About Ginger Howard

We live in Jackson WY and bought this house for our Cincinnati visits a few times a year. My husband worked in commercial real estate for Jones Lang LaSalle and is now retired. I taught Montessori pre-school and grades 1-4 in public schools. We have two grown children in the San Francisco Bay area, check out our kids' creative business at leafcutterdesigns dot com. We split our time between Berkeley CA, Driggs ID, Cincinnati, and Uruguay.

Why Ginger Howard chose Cincinnati

I lived in Hyde Park while attending college. It's a great walking community - cute houses, lots of coffee shops and restaurants, and close to all the best in Cincinnati. It's a great location for exploring the city: Eden Park, Over the Rhine, Ault Park, Downtown and Covington KY.

What makes this house unique

The house has tall ceilings and a large kitchen with island and double doors to the outside. Love the front porch and garden in front, and the large yard in back. Lots of beds so you'll have flexibility with who sleeps where. But the best benefit is the location.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Cannot think of any improvements. You even catered for children from 2 months old, onwards. You even had zipper bags and anti snow salt.

What an equiped kitchen!! Your cleaners left your house AS NEW.

Perfection. Never let them go. Best, Ron

Comfortable and Complete

  • 5 of 5

The Hyde Park Victoria House served the needs of three mature sisters who wanted to stay in a comfortable house in a quiet, walkable neighborhood. We visited sites in the city and so enjoyed coming home to comfortable and plentiful seating areas. The kitchen had everything anyone could want. The 2nd floor bedrooms had big comfy beds and big closets. The overhead fans worked and were quiet. We checked the 3rd floor beds and know that younger children would love the 'slumber party' possibilities! Having off-street parking was extremely valuable. This house suited our needs - quiet and clean and comfortable and complete.

Wonderful home away from home.

  • 5 of 5

Home away is a perfect way to describe this house. The bedrooms are comfy, the house was clean as a whistle, the kitchen, deck, and porch are just lovely. We had a wonderful stay - you would not regret staying here. The owner was very responsive to any questions we had too.

Wonderful place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

Great house, great neighborhood, fantastic city! We loved it there! The house felt like home away from home...we were even a little sad to leave at the end of the week! Would definitely recommend or stay again if we visit Cincinnati in the future.

The Perfect Hyde Park Home

  • 5 of 5

We were in town for a memorial, and we loved everything about this home, the location, and the attentive owners! The huge house is a wonderful place to rest and relax, and Hyde Park Square is just a short walk away. We went to Graeter's every day, and had a wonderful evening meal at E+O! After a little mix-up with the house, Ginger and Jim couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating! We will definitely stay here again when traveling back to Cincinnati!

Very positive.

  • 4 of 5

I enjoyed the house and my visit with family in Cincinnati very much. The house in roomy and very modern yet is circa 1876, interestingly making that Civil War era seem more current to me. I appreciated the off-street parking on a fairly crowded street. I definitely recommend this house to anyone.
