Location, Location, Location

The main purpose for the selection of this property was its close proximity to Copacabana beach, as our plan was to watch the New Year's fireworks at that beach and transportation to and from that part of Rio on that day is notoriously difficult. Thus, insofar as that main goal was concerned, the property delivered well on that objective and we were satisfied. It took us less than 10 minutes to walk from the property to the beach. Now, the quality of the property was more of a mixed bag of pluses and minuses. On the plus side, all the A/C units worked well, which is of the most absolute importance in Rio's very hot and humid climate. The apartment was also clean, very spacious and accommodated well our whole party of 8 people. The beds, sheets, and linen were also fine, and afforded everyone a reasonable sleep. On the negative side, I would mention 2 items: 1) some cosmetic issues (a couple gaping holes on the ceiling due to some pipe maintenance, and some crooked lightning), and 2) the lack of consistent hot water for showers (by and large, most people had to deal with cold showers during our stay because the water heater did not stay on for very long). While I can live with the first problem, the latter one is not acceptable. Additionally, I would like to emphasize that the apartment does not have washing and drying machines. We were aware that this was the case before we rented. However, this was an inconvenience to us during our trip and, considering the premium price that we had to pay to stay there for NYE, we thought the lack of that amenity in an apartment was odd to say the least. As a result, I would say this property is fine, but has room for improvement.

We also must say that we agree with you. The presenc of a washer/dryer machine is very important in a property. We will analyse the situation with the owner and make sure we reach to a decision regarding this matter.
