About the property

Condo, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6)

Our beautiful 2 bedroom, 2 bath condo on the cliff in Solana Beach with a view of the breaking waves is available through 2016.

Of all the choices along the bluff in Solana Beach, Surfsong is by far the most modern and most intimate of the complexes. The complex was renovated in the past 5 years.

We are constantly updating our unit. The unit is located on the second floor. There is one floor above and one floor below, and a garage below the building. There are two assigned covered parking spaces: one in the garage below the unit and one under the tennis court. There is an elevator from the parking space in the garage to our unit. There are two tennis courts, pool and jacuzzi.

Beach Access - there are three ways to access the beach. To the north: 1) about a 5 minute walk on a concrete path along the bluff with stairs down to Fletcher Cove and then a long concrete ramp from Fletcher Cove to the beach. Or, 2) take the street from unit to Fletcher Cove to the north and walk down the ramp. To the south 3) about an 8 minute walk on the street to a set of wooden stairs to the beach.

Fletcher Cove is a park, life guard station and parking with access to the beach in Solana Beach. The park has a children's' play area, grass area and half-court basketball court. Here are links to some pictures of Fletcher Cove and the ramp and its beach access

Can't wait to return!

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed at many places in the area over several years, but we were really pleased with this Surfsong unit and found it to be exceptional in many ways. The wonderful view and cozy fireplaces were perfect for our Christmas visit. All the rooms were very spacious and comfortable. The kitchen had absolutely everything we needed. We give it an A+ . Looking forward to staying there again in the future!

Our stay at Surfsong was fantastic. Tim made it very easy for us, great communication!

The unit was exactly as advertised. There we no surprises. Access was smooth and easy. The views and breeze from this unit are fabulous. The master looks right out on the ocean. We loved the carpet in this unit. Plush and wall to wall, perfect for our little one to cruise around. We will definitely return and Tim was great to work with!

Beautiful, well-maintained condo

  • 5 of 5

We've stayed in different condos along the Solana Beach bluffs. Surfsong is one of the nicer condo complexes, and this condo has fantastic views, has modern upgrades, and is very well maintained. No negatives to this condo, as long as you don't mind walking a few (5) minutes to the main beach (Fletcher Cove) or a few more to a nice, quite beach (8 minutes to Seascape). You can stay here the whole week and not get in your car, which is nice. And there are 2 nice tennis courts and a pool right outside the condo. Tim was very easy to deal with. We would definitely come back again.

A wonderful place to stay on your vacation!

  • 5 of 5

We just had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful property. The condo set up was both spacious and well equipped with everything you could possibly need. It is very well maintained and clean. Susie and Tim were extremely helpful and responded to any questions very promptly. Now let's talk about location. The views from the windows and very large balcony are nothing less than spectacular. The sunsets are incredible and the beautiful ocean breeze is a refreshing change from the cold weather in New Jersey. It's just a very short walk to the beach by road or path. The path was my favorite way to get there because you travel through a garden with the beach next to you on top of the bluff. There are benches there so you can just enjoy the view. Also, the view of the cliffs from the beach is definitely something to see. During our visit we also visited the San Diego Zoo, Sunset Cliffs, LaJolla Beach with the remarkable seals all of which were a short drive away. Near the condo were plenty of restaurants and shops within walking distance. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone who wants a wonderful California experience and I look forward to staying here again.

Beautiful views!

  • 5 of 5

Our stay was March 28th thru April 4th 2016. Given the opportunity, we would rent this unit again in a heartbeat. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The pool was not heated until March 31st, but the Jacuzzi was nice and warm. The owners were very prompt responding to our questions. The unit itself was very nice. It could use a little refreshing, but everything in it was functional. There is a television in the Master Bedroom and the Living Room. It would have been nice to have had a TV in the 2nd bedroom too for late night watching. The views of the ocean were breathtaking. We spent a good deal of our time on the covered porch, which can accommodate six people. Solana Beach is a great area and just a short drive to many of the San Diego attractions. Beach access from the condo was less than a five minute walk in either direction. Going south you have to take a well maintained but lengthy staircase with railing to get the beach. North access is a walking ramp with a railing down to the beach. The sand on the beach is firm and perfect for long walks, strolls or jogs. Solana Beach has many restaurants and little shops within walking distance of the condo. If you love breakfast try Claire's on Cedros, the clairecakes original they are regular pancakes with cinnamon that are delicious. They even have Gluten Free clairecakes that were excellent too. Grocery stores are about a five minute car ride. The grounds are secure and the parking was indoors with easy elevator access. Bring your binoculars, the unit doesn't have any. We were lucky enough to see a pod of dolphins. You could spend hours watching the surfers. The unit had plenty of beach towels so you can save some room in your suitcase. Keep the patio door open, the sound of the surf is intoxicating. This was our first time booking with VRBO and things went smoothly. Our son David took two individual surfing lesson from the owner Christian at Progressive Surf Academy San Diego. Christian was an excellent instructor and David was able to get up on the board the very first lesson. The second lesson went even better. If you are interested in learning surfing we highly recommend Progressive Surf Academy San Diego. Another activity that we would recommend is the San Diego Zoo and the USS Midway.

Our opinion? Book 32 Surfsong, WE LOVED IT and you will too!
