About Ginger Howard

We live in Jackson WY and bought this house for our Cincinnati visits a few times a year. My husband worked in commercial real estate for Jones Lang LaSalle and is now retired. I taught Montessori pre-school and grades 1-4 in public schools. We have two grown children in the San Francisco Bay area, check out our kids' creative business at leafcutterdesigns dot com. We split our time between Berkeley CA, Driggs ID, Cincinnati, and Uruguay.

Why Ginger Howard chose Cincinnati

I lived in Hyde Park while attending college. It's a great walking community - cute houses, lots of coffee shops and restaurants, and close to all the best in Cincinnati. It's a great location for exploring the city: Eden Park, Over the Rhine, Ault Park, Downtown and Covington KY.

What makes this house unique

The house has tall ceilings and a large kitchen with island and double doors to the outside. Love the front porch and garden in front, and the large yard in back. Lots of beds so you'll have flexibility with who sleeps where. But the best benefit is the location.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Cannot think of any improvements. You even catered for children from 2 months old, onwards. You even had zipper bags and anti snow salt.

What an equiped kitchen!! Your cleaners left your house AS NEW.

Perfection. Never let them go. Best, Ron

A quality home!

My family and I greatly enjoyed our stay. Ginger was a solid communicator and we really enjoyed the home, the location, and the fact that we had parking off the street. Very convenient location - highly recommended!

Perfect Location, Perfect House

  • 5 of 5

Loved staying at this Griffiths Ave Home in Cincinnati. The closet full of games kept children from 7 to 17 happy and entertained! Everything we needed was included in the house. The layout and amenities were perfect. Highly recommend! Ginger responded to every question quickly and with enthusiasm. So much better than trying to get a hotel with older children. Everyone had their space, but we were still together as a family.

Location location location!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great stay at this Hyde Park property while in town for a wedding last weekend. It is a charming, well maintained home that is close to everything! We were happy with all the sleeping spaces and enjoyed the back deck and yard with the kiddos. It is just a short walk to restaurants, ice cream, coffee, and shops. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Absolutely gorgeous

  • 5 of 5

Our stay was perfect in this beautiful home! Ginger made sure we had everything from garbage bags to soap so we didn't need to make any emergency Kroger runs. We had so much fun walking to Hyde Park Square for an afternoon cocktail and ice cream! The home had beautiful details, especially the high ceilings and trim. We loved sitting on the deck in the evenings too.

Pretty Home in Convenient Location

  • 4 of 5

This lovely three story is so convenient--within walking distance--to Hyde Park Square, Rookwood Shopping Center and Hyde Park Plaza. Many wonderful restaurants and lots of shopping is in close proximity. We stayed here with family for my daughter's wedding and it had everything we needed. The third floor was a great place for my son and his family to have privacy and quiet where they could put the small children to bed. Too bad there is no bathroom on that floor.

The kitchen is very large and convenient and the back deck was nice for evenings and for barbecues. Other family members rented the Dutch house next door so we were able to share a couple meals and a few minutes of bird watching!

The biggest negative was the sugar ants coming into the kitchen, which Ginger is in the process of remedying. The steep stairs would be a problem for older or disabled guests. Ginger was great to work with. We enjoyed our stay and hope to return.

Hyde Park Square is one block away. Beautiful fountain surrounded by benches, and coffee shops, ice cream parlor, lots of restaurants, and shops. Also walk to Buskens Bakery and more shops at Rookwood Commons. Short drive to Eden Park and Ault Park, and the new restaurant area in Over the Rhine. Try Zip's for burgers close by and Arnold's downtown for a casual historic lunch.
