Enjoy the north coast of California in the wonderful paradise of Gualala. This cozy 2 story home with ocean views offers you what you might find at the Sea Ranch (2 miles to the south) without the prices or crowds. This wonderful home is located just north of Gualala with over an acre of property for family fun and relaxation. You can enjoy the outdoor fire and horseshoe pit with your friends and family. The home is located near great for diving for abalone. Venture up the highway less than a mile and discover the 'Hidden Beach' and its magical treasures and views.

we were a group of Ab divers and loved the location, 2 days of sun and our departure day it rained. Note to divers, there is not any access to ocean from this property. We did get numerous chances to dive up along the coast. The house is cozy and clean and it's location perfect.
Our family seems to vote to come back here every year.
We love to dive for abalone and fish but this area has so much more to do:
There seems to be state parks and public beaches every few miles with tons to hike and explore.
We love the redwoods and dive up the Gualala river to pick black berries and swim- rope swing every time.
There is a great beach 1/2 mile north for surfing, kite flying, skimboarding, cave exploring or just romantic star gazing. We also got a 10.25 inch abalone here.
In the evening we have a great camp fire back at the house in a fire pit they have there and there is always plenty of fire wood.
All the fun little town along HWY 1 are so much fun. Our favorite are Gulalala, Point Arena, and Mendocino. Great sea food, fun shopping, all very unique with there own coastal flavor.
We would highly recommend this home and area for couples or groups up to 6 (kids sleep upstairs on futons and couches) but leave room for us as we will be back again :)
Our family of five was really happy here for 2 nights. The outdoor swing and fire-pit were a great addition to help entertain the kids. Quiet, private location perfect for a break from our city-life. LOVED having a washer and dryer available for use. Managers were very helpful with a couple of questions we had. Also loved finding a home that does not allow pets, as we all have pet allergies. A non-smoking home was also a big plus.
Thoroughly enjoyed the Macguire (sp?) house. I am a minimalist when it comes to decorating but all the family's touches (especially the shell identification boards) were appreciated. We had fun reading the book describing the things displayed on the walls and the table created from dive finds. Large wonderful yard! Shower was great!
Had a great time. The house was clean and well equipped. Love the two floor layout. With the bedrooms all downstairs and the rest of the living area upstairs made it easy to get up before everyone else and not have to worry about waking them up while making coffee.
The nights were quite and the days cool. It was great to be in cooler weather, even if it was for only three days.
We have been coming here for years and love this house, the property and the area. Recently the owners have made a number of upgrades and improvements, including full garbage and recycling service, and the place has never looked better. As another reviewer noted, this house is truly a home, with comfy furniture, well-equipped kitchen, and a million dollar view. The decor is not some faux, Coastal Living wannabe, but the real deal with spearfishing/diving pictures and trophies (yes, that gigantic lobster on the wall is real!), and bronze artifacts collected by the owners from a wreck off the California coast. There is even a picture album that shows how the artifacts were collected...fascinating! Take a close look around the living room and you will see some of those artifacts have been reincarnated as useful furnishings.
The house is not directly on the cliff, but the view from upstairs looks right over the adjoining property down upon the ocean and scenic cove below. You can hear the ocean at night; you are that close. Even though you can watch the sun set from the patio, we walked out to the end of the bluff every night to enjoy the sunset. (And it was the only place our cell phones worked.) Divers and fishermen will appreciate the fish/abalone cleaning station outside.
The property is big with lots of room for the kids (small and big) to play. There is plenty of firewood stacked up next to the fire pit, and we loved building a fire, roasting marshmallows, and watching the sky absolutely fill with stars.
The house is in a very convenient location, close to the wonderful town of Gualala and also within walking distance to a beautiful beach just 1 mile north. Sight-seeing in the area is world class with numerous hikes, beach towns, beaches, museums, lighthouse at Point Arena, historic Fort Ross, and much more. In fact, the NY Times has listed the area as one of the top places to visit in 2014. Thanks NY Times, but that's not news to us!
We had wi-fi here (not very fast), but really preferred to "unplug" and get into the serenity and beauty of the place. The layout of the house is terrific, with the two bedrooms downstairs and living area/kitchen upstairs to take advantage of the magnificent view.
