This has got to be one of the most stocked homes I have had the pleasure of renting.

Kitchen: Most importantly - their knives are ACTUALLY SHARP and can CUT without you having to hack away at your food. I've always had an issue at rentals with this and normally bring my own knife (which I have sadly left behind before) but not here!!! Also stocked kitchen with lots of bowls, knives, plates, cups, big bowls for marinating. Love the duel oven option as well though we pretty much grilled everything and didn't need to use it but definitely good to know for the future. 2 fridges to stock all your food for a long weekend (and for 20 people).

Rooms: Enough rooms for privacy for most everyone. The master bedrooms are huge!

Entertainment: Games galore in the basement with FLASHBACK From the PAST for my 80's babies with the original NES system & Lots of games! I definitely played a few games and relived my childhood. Also had a bunch of other game consoles. Pool table, air hockey, ping pong table, volleyball net, and so much more.

Dock, etc.: Best dock in the area of homes - had a swing, table, mini sand beach perfect for the kiddies (we had a 3 yr old with us who absolutely loved getting in the water from there), a hammock, diving board. Oh and 2 canoes for your to use as well! Just perfect.

AMY: Very responsive and very accommodating. I think I had the most questions for her than other homeowners in the past since I had such a large group and she was very kind and just amazing.

OVERALL - just an amazing beautiful home. The open layout of the kitchen is awesome so that the cooks aren't confined & left out. Easy access to all the information you need right in the family room coffee table. Just very well thought-out rental. I have rented a lot of properties and this has got to be one of the best overall. Everyone in our group of 20 LOVED the home. Really was wonderful and definitely will be booking this place again. <3 Thanks for everything Amy!

Enjoyed a family weekend in this beautiful home. Amy was great and answered my many questions. There were games galore that my family enjoyed. The pool table, air hockey, ping pong table and so many different gaming systems had every one entertained. Thank you so much Amy! Highly recommend this beautiful home right on the lake with a beautiful view!

Overall good

Our group had a great time in the house. Here are some pros and cons

Pros: House was equipped with so many entertainment and space it allowed our group to really bond. All rooms were spacious enough for each family who paid the same amount so they felt like that got their share of the house. The view was beautiful although we thought we would have a large view of Lake Anna. Still, a beautiful site in the morning. There were windows everywhere. Hot tub and fire pit were great additions to the house. Boat area/swings were entertaining for all ages!

Cons: Small oven had so much food residue from previous use that we couldn't use it. It would burn every time we turned it on. Utensils, pots/pans were overused. However, we were still able to make delicious meals =). There were no dishwasher detergent so one of us had to make a grocery trip out. The checkout list was burdensome- all of us was extra cautious and caused unnecessary stress that our security deposit would be taken away. We have stayed at other Homeaway homes and never seen such a list.

Thank you for the wonderful stay.

Owner's Response: Hi Anna. Thank you for the feedback. The cleaners were not clear on your comment about the 'small' oven (toaster oven?) They saw no issues with any of the ovens and reported them all clean and in working order. Two skillets and a cook pot are being added to the kitchenware but I try not to throw out older items unless they are unusable. There are some large groups that come in that make some equally large meals, so I figure some extra cookware may be welcomed, even if it is not brand new. Kitchen utensils appear to be in good shape and adequate. My apologies for the absence of the dishwasher pods - this was an oversight. I really wish you had not stressed over the checkout list. I try hard not to withhold any deposit unless there is abuse or neglect. The items on the checkout list are minor and many are intended as 'reminders' as guests may not realize the consequences of not doing so (like lowering umbrellas and latching the hot tub cover if you used them, so they don't blow away). I'm glad you enjoyed your stay and welcome you and your party back in the future! Amy

Well maintained adult/kid/dog friendly retreat

  • 5 of 5

Our group of 13 adults, one toddler, one infant, and one dog loved this property. Pros: large main room/kitchen area, outdoor gated deck, gas grill, large fire pit, dock area with the sandy beach, plenty of parking on quiet street, and the downstairs rec room and bar area. Cons: It's minor but only one full bathroom upstairs for four bedrooms (but 1 full bath and 2 half baths on the main level and 1 full bath in the basement). The house is very well maintained and clean. The owner, Amy, was very responsive and reasonable. We would absolutely rent again!

Refreshing time at the Lakehouse

  • 5 of 5

The house was gorgeous and the owner was accommodating to our Christian Young Adult group for our first ever winter retreat. The house is FULL of amenities and things to do. We hope to stay here again in the future.

Wedding. Family Weekend.

  • 5 of 5

We recently stayed the weekend at this beautiful property. We came up on Friday and had our wedding in the backyard on Saturday. Talk about amazing. The views, the land, the house is so spacious, and there is something for everyone. My 7 year old enjoyed the old school Nintendo and the games. He also loved playing ping pong, air hockey, and pool while the adults enjoyed the amazing kitchen and family time. Sadly we were too busy to put the hot tub to use, but everything was just lovely.

Pros: Amy is super helpful and quick to respond to a bazillion questions.

House easily accommodates large groups and families.

Lots of seating and activities.

Gorgeous views.

The only con I can think of is the second oven wasn't working so we did have a bit of trouble getting all the food cooked for the wedding in a timely manner, but I know she is getting that fixed and it was just a timing issue.

I can't wait until we can bring our family back for a more relaxing vacation and for a longer period of time!

Thanks Amy!!

Owner's Response: Stephanie - So happy your special day was blessed with beautiful weather and fun time for all. Very unfortunate on the timing of the breakdown of the wall oven, but yes, a new combination microwave and convection/bake wall oven was installed in the following week. Best wishes for a lifetime of happiness and love to you and your family!
