You won’t need a car - located in Washington Square West neighborhood of Center City. Historic sites and attractions are mostly within waking distance. Easy access to public transportation for those sites too far away for walking. Many of the city’s top restaurants, cafes and bars are within a short walk. Owner happy to make dining suggestions. Just five blocks to the Convention Center and Philadelphia's historic Reading Terminal Market. South Philadelphia's Italian market is also a short walk.
The place was in a perfect location for walking for restaurants, the convention center and bars. Had a washer dryer (major plus). Margot and Rob were very helpful and accommodating. We needed some help and they were over with in 15 minutes! We also accidentally forgot a watch on the counter and she offered to mail it home to us. We will definitely stay again if we visit Philly! Thank you!!!
We spent three nights at the apartment and really enjoyed our stay. The location is very convenient. The apartment is on a narrow lane between two main streets so it's quiet. The apartment is very well equipped with kitchen wares (including some basic add ones like cooking oil, coffee for the coffee maker, tea, etc.) and appliances. The apartment is open and airy with lots of space. There's a second bedroom we didn't use that has a washer/dryer. The TV has a DVR in case you want to record shows while you're out and a sound bar for Bluetooth music. The neighborhood has lots of nice restaurants and bars, antique stores, access to the subway nearby, and it's walking distance to the central business district. In the park around the corner there's a Philly bike share station if you want to explore the city on two wheels. We were really pleased with the place and are thinking we'll return again on future trips to Philadelphia.
The apartment was overall satisfactory and functional.
Pricing was appropriate.
The bed in the second bedroom was not acceptable as all it had was a couple of mattresses thrown on the floor.
Both bedrooms could use ceiling fans with light to improve circulation as neither bedrooms have return vets and when the doors are shut there is simply no way for air to rewrite to the main return in the hallway.
My wife and I were in Philly for the Craft Brewers Conference and stayed at this property in Center City. The location turned out to be great. It was a short (15 min) walk to the convention center but far enough away to be quiet. The townhouse is in excellent condition and everything was perfect. This was our first VRBO rental and we may never stay in a hotel again when there are options. We did not need our car but found a garage a block away on 11th street that housed it for $19/day. Communication and coordination with the owners was very efficient.
We have stayed here twice now, it is on the same block as my daughter's apartment. One visit was with my college age son, and he, too slept on the fold out couchy thing in the second room. It wasn't a comfy bed, but he said, for three nights, it was fine. The queen bed in the main room is very comfy. My second visit was with my husband and we found the bed just as comfortable for two people. (no soup bowl effect, as is found so often in rental places.)
The apartment is off the main street and is so quiet. At night we didn't hear any noise at all, on a weekend! Our daughter is on the fourth floor of her building and said she heard a lot of party noise the Saturday night we were there. The apartment is close to an amazing array of restaurants and shops. The kitchen is bright and easy and has everything you would need for a week, with a Deli/grocery right on the corner with all the basics at hand. The bathroom is small, but very nice. There is not much counter space, but the closet behind the sink has empty shelves for ditty bags. Laundry is a bonus, as my husband managed to spill red wine on his dress shirt on our first night.
We have found the owners friendly and prompt. My only "complaint" is that we wanted to watch the end of the football game on Sunday and we could NOT figure out how to turn the TV and multiple gadgets to the right combination to get it to work. Four of us, all with several higher education degrees, and no luck. It was pretty pathetic - probably our own ineptitude, but frustrating. Wish we had had our 14 year old along, he can run all that stuff! Ha!
We were pleasantly surprised at the size of the apartment and its location in the middle of a very charming, yet hip area. It is in a tight cobblestone alley which offers more privacy and quiet than we expected in center city. Coffee shops on every corner, eclectic restaurants and walking distance to any place you'd want to go in Philly ( except the large stadiums, etc. )
The kitchen and bathroom are wonderfully remodeled and queen bed was very comfortable. It actually has two bedrooms, though one only has a futon which my son
found uncomfortable-two twin beds would be ideal in here for families. My other son slept in the living room on a rather narrow upholstery bench/couch-again the twin beds would be a very nice addition and then we would love to stay here again. Or I would come without them!
We were here for the World Meeting of Families and were so delighted to have found this gem where we could spread out vs. a hotel room and be able to get around on foot.
Located just off of Antique Row in Center City's historic Washington Square West neighborhood. Located 3 blocks from the Kimmel Center/Academy of Music, 5 blocks from the Reading Terminal Market and Convention Center, 8 blocks from Independence Hall/Liberty Bell. Great location for urban explorers with numerous top-tier restaurants and shops nearby. Walk to Rittenhouse Square, Old City, and South Street attractions. No car necessary.
