Fantastic cabin in a perfect location!

  • 5 of 5

Our family abosuelty loved our stay here! The cabin was adorable and clean. The screened porch was our favorite place to hang out and look out at the water. Having the little beach right outside our door was perfect for coming and going with small children. We loved using the kayaks, swimming and fishing off the dock. Most nights we cooked dinner by the big community grill and ate at the big round table overlooking the lake. The close proximity to downtown Wolfeboro (so cute) was also loved by the whole family. Tom, the owner, clearly takes great pride in the property and ensures guests have a great stay. Can't say enough about this spot and we will definitely be back!

Owner's Response: Allison. Thank you for that wonderful review. Being the original developer of this property and able to restore it for us and the community brought me great satisfaction. Being able to share it with families like yours who appreciate the property and all of it's amenities is a pleasure. I am also happy that you had an opportunity to spend time with family staying in another cottage. Safe travels and I look forward to your return, Tom

We Came Back!!!

  • 5 of 5

Enjoyed our first visit to # 9 Museum Lodge so much, we wanted to try to recapture those wonderful days in the cabin on the Lake. We accomplished that and more......the weather was perfect for kayaking and spending time on the beach...warm days and cool nights. Our hosts Tom and Sheila couldn't have been nicer. It was a lovely week....

Peaceful, beautiful, relaxing and fun.

  • 5 of 5

We spent one week in cabin #9 at Museum Lodge on Lake Winnipesaukee and loved it! There were four of us there - husband and wife and two young adult daughters. Plenty of room and sleeping space for the four of us. The screened porch is great for relaxing during the day and sleeping at night. (You may want to bring a foam pad for extra comfort if you'll be using the sofa bed on the sleeping porch. The futon is very comfortable). The queen bed in the bedroom as well as the queen inflatable mattress in the living room sofa are both very comfortable.

Electric range, microwave, coffeemaker and fridge as well as a nicely remodeled bathroom make this cabin in the woods very convenient and comfortable. We chose the linen option as we traveled from the west coast and there were plenty of bed linens and towels for the four of us.

The grounds are just beautiful and so well maintained. We enjoyed daily outings in the kayaks and canoe. The lake is very clean and great for swimming too. The rec room with pool table and ping pong table, TV with movies and a huge library of books makes this a great place to hang out alone or as a family. It reminded me of the very best of summer camp with most of the comforts of home!

Tom is a great host and had lots of good tips for day trips around the area. The town of Wolfesboro is just a five minute drive away and has two grocery stores, lots of cute shops and a laundromat as well as several restaurants and boat rental stores.

We will definintely stay here again if we come back to New Hampshire and we highly recommend it to others looking for a peaceful getaway in the woods with the comforts of home.

Thanks Tom!

Lake Winnipesaukee is called 'the Big Lake'. A picturesque 90 minute car ride around the lake will introduce you to a myriad of special interests and attractions. Eight, unique New England Towns surround the Lake, each offering their own menu of features. The area is considered the 'oldest vacation resort' in New England.

Everything you will need is in the Town of Wolfeboro which is located about 3 miles south of Museum Lodges. There are five other, quaint, New England, Towns surrounding the Lake, each offering a variety of restaurants, shops and attractions.

Visit Castle in the Clouds, in Moultonboro and have lunch in a mountainside restaurant offering a picturesk and panoramic view of the Lake.

Visit many wonderful restaurants around the Lake for a quick breakfast or lunch or for a romantic dinner. Many family restaurants are also a good stop.
