marti nordskog and bill waters purchased this house in 1999
We have both lived in the South Bay for many years, Bill born and raised here. When we met, we both had a house & a dog. When we decided to buy a house together, we both fell in love with the craftsmanship as well as all the antique and unique features it had to offer and only 5 blocks to the beach. What a challenge it was, fixing it up and adding more 'Victorian' to its charm.
We loved all the wood details in the interior. Doors from a hotel, staircase and wainscoting from a Chicago Estate sale. Cut glass windows and stained glass doors & windows all from estate sales and antique auctions.

Marti and Bill are the perfect hosts. They are hospitable, kind and welcoming. Beyond that, their home is absolutely beautiful. My wife and I were in awe from the time we walked through the door (actually, walking up to the house was amazing, too. They had fantastic Christmas decorations!). Next time I plan on going to SoCal, I'm definitely going to try and book with Mari and Bill again. Thanks for making our weekend getaway perfect!
What a great place to stay! Bill and Marti are exceptional hosts. The rooms are comfy and super clean. The house is simply charming and takes you back in time. The backyard is a small oasis and particularly romantic at night. They offer bikes and beach chairs. We stayed in the room with balcony and loved having coffee there every morning. Can't say enough about this place.
I spent 3 nights at this Wonderful Victorian house near the Ledondo Beach. The furniture, garden and pretty Coco impressed us during the stay. Bill and Marti are very kind and polite so I didn't have any problems at booking and staying. Redondo beach is a place I love in this area, so I was happy to stay here. I strongly recommend this beautiful Victorian house and hosts.
This is a lovely Victorian style home lovingly decorated and maintained by Mari and Bill. Very clean. The veranda was lovely. The amenities were well thought out. We didn't need a thing. I would stay again in a heart beat!
Very gracious hosts. Helpful and friendly. Would Definitely Stay Here again
This was our first experience using VRBO and we were very pleased with how it worked out. When we decided on the property, which we chose by the location somewhat near where our daughter lives, we immediately emailed Marti and Bill to answer several questions regarding what we needed to do and what they offered, and their response was very prompt and informative. The price was reasonable for the area.
The lovely Victorian style home has many stairs leading up to the front door and more leading up to our guest room, but they were very accommodating in helping us maneuver our luggage. Our room was quite large with lots of space for our luggage and a charming, Victorian style bathroom which was very clean. All the necessary amenities including a Keurig with coffee and tea were provided. The best part was the balcony off our room which had lots of seating and overlooked their beautiful garden. Before we left, they took us on a tour of the whole house and made the experience very comfortable and inviting. They are both lovely and friendly people and we would definitely stay here again when we go back to Redondo Beach.
Several beach areas with restaurants are just a short drive away and there is plenty of parking on the street whenever we moved the car. We would definitely stay here again next time we are in the area.
Our property is 5 blocks to the beach. activities include: swimming, surfing, beach combing, hiking, biking (free bikes), hiking, walking, also whale watching, horse back riding, and many more activities.
