We arrived at the property unsure what to expect, as it is difficult to get a true feeling for the place from the website. We were also unfamiliar with the area. We ended up very happy with all aspects of our visit. We are a family of seven, with kids aged 13-21, so we tend to occupy a lot of space, just for your reference. So here's what to expect. The house is well-kept, about 1600 square feet all on one level, in a wooded community of mostly similarly-modest abodes. It is not opulent in any way, but comfortable, cheery, and it suited our needs splendidly. The front half of the house is the common area, consisting of a kitchen with a huge island that connects in open-plan fashion with a comfortable living room. We ate at the island, which has 5-6 chairs and 4 stools. There is a large sofa in the living room that can accommodate several large adolescents and several other chairs, so it is easy for a large family to gather there and enjoy social time, or in our case, watch the Olympics on a good large screen tv. The bedrooms and bathrooms were likewise comfortable. We ate in about 5 nights, and found the kitchen adequate to all tasks, with supplies easily found at a nearby Food Lion grocery store. Drug stores, a Dunkin Donuts, gas station, a good bakery, and a bank are also close by. The jewel in the local crown is Assateague Island National Seashore. Great family beach, plus ranger-led activities and the horses. We did a crabbing program and a kayak excursion on the bay, both wonderful. Ocean City has its garish attractions, and we enjoyed it in small doses--the Boardwalk, Trimpers Amusement Park, ice cream at Dumsers etc. Both destinations are easily accessed with a 20 min drive. Northside Park in OC is worth a look, and also offers kayak rentals. If you like antiquing and the charms of a nice small downtown, Berlin's downtown is great. Finally, the owners are attentive in case of any issues, communicate quickly, and are a pleasure to work with.
Our family greatly enjoyed a week at this home. The owners have done a lot to make the home comfortable including providing a stocked kitchen, proper cleaning supplies, comfy beds, and lots of blankets. We enjoyed the open kitchen/living room area for all of our family activities. The passes to the OP Beach Club and Assateague are a must for a stress-free vacation! We hope to here stay again next year.
Great place to stay.
Lots of room for sitting in the great room.
Plenty of appliances in kitchen for just about anything you want to serve up.
Bikes on deck.
Close to Ocean City, stores, and Assateague Island.
Owner is great.
Had a great time everything I expected and more. Would like to know when I will receive my refundable deposit back
Our family with small children stayed at this property for two nights. It was great to have access to the ocean pines pool at ocean city. We had a lot of fun. The house was nice and was clean. There were plenty of comfortable beds and the house seems well equipped. We enjoyed seeing the horses at the state park. It was a lot fun!
Our only concern was that there were several insect traps around the house in inconspicuous places. We were not aware that these insect traps were on the floor and two of our young kids touched the traps. Thankfully we noticed right away before anyone put anything into their mouths. Parents be careful! We found the traps in the main living room, master bedroom and on the deck. Overall we had a nice trip, although we had a scare with the insect traps on the floor.
We would return to this house but would ask that the traps be removed before our arrival. Have fun!
We just got back from a great week staying in the quiet community of Ocean Pines. The house was perfect for my family of 4 and my in-laws. We all had our own space plus room to spare. The spacious living room and kitchen area gave everyone room to sit plus more! The property was clean and well maintained. We had everything that we needed from a new washer and dryer, to bikes, to tons of extra blankets and pillows. The owner was prompt to answer any questions that we had. The house is located in a quiet community great for bike rides and walks. The Ocean Pines community is FULL of activities for the kids and adults if you want. Plus you are only 15 minutes from Ocean City! The parking pass and 4 passes to the 49th Ocean Pines Beach Club provided by the owner was GREAT! Overall it was a great affordable place to stay!
There is so much to do in Ocean city! First, the beach is about a 5-10 minute drive depending on traffic and you can park right in the lot at the Ocean Pines beach Club. We provide 1 pass for parking..but there is always more parking by the road. Also included are 4 pool passes for the Beach Club pool. There is a restaurant and bar as well as showering/changing facilities and a pool. Makes life easy!
Assateague Island is a must see and we provide one parking pass for your convenience. It is about 15 minutes away, but an easy drive. We usually go to this beach because it is less crowded and you can see the horses. You can also kayak there. You can bring your grill out at night and also have a campfire! We always have a great time. We usually stop at the BBQ Pit on the way home and the food is amazing!
You can go to the boardwalk in OC at night and there are tons of shops/food and an amusement park.
You can take a ride to Bethany Beach which is a lovely, quaint, beach town with restaurants and a boardwalk.(15 min)
There is para sailing, jet skiing, fishing, biking, golf, tennis as well as a casino very close by. There is a lot of mini golf, go-carts as well as an outlet mall near by (10 min) You can also explore Berlin which is a little historic town.
There is always tons to do and see in Ocean City, MD!!
