May 2016 Vacation

  • 5 of 5

I traveled to Indian Shores for 2 weeks in May 2016. This beautiful property is located across the street from the beach and also has a pool on-site (it is quicker to walk to the beach than the pool!). The townhouse was in a safe area that deals primarily with tourists - there is noise from the street (traffic and occasional walkers), but it did not keep me up at night even on the weekends when traffic was heavier. The home had most of the kitchen supplies we needed except dishwasher soap and foil/saran wrap which we expected - starter supplies such as toilet paper and paper towels were included. The location was great for relaxing on the beach and was about 20-25 from the nearest airport and 5-10 minutes from shopping. I have recommended this property to several co-workers, friends and family member and look forward to booking a trip in the spring of 2017.

Good Townhome, Horrible Manangement

  • 2 of 5

My family stayed at Bayview Villas from April 23-30, 2016. It is right across the road from the beach and the location could not be better. There is a public beach access right across the street. The location is wonderful and the layout of the condo is perfect. Both bedrooms are upstairs (3rd floor) and there is a half bath on the main floor. It is on the street side so noise is a problem. We slept with earplugs most nights. We never heard any of our neighbors so that was a plus. There was a wagon in the garage that we weren't expecting which was perfect for hauling stuff to the beach.

Here are the problems we had: not enough towels for all the people staying in the house. I called Pinellas Vacation Rentals and they had the maid drop some off the next morning.

Floors were filthy (our feet were black), kitchen cabinets were dirty (crumbs and dried, sticky food on the shelves), dust puffing out when we raised the blinds, so many dust bunnies under the beds and around the baseboards, beds not fully made up.

I emailed the management company the next morning to let them know specifically about the floors. They said they had never had any complaints about the floors before (which isn't true if you look at the other reviews dating back from 2014). They said they sent the email to the cleaning company and would have them come out and mop the floors if we wanted that. I said we would like them to do the floors.

Days went by and we never heard anything. At that point we decided we weren't going to spend our vacation (!) fighting with them about this. I emailed Pinellas the day we left and let them know how disappointed we were. They responded that the maid had come and mopped the floors and left a card on the table while we were gone.

I let them know that the floors had NEVER been mopped. I have yet to receive a response from them.

While the location of this condo is wonderful, unfortunately for the owners, the management company isn't doing a very good job. This townhome wasn't ready for occupancy when we got there,

Impressive and confortable for a good price.

  • 5 of 5

Upon searching for many rental units in Indian shores we booked this one mainly because of it's close location to the beach and other amenities. Also one main reason was the big space. it really feels good to have a deck on the main floor and a private balcony from the master bedroom. My wife & I enjoyed staying there for 2 weeks. Some other friends joined us for 3 night and having extra washrooms & bedroom is a plus. Parking is not problem at all, the pool is available from early morning to late night. We purchased some groceries and we were able to cook properly and enjoy the unit very much. One should always remember they are not staying in a hotel room where room service is available 24/7. Reflecting upon that , overall I am very satisfied with the price/quality ratio. All amenities are available within a short driving distance. Restaurants, dry-cleaning, groceries, shopping, beach, water sports, pubs , souvenir shops and more. There were some noise during rush hour because of the proximity to the road, then again the beach was noisier at times.

I would return to this location for another vacation.

Great location, great value Townhome

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed the ease of being in a Townhome versus taking elevators in a condo. Great location, well maintained home and a great price. Especially liked both bedrooms having ensuite bathrooms. The home has all the conveniences of a short or long term stay. We occasionally cooked there and also ate out at local restaurants within walking distance. Will book it again on our next trip to Florida.

you get what you pay for

We just stayed here a couple of weeks ago and were not that impressed with this rental. It's nice that the beach is right across the street and not far from restaurants. We had actually stayed in one of the other units a couple of years ago and felt that it was a much nicer and cleaner unit. We did have an issue with the tv on our first day, however they were very prompt in helping us. These would be more suggestions on how to improve for a better vacation.

Get a better cleaning person or company, preferably one that does not smoke while cleaning. Our towels smelled like cigarette smoke, which they did promptly replace with fresh ones.

Get actual vinyl shower curtains for the bathrooms. They have two on each one but neither blocks the water, so there was always a lot of water on the floor after each use. I almost slipped the first time getting out of the shower.

Get some area rugs. I am not sure what products they use to clean the floors but they felt sticky and were not clean, our feet were constantly black from the dirty floors.

Get more seating. The sectional is too small for a family of 5. Add an extra chair at the kitchen table.

Update dinner ware, it looks pretty old and stained.

If you use the wagon for the beach, careful becaus it is pretty rusty and it got all over our towels and beach clothing.

Get some racks for wet clothing or put more hooks in the bathrooms no where to hang wet suits, and the dryer takes a sweet forever to dry. The balconies were being repaired so we could not put towels out there.
