Overview

About the property

Peace And Quiet In A Beautiful Natural Setting. Not Too Far Off Beaten Path.

This is a great place to get your head on or get away from the human race. You can use this place to enjoy the natural beauty of Montgomery County, Arkansas i.e. fishing, water skiing, boating, hunting, canoeing, hiking, crystal digging and/or mountain biking or just to see if this is the community you would like to retire to. Beautiful scenery, and if you time it right you will see the deer crossing the property every morning. This is a 1,550 square foot home with 2 bedrooms and an open floor plan. This home has 3 porches, 2 covered. The front porch has a standard porch swing. The back porch has a outdoor table and chairs and chaise lounge chair. It has all the amenities a normal home would have, which includes a washer/dryer in the utility room. The bathroom is a 4-piece. The shower is large, with a good sized seat and handicapped bars in the shower to use if needed. The first bedroom has a king size bed and dresser, the 2nd bedroom can double as a separate sitting area or bedroom. It has a full size sleeper sofa with a small standing cabinet to use as a dresser. There is plenty of closet space. There is an anteroom, which has a desk. The living room and kitchen are one large room. The living room has 2 couches and one chair. One couch is a little unconventional, it is a large bean bag couch. This home comes with satellite TV, Wi-Fi and a doggie door. You may bring your dog or cat as long as they do their business outside or in a box. We are located just off Hwy 270. Plenty of parking for your boat or RV.

Mt. Ida is 11 miles away, which has several eating establishments and a grocery store. Every Saturday night, from May thru September a different musical band plays on the town square.

Mena is 34 miles away, it is a much larger town with restaurants and grocery stores, Queen Wilhelmina State Park. Beautiful scenery.

Hot Springs is 47 miles away. Big tourist area. Natural Hot Springs, Lake Hamilton, Amusement Park, water park,. 2 large hospitals, many restaurants, Garvan Gardens, gambling, seasonal horse racing, year round casino.

Summer trip to dig a few quartz crystals

  • 5 of 5

Had a great time staying at this home. Clean. Well furnished and enjoyed Cricket (black lab) helping to welcome us to the area. Would stay here again for any future trips to. The front porch was wonderful for evening rest and quiet time. Thank you Lisa for being available and so welcoming for our trip.

Great Place VERY Clean

  • 4 of 5

Stayed 03-24-17 - 03-26-17 extremely happy with the the amenities and the accommodations . The house was extremely clean upon arrival and the check in check out process was very smooth. Something I do not see mentioned in reviews.... There is nice water pressure in the shower..

The only items that might be important to other renters... The master bed while comfortable is EXTREMELY Squeaky. Also if you have children that might need to go to bed before the adults there are no doors on the bedrooms (very open concept) with makes bedtime difficult.

Over all I will rent this cabin again

Serene, Comfortable, Cozy!

  • 5 of 5

Came from Dallas for a weekend among the trees, and had a wonderful time! The cabin shares lovely woods with the property's owners, who are extremely accomodating (Lisa even stocked our fridge with breakfast necessities and was on hand to bring my ear infection ridden husband some Tylenol!) We enjoyed so many things about the cabin... the huge shower, the extremely comfortable king sized bed, the massive bean bag couch, but the thing we enjoyed the most was just sitting on the porch swing at night! And here's a couple tidbits to help future travelers.. the really quiet location means there's no restaurants, etc. super close so enjoy cooking your own meals with all the nice pots and pans and spices, etc. the owners have provided. Lastly, for those of you who like a tipple.... the cabin is located in a dry county (liquor, wine AND beer) so bring any libations you may desire with you :) Thank you, Maguires, for a wonderful stay!

Great Location

  • 5 of 5

This cabin was the perfect location for us to use as a home base for some exploring and hiking in the area. Great kitchen with all the necessities. Comfortable beds and nice towels. We loved the porches and the peace and quiet. Stars were gorgeous at night. It was great meeting and visiting with Mary and enjoyed having Cricket as our escort home when driving up at night. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Peaceful and conveniently located

  • 5 of 5

The house was very clean and nicely decorated. We loved watching the butterflies on the mimosa tree from the porch swing. The bean bag couch was a favorite with our boys and some of their friends who visited us on breaks from working as counselors at Camp Ozark. Our son slept on the pull-out sofa, and he said it was very comfortable. The king bed was also super comfortable. We loved the big tub and shower. It was very nice to have a w/d as we did several outdoor activites nearby (kayacking, mt. biking, hiking) and got pretty dirty. Lisa greeted us on our first night there and was extremely cordial and accommodating. Our only note to guests is to beware that the bathroom is the only room with a door in case privacy is an issue. We plan to come back and have already recommended it to friends.
