This cabin shares a private beach, rec hall, bbq area, swim dock and many other features which will complement your vacation. Keywords: restored and romantic cottage in private waterfront condominium. Owner occupied. Waterfront, beach, rec hall, many amenities and a rare find. Convenient and simple.
We are the original developers of this special place and we had the opportunity to restore this unique property in hopes to retain its original character and charm. It worked. Museum Lodges continues to provide many with deep and memorable vacation experieces. Repeat visits are common.
Thomas E. Neve purchased this cottage in 2004
This property allowed us to share the unique qualities of days gone by. The cabins were originally built in the mid 1940's. Renovated along the way to provide guests with comfortable but simple accommodations among a wooded but waterfront location. These simple accommodations were enhanced recently to provide updated features needed for today s lifestyle but still providing and maintaining the cabins original charm.
Simplicity. Private setting and unique accommodations. Pleasant surroundings. Children friendly. Water access for all ages. Private beach and safe swim area.
We loved the view of the lake from the porch and enjoyed having our morning coffee on the dock. Such a beautiful spot and owner was very accommodating.
Our vacation at Museum Lodges couldn't have been better. The comfortable cabin was perfect as the owner had done a wonderful renovation and upgrading earlier in the spring. The quiet, private beach and waterfront area were just what we were looking for. Thoroughly enjoyed the kayaks and canoes. Seeing the loons with babies was a nature treat that was unexpected. Being so close to Wolfsboro for restaurants and shopping was a big plus. My husband and I had high expectations and they were unequivocally met. Will return.
Museum Lodges is a peaceful, cozy and charming place. My husband and I loved kayaking, relaxing and exploring. The people we met there were so warm, welcoming and friendly. Our friends visited us there and they loved the woodsy, lake-front location. Tom was very helpful and showed us everything upon our arrival. Museum Lodges is definitely a place we would revisit!
Museum Lodges is a little paradise right on Lake Winnipesaukee. My family of 6, children ages 10, 8, 6 and 4 had the time of their lives. The cabin has a rustic woodsy feel to it with all the pleasures and conveniences of home. Everything you need is right there including, kayaks, canoes, lifejackets, beach toys, lounge chairs, outside grill, table and chairs. The property is right on the lake with a swim dock and fishing dock. All of the people we met were so welcoming and helpful. The town of Wolfeboro has so much charm and plenty to do for all ages. We would highly recommend this place to all ages who like to relax and have a good time.
We had a great week at Museum Lodges. It was a good mix of privacy and friendly people.
Very kid friendly and the cottage was clean and comfortable.
We appreciated the ceiling fans for comfortable sleeping. The loons wooed us to sleep every night. The beach was clean and safe for younger swimmers, but safe diving off the end of the dock.
Loved the Libbey Museum nearby, Bailey's Bubbles for Ice Cream, and the convenience of a full grocery store just two miles away. Had a great meal at Morrissey's Front Porch.
Overall very pleased, and Tom was very helpful with any questions.
This was a very enjoyable trip. The lake was calm and peaceful. Surroundings were quiet except for the loons, which was a welcomed distraction while staring at the glass like water. Fire on the beach was relaxing. Town is close enought to stock up on all of your necessary provisions....wheather your forgot something, or needed everything! All in all, it was a great trip!
Lake Winnipesaukee is called 'the Big Lake'. A picturesque 90 minute car ride around the lake will introduce you to a myriad of special interests and attractions. Eight, unique New England Towns surround the Lake, each offering their own menu of features. The area is considered the 'oldest vacation resort' in New England.
Everything you will need is in the Town of Wolfeboro which is located about 3 miles south of Museum Lodges. There are five other, quaint, New England, Towns surrounding the Lake, each offering a variety of restaurants, shops and attractions.
Visit Castle in the Clouds, in Moultonboro and have lunch in a mountainside restaurant offering a picturesk and panoramic view of the Lake.
Visit many wonderful restaurants around the Lake for a quick breakfast or lunch or for a romantic dinner. Many family restaurants are also a good stop.
