About the property

Newly renovated ocean view duplex condos, close to the beach

Our King Suite has an amazing ocean view and has been recently renovated. It is 700 sq. feet with an open concept kitchen/dining/living area. It is the upper unit of our duplex. Details of the King Suite is below. We also have a Queen Suite which is also one bedroom, and has an ocean view. See our other listing #4235877 for more details or contact us at vistamarcostarica@gmail.com. Units can be rented individually or together at a discounted rate.

The King Suite has a fully equipped kitchen and an expansive, open-concept kitchen/living/dining area. The newly renovated kitchen has granite counter tops, hardwood cabinets, a stainless steel four burner stove and oven, microwave, a full sized stainless steel refrigerator and all the small appliances and cookware you will need to prepare a meal or to recreate the local Tico cuisine, all in the comfort of your very own condo. The open-concept dinning area, with a hardwood dinning table, and both booth and traditional seating can accommodate 6+ people, which makes it a great area for entertaining.

Beyond the open double archways is the living area, which features a custom-made trundle daybed. The daybed can be converted to 2 twin beds or an additional king sized bed. Each bed has a twin size mattress and a memory foam topper for additional comfort. There is additional seating and a flat screen TV, as well as high-speed internet throughout the unit.

The bedroom features a king sized bed with a pillow-top mattress and memory foam topper. The newly renovated bathroom has a beautiful stone tiled shower and granite counter top.

The King Suite comfortably sleeps up to 4 people. In addition, a twin-sized raised, inflatable mattress can be set up, upon request, to accommodate another individual for a maximum occupancy of 5. This suite is equipped with 3 ceiling fans, as well as 2 A/C units located in the bedroom and in living area.

See HomeAway #4235877 for detailed information about the Queen Suite which is located directly below our King Suite and connected by an outside stairway. Both units are separate and have a private entrance. There is a rod iron gate providing separation from the other units.

Both suites have two sets of floor to ceiling tri-fold doors open to a juliet balcony offering views of the Pacific Ocean, Cathedral Point and dense rainforest that surround our complex. Toucans, sloths, and monkeys migrate through these very trees and can be spotted right from the comfort our suites. There is also a hammock which can easily be set up to relax and enjoy the view in your slice of paradise. Just down the stairs from our units is a pool to cool off after a day of adventure tours which can be arranged by our personal concierge. Just up the stairs is our on-site, ocean view restaurant.

About Steve and Renee

Our family first visited Costa Rica in 2001 after our insistent 5 year old demanded we help her save the rain forest. It was during this first visit that we were captivated by a land where the jungle meets the sea. Manuel Antonio was like unlike any exotic local we had visited in the past. The people, flora and fauna drew us back for many more vacations during the next decade. We traveled extensively throughout the country, but no area compared to our first love of Manuel Antonio. Manuel Antonio has it all- beautiful beaches, jungle teaming with wildlife and warm sunshine. All of this and an abundance of amenities including excellent restaurants, adventure tours and friendly Ticos (native Costa Ricans) who welcome you to experience all the wonders their country has to offer.

Steve and Renee purchased this condo in 2014

Why Steve and Renee chose Manuel Antonio

After years of visiting Manuel Antonio, we decided to purchase a small piece of paradise. With the purchase of Villa Vista Mar, we are able to experience what the Costa Ricans refer to as Purda Vida, pure life. It is this lifestyle that we would like to share with our guests.

What makes this condo unique

Our spectacular ocean view and location, within walking distance to the best restaurants and cafe's the area had to offer, as well as local beaches and Manuel Antonio National Park, make Villa Vista Mar a top choice when choosing a vacation rental. Also, the attention from our concierge team (before and during your stay) and extensive renovations to both units provide our guest with the best vacation experience.

You get it all .. location, accommodation, vacatio

  • 5 of 5

We did quite some research before booking, and it was well worth the time.

We stayed in the King suite w/ our teenage son and had it all. The condo is clean, comfy, spacious, and equipped with everything you need. The pictures and description match what you get. And use the hammock!

