I have two units of Wyndham Grand Desert 2-Bedroom Presidential Suites. You may rent one or both of the suites, but I prefer you rent both units. The listing rate is for both units of the 2BR Presidential Suites. The rates are all inclusive, no hidden cost such as additional tax, cleaning / housekeeping fee or resort fee. These are two separate units that may be assigned to different areas of the resort. Please contact the owner first if you want to rent only one of the two suites, or want to make sure the units are close to each other.
This luxury and family-friendly condo is only one block from the world famous Las Vegas Strip. Each suite has a fully-equipped kitchen, a dining room, a spa tub in the master bedroom, and two large bedrooms with plenty of closet and storage space. It also has washer and dryer inside each unit. If you rent both suites together, they can hold 2-4 families of 8-12 people. It is a perfect vacation home for a large family or group of friends.
This Mediterranean-style, mega resort has three towers that allow for beautiful mountain, dramatic city and charming courtyard view of our lagoon-style pool. You can bask on the spacious sundeck, work out in one of two fitness centers, or even enjoy a relaxing massage. The resort also offers tanning beds, a sauna, 4 outdoor hot tubs, Internet access and an activities center offering a variety of recreation games, videos and activities. There is no casino on site which makes Wyndham Grand Desert the perfect resort for families looking to savor some family-time fun, or non-gambling couples who are more interested in the variety of spectacular shows Las Vegas as to offer.
Went with 11 family members and had presidential suite and deluxe suite. Check-in was ridiculously slow and it felt a little like you were getting "nickel and dimed" for stuff (shuttles, etc.)
Rooms were awesome. Clean and nice finishes. Very spacious. Perfect for the family to gather in
We come to Vegas often for Trade Shows and want to keep clear of the casino's, but stay close to the convention centers. This place is perfect for our needs. The units are large, comfortable, quite and have kitchens. There is also a reasonably priced cafe on site. The owner was very communicative and great to work with. We will stay here again for future events.
Dealing with Hao was a breeze. His communication was prompt and straightforward.
The Wyndham Grand Desert was a pleasant stay. The pools here are large with lots of seating, and the staff extremely friendly. The condos themselves were nicely appointed, with enough kitchen equipment to cook sizable meals. The location was excellent (10 minute walk to the MGM casino floor through Top Golf's parking lot; 10 minutes walk to the Ellis Island Casino). Given Strip prices these days, with ever-escalating rates, non-sense resort fees and parking fees, I don't imagine ever paying to stay there again. Why bother? We got two 2-bedroom, 2-bath condos for essentially the price of one room for a three night stay at one of the nicer Strip properties. So 10 of us saved a bundle.
It wasn't a perfect stay, however. We were there on a very busy (Memorial Day) weekend; we were not able to check in on Friday upon arrival, so we left our bags in our car (free parking), and headed to a casino. We got a call saying our rooms were ready (we asked for, and were told we'd have, adjoining rooms), but when we returned, someone else told us they were not. I was later directed to a "VIP" table (i.e., people having issues that needed solving), and my group was immediately put in rooms. Problem was, they were not in the same building. And, because the WGD makes you use your keycard to use the elevators, we couldn't get to one anothers' rooms unless one of our party went down to the lobby to let them in. It was a hassle--not the end of the world, but nor great. However, if you don't have multiple rooms booked, or you're able to secure the two together, or don't really care about being in the same building, this shouldn't be a big deal for you. Also, we didn't get any hard-sell time share pitch, which was welcome.
All in all, I highly recommend this option as an alternative to staying on the Strip. Unless you desperately need to be able to walk from your lobby right out into the pedestrian traffic on the strip (perhaps because you inordinately love drunks dressed in beat-up childrens character costumes, or hammered tourists wearing yards of gooey tropical drinks around their necks), look no further.
It's a great place, on the south side of the strip behind the MGM grand. It's much more relaxed and laid back than any strip hotel. there's no casino on site and they have quiet hours at night. Rooms were great. No complaints.
The owner was very easy to work with and very responsive.
The rooms were nicely appointed and everything was smooth and easy. The property doesn't have a casino, which was a great (and refreshing) thing for us. I also liked being off the Strip since it meant the rooms were super quiet and remarkably peaceful, even though all the madness is just a short walk away.
I'd recommend this to anyone who wants to enjoy all that Vegas has to offer from a more refined and relaxing vantage point.
