loved just walking across the street to buy supplies but didn't love hearing the constant beeping of delivery trucks backing into the loading zone. The house itself was comfortable, fans in every room. Kitchen is fully stocked however, the owner needs to invest in new cooking pans, I found them unusable and bought my own at Smart and Final. There was not a cookie sheet, I bought one and they need a new can opener. These are easy fixes though. There are vaulted ceilings and the cleaning crew could do a better job with the cob-webs. Everything else seemed really clean. There were no beach towels so you need to bring your own. There is no back yard or patio really to sit outside or BBQ. If your not really planning on cooking much these are non-issues, there are a lot of places close by. My only other concern was the morning noise. 3 of the 4 bedrooms face the front street. Thurs. is trash day- very loud at 7am, then at 7:30am the gardeners came, very loud and the constant traffic from the Smart and Final. There is a really nice breeze that flows through the house if you have the windows open, but it also makes it loud if you want to sleep in. If you like to get up early or are a deep sleeper, this probably won't be a problem for you. Overall it was a nice place to stay, close to all sorts of places.

Great Location

Great Location! Short walk to Corona Del Mar beach and Little Corona beach, as well as dining and shopping. Easy drive to Laguna beaches and shopping.

Property Manager was very nice to work with, responded to quickly to my questions.

Great location at reasonable cost.

We rented this home because of my son's wedding location at Pelican Point GC. In addition my older son and his family stayed with us all nights. The home's size was large enough for all of us to be together and also afforded individual privacy.

The location was perfect. The home was steps away from an amazing grocery store, hardware store, pharmacy, and intimate moderately priced restaurants.

There is a neighborhood playground and the beach is in walking distance. Fran was also very accommodating.
