Simon is Canadian, Ada is Italian. We met in Africa while we were both humanitarian workers. We are now living in Montreal. Simon is a documentary filmmaker and scriptwriter and Ada is a midwife. We love to travel and we will be happy to help you discover a beautiful region of Italy where Ada grew up.
Simon and Ada purchased this apartment in 2014
Capriano del Colle is Ada's hometown. The accomodation is located in the farm where she grew up among cows, hens and tractors. The farm is more than 400 year old. No longer used for agriculture or livestock farming, it was completely restored in 2014 and turned into living areas to accomodate all the family members. We live in Canada and this is our gathering place to spend quality time with the sisters, nephews, niece, mother and extended family who live in the same building or nearby. You will be welcomed by the 'famiglia'!
My husband and two friends planned a cruise out of Venice to the Greek Isle for 10 days and decided to make the most of our trip by booking this home for a week prior to the cruise. Since we have never done this before, I decided to do my research and find a location in a quaint town that was only 2 hours from Venice. What a wonderful choice it was. The apartment was clean, very spacious and all the comforts of our own homes. We had the pleasure of meeting the owners; Simone and Ada who were as gracious and helpful as a concierge in a 5-star hotel. The description that Simone and Ada had posted on VRBO was exactly that and more. We had visited several medieval towns and castles and even did day trips to the beautiful surrounding lakes; Lake Garda, Lake Sirmone, Lake Como and a train ride to Milan. And of course the nearby town of Brescia. Our only regret is that we spent so much time driving during the day around the surrounding areas that we missed a lot of the beauty and history our village had to offer. However, we always made it back home to relax and have a wonderful meal that my friend and I cooked accompanied by a good bottle of wine from a nearby vineyard; “La Vigna”. Another treat, was when Simone and Ada made reservations for us to visit La Vigna vineyard for a private wine tasting and tour. What a charming, gracious host were the owners. They took the time to explain the history of the vineyard and the process of their wines. We’ve visited Bordeaux, France, Portugal and Napa Valley, California and never before have we had the pleasure of tasting the “birth” of a wine. This was definitely one of the highlights of our trip. The wine was excellent. This is a must… Available in the apartment was a book with all the information on restaurants, markets and attractions. I am definitely recommending my friends and family to come and stay in this apartment. It is definitely a good location in Italy.
We liked staying at this house in Capriano del Colle. We had a warm welcome and the owner showed us the house and even bought some groceries so we could have breakfast the next morning. The house is modern, spacious and clean. Everything you need is available.
Simon & Ada thanks for staying at your property. I hope we can come back some day.
Abbiamo soggiornato in questo appartamento per 3 giorni, i proprietari sono veramente gentili e disponibile, inoltre lo casa in se è tenuta benissimo e ha praticamente tutto il necessario per alloggiare
Lo consiglio vivamente
Thanks La Familia for the great hospitality. We felt like Italian kings for a weekend. The house is amazing and it was clean and comfortable, we had everything we needed, the atmosphere was magical and the location was perfect!!(loved the Capriano wine!!). We are already planing our next trip...
