We stayed here for 3 nights for a wedding and I could not have asked for a better rental property! Despite what others have said, I thought that the apartment was very clean. The owners were extremely accommodating when our flights got moved and we had to rearrange the nights that we were staying. There was also something that was accidentally left at the apartment and the cleaners were very helpful and mailed it back to me. The location was beautiful.. quick walk to the downtown area, but very serene and quiet neighborhood!
The property is not exactly what I would call "Luxurious", but it was adequate. There were a few issues that I mentioned to the property manager shortly after our departure - the steps leading into the unit have no railings which is a safety issue and the pots and pans were so scratched that I had to purchase some to use during my stay just to name a couple. Despite these "issues", I reserved the property for the following year - BIG mistake! Due to unforeseen circumstances I had to cancel my reservation (with 5 months notice). Per the rental agreement, I received a refund of 90% of the rental rate and 0% of the ridiculous HomeAway accessed fee. HomeAway will only refund their fee if the Agent/Homeowner refunds 100% of any amounts paid. After many emails between HomeAway and the Agent, I offered to pay the rental Agent an amount equal to my forfeited deposit outside of the rental agreement and asked that she refund through the HomeAway system. This would enable me to receive a refund from HomeAway and the Agent would still have their money. The final communication with the Agent was that she could no longer see my reservation because HomeAway removed it once the reservation was cancelled. This is the ONLY time in over 20 years of rental history (hotels and homes alike), that I have not received 100% refund. Regardless of the contract terms, the Owners/Agents/Hotel Operators were very understanding and refunded all of my deposit money.
Great location. Easy walk to downtown and all the sites of old town Charleston. Big roomy house, wonderful finesses .
Would definitely stay there again.
The location of this place was great for a vacation in Charleston. We were a short distance from the heart of downtown Charleston. The kitchen was great very spacious and awesome stove/oven. The décor of the house provided a relaxing environment after full days of walking and sight seeing. The proximity to Colonial Park was awesome as this is a great area to go and sit around the lake and watch the sun set in the evenings.
This home was beautifully and uniquely furnished, and was perfect for our group. Bedding was great! We were extremely happy with this rental!
I found Claudia to be very easy to work with and our group enjoyed the house. It was clean and well appointed. The only thing that I would mention would be that the second shower is a bathtub with a hand faucet, but no shower curtain. It wasn't a problem for us and you still can't beat the price for location and cleanliness. I would stay here again
The historic peninsula city of Charleston, South Carolina is without a doubt the most beautiful of all the towns and cities in the United States. Cobbled Streets, Antebellum Mansions whispering charm, wide covered porches (called Piazza's in this Southern land), flowering fragrant gardens, sidewalks rimmed with jasmine, horse drawn carriages, a college campus draped in Spanish moss and the secrets of the past, ....Charleston has it all...and this home away from home for you is in the middle of it all...across the street from one of the most beautiful (and THE most expensive) mansion in town, an easy and delightful stroll to any and everything you might want to see: Downtown shopping, historical mansions, The Battery, White Point Gardens, Colonial Lake, The College of Charleston, The Medical University of South Carolina, some of the best restaurants in the entire nation. You can make this trip without a car if you wish. Start walking about - you will find no reason to drive anywhere
