About Ginger Howard

We live in Jackson WY and bought this house for our Cincinnati visits a few times a year. My husband worked in commercial real estate for Jones Lang LaSalle and is now retired. I taught Montessori pre-school and grades 1-4 in public schools. We have two grown children in the San Francisco Bay area, check out our kids' creative business at leafcutterdesigns dot com. We split our time between Berkeley CA, Driggs ID, Cincinnati, and Uruguay.

Why Ginger Howard chose Cincinnati

I lived in Hyde Park while attending college. It's a great walking community - cute houses, lots of coffee shops and restaurants, and close to all the best in Cincinnati. It's a great location for exploring the city: Eden Park, Over the Rhine, Ault Park, Downtown and Covington KY.

What makes this house unique

The house has tall ceilings and a large kitchen with island and double doors to the outside. Love the front porch and garden in front, and the large yard in back. Lots of beds so you'll have flexibility with who sleeps where. But the best benefit is the location.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Cannot think of any improvements. You even catered for children from 2 months old, onwards. You even had zipper bags and anti snow salt.

What an equiped kitchen!! Your cleaners left your house AS NEW.

Perfection. Never let them go. Best, Ron

Victorian charm with modern conveniences.

  • 5 of 5

A lovely home, well kept and clean, in a quiet neighborhood. The yard is green and peaceful. The furnishings & fixtures are from the Victorian era, but the kitchen is modern. As a result the overall effect is the best of both worlds, Victorian atmosphere, charm, antiques, books, games, & decor, but all of the conveniences of a modern home. Everything is super clean & in good shape. The kitchen is fully stocked, & then some. The location is close to Hyde Park square, which has shops, restaurants, & coffee. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Even though we don't need that much space, we would stay there again.

Wonderful memories!

  • 5 of 5

Hyde Park Victoria was the perfect spot for our gathering for a family wedding. It was within walking distance to great restaurants (Echo is a must for breakfast!) and shopping (Nordstrom Rack + many more). The home was well equipped, clean and had comfortable rooms for relaxing between events. The long driveway easily accommodated our cars so we did not have to worry about on street parking. Would definitely return again!

Everything you need and great location too!

  • 4 of 5

We chose this location to house my two out-of-town children and their small families while they were in town for our other son's wedding at a nearby park. The house was perfect for the kids to run around in back yard, walk to places to eat and relax before heading off to the wedding. Have to say that neighbors to the east were entertaining a group of people who were extremely loud well into Saturday morning (2:30 A.M) which prevented some of us from getting to sleep after a long afternoon and night wedding. That was the only drawback for our otherwise perfect evening. Thanks so very much to Ginger for accommodating an hour early arrival on Friday so we could have everyone ready for rehearsal. This made our weekend so much easier and enjoyable.

Owner's Response: Glad you had a good time and enjoyed the house. First time we have heard of noisy neighbors... so sorry. I hope it was a special occasion; we are in a popular residential neighborhood. Just a tip for future rentals - do call the police if you think it is too noisy too late. My apologies again!

Property was exactly as advertised.

Property was exactly as advertised. Extremely happy with the timeliness of response by owners to all inquiries. Would not hesitate to rent from these owners again. Have already recommended the property to a friend. The location to all things Cincinnati is extremely hard to beat. Great experience.

Nice updated Victorian in great area

  • 5 of 5

Great house that sleeps many. Nice. Updated. New tvs. Wifi. Good instructions, etc. All the things you want in a rental.

While there was a condensation/water leak with the AC syatem upon arrival (that was unknown to the owner so it must have started recently) the owner fixed and remedied it quickly. Owner was reachable and very accommodating.

We would stay there again for sure.

Owner's Response: Thank you SO much for your patience and great attitude... we do preventative maintenance and check everything often... but a house is a house! Thanks for letting us know of the problem quickly so we could get the AC repaired right away and prevent further damage. You and your group get AAA+++.

Hyde Park Square is one block away. Beautiful fountain surrounded by benches, and coffee shops, ice cream parlor, lots of restaurants, and shops. Also walk to Buskens Bakery and more shops at Rookwood Commons. Short drive to Eden Park and Ault Park, and the new restaurant area in Over the Rhine. Try Zip's for burgers close by and Arnold's downtown for a casual historic lunch.

Charming older Folk Victorian with big porch and deck under tall trees. The house has been lightly renovated and a large kitchen has been added. Great house for getting together with friends and family, inside and out.