The location is perfect and is close to a couple of restaurants and the bus. Taking the bus is easy and fun, and you're in Quepos or Manuel Antonio in a heartbeat. Walking to the Beach is not hard either .. ~20- 25 mins, just be ready for the climb on the way back home.

With Geralyn we also had a very helpful concierge that helped planning a number of activities prior to arrival. Highly recommend going rafting, preferred that over zip-lining.

So in a nutshell: all you can ask for - and more. Highly recommend the condo. Hope this was not our last stay there in Renee's and Steve's condo. A gem.

Loved our stay!

  • 5 of 5

My husband, 7 year old son and I stayed in the King suite for 12 nights starting Feb 11/17. It was our first trip to Costa Rica, let alone Manuel Antonio. The condo is very well situated and we quickly (and easily) learned how to take the (cheap!) public transportation either north to Quepos or south to the Beach. The condo had more than enough room for the three of us; we actually moved the single mattress onto the floor of the bedroom so our son was near us and it worked perfectly. Used the stove every day for cooking meals and loved having a full sized fridge for our fresh fruit and farmer's market finds! I definitely recommend booking with Renee if you're staying in the Manuel Antonio area!

Amazing location!

  • 5 of 5

Wow! Great location, easy drive or walk to everything. Perfect condo for families we are a family of five and can never be comfortable in hotels. Everyone had their own comfortable bed! The condo was in the heart of where we wanted to be in Manuel Antonio but with privacy and away from anything too loud. But in walking distance to evening enjoyment and restaurants . Geralyn was very informative and was there for our arrival.Comunication with the owner Renee was also very easy and smooth. Overall stay at this condo was probably the best part of our stay in Costa Rica !

Fantastic Accommodations with a Stunning View

  • 5 of 5

Having learned how vague directions can sometimes be in Costa Rica, our wonderful concierge Shiona guided us into town by phone and met us on the side of the road! She hopped in our car and took us right to the door. She could not have been more friendly or helpful.

We stayed in the king suite, which was more than spacious enough for the two of us. Upon arrival, Shiona gave us a quick run-down of the places to see and where to eat, as well as some great insider information on which local attractions were best for safety and customer service, etc. El Santuario Canopy Adventure zip-lining was a spot-on suggestion. This location is very central to the beach, the national park, grocery store, bank machine and a great restaurant, Cafe Agua Azul which is just steps away from the villa.

As for the suite, we felt right at home, except with monkey shows and ocean vistas right off of the balcony! The hammock by the big sliding doors provides a nice vantage point to see the many birds, monkeys and iguanas across the street, not to mention a perfect view of the Pacific! The bed was super comfortable and we took full advantage of the kitchen after buying some groceries from the store at the end of the driveway.

The amazing beach is within walking distance, roughly 15 minutes downhill on the way there, a little more taxing up the hill on the way home but totally manageable. Shiona can tell you the best taxi drivers if that is more your style.

We can't say enough about this fantastic property & Shiona. We hope to return one day soon!

Pura Vida!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed @ Villa Vista Mar 5 nights in March 2016. Geralyn was an incredibly helpful concierge. She was quick to respond & helped us with transportation & tours. Beautiful, clean property & convenient location near bus stop, many restaurants/bars & groceries. We stayed in the upper King Suite which includes a full kitchen. This was great for refrigerating all the delicious fresh fruit available in Costa Rica! We traveled with our daughter & 3 of her friends joined us mid week. There was plenty of room & Geralyn provided us with an extra air bed. We toured/hiked Rainmaker Mountain & Manuel Antonio National Park, para-sailed @ Playa Espadilla and kayaked the Isla Damas mangroves - all great activities. Our only regret is not being able to stay longer & tour Nauyaca Waterfall & Zip-line!

Amazing view, great location

  • 5 of 5

We stayed 4 nights at Villa Vista Mar with our 6 y/o daughter. The view from the condo is quite amazing, and we found that the condo itself was very well maintained and well equiped. It is right next to Agua Azul (our favourite restaurant in the area) and it's possible to walk to many other restaurants, cafés, a gym and to the grocery store. Geralyn, the concierge, was very nice.
