This comfortable semi-detached home is located in a quiet neighbourhood right in the town of Golden, BC within walking distance of all amenities and a short 20 minute drive to Kicking Horse Mountain Resort. The home features two full floors of living space - 1600 sq. ft. including 6 private guest rooms sleeping up to 6; 3 queen and 3 double/full guest rooms, no hide-a-beds! Also, two full bathrooms, two living areas - one with wet bar, a fully equipped kitchen, dining room, laundry facilities, wifi and Shaw Direct satellite TV. Clean, convenient and very affordable, this home away from home in Golden is the perfect space for family vacations or a group of friends ready for authentic mountain adventure!

Outdoors you'll find a fully fenced yard with mountain views all around, a covered patio with comfortable outdoor seating, BBQ, beautiful gardens, flowers, fruit trees, a koi pond, and a 4-5 person hot tub for pure relaxation. Parking is available for 3-4 vehicles.

Enjoy jogging, walking or cycling on the town of Golden’s extensive trails. Cross the Kicking Horse River on the longest freestanding pedestrian bridge in North America. A wide variety of restaurants and pubs are close at hand offering something for every taste. Go for swim, catch a movie, head down to a pub or take in an outdoor concert on a beautiful summer evening. Ski, bike, hike, climb, jump, golf, float, paddle, soak, explore — there are so many options for the outdoor enthusiast in both winter and summer that the list is practically endless!

The home is conveniently located in a quiet residential area of the town of Golden called Alexander Park. It's within walking distance of everything... downtown shops, dining, cafés, pubs, groceries, liquor store, museum, outdoor swimming pool and spray park, kids outdoor playpark, tennis courts, outdoor skate park, climbing gym, fitness centre, bowling alley, cruiser bike rentals, movie theatre, Golden civic centre, indoor arena, campground, walking trails, and the confluence of the Kicking Horse and Columbia Rivers.

A 12 minute (7.0 km) drive will take you to our BC PGA award winning Golden Golf and Country Club, 20 minutes (13.6 km) will take you to Kicking Horse Mountain Resort for skiing and snowboarding and summer mountain biking. Skate and classic cross country skiing on 33 km of groomed trails can be found at Dawn Mountain Nordic ski area are just a short distance beyond Kicking Horse Mountain Resort and more groomed trails are located on the golf course in winter. For those with a passion for paragliding, hang gliding or extreme mountain biking, the Mt 7 Launch site, Canada's premier launch site at 4,000 ft above the valley floor is 15.7 km or a 40 minute drive from town.

Some of the best hiking you will find anywhere in the world is right on our doorstep, in the surrounding Rocky, Purcell and Selkirk mountains. We are close to 6 National Parks, Yoho, Banff, Glacier, Kootenay, Mount Revelstoke and Jasper. Wildlife watching, mountaineering, rock climbing, ice climbing, kayaking, rafting, canoeing, paddle boarding, heli and cat skiing, sledding, sky diving... it's all here waiting for you!

About Carolyn Lilgert

Hi! I’m a semi-retired graphic designer living in Golden, BC with my husband. Now empty nesters, we love it here, and enjoy down hill skiing, nordic skiing, hiking, golf, camping, kayaking and obviously gardening! We own half of this semi-detached property and live close by. We deal with our guests directly – from key exchanges, to cleaning, to repairs, and anything in between. We hope that you will find everything you need to enjoy a comfortable stay in our fully furnished home, and if there is anything else you think you might need, from board games to Crockpots, I’ve probably got it, don’t be afraid to ask! Why Carolyn Lilgert chose Golden

We bought this semi-detached home in 2007 as a vacation home for our family who is spread out over Canada and the UK. We knew our kids would come home to visit if we lived in Golden and of course they bring their friends!!

After a lot of renovations, the place really began to grow on us and with our youngest son's approval, we sold our home in Alberta, and moved here permanently in 2008. We purchased a home nearby and have been operating this home as a vacation rental since 2014.

What makes this house unique

One of the greatest benefits to our guests is the convenience of staying in town with lots of indoor and outdoor space. It’s a great space for families with kids, or a bunch of friends. Everyone gets their own private guest room, no bunks or hide-a-beds here and a bonus of having quiet surroundings and beautiful gardens to enjoy.

Golden is small enough that you can walk to everything, and if you're planning on dinner or a night out on the town, you can have a couple of drinks and let your hair down without worrying about getting home safely. There are tons of things to do right here in town and if your plans take you out of town for the day, we're centrally located to everything.

Amazing accommodations and Carolyn was fantastic!

My sister, niece, nephew and his girlfriend who were visiting from Israel and I stayed at the rental for 3 nights. The rental unit was better than advertised! We had so much space to use both inside and outside. Outside there were 2 areas to use; the first was an eating area that was big enough to accommodate all of us plus our 2 cousins that came for lunch. We moved to the the seating area where we enjoyed the cool breeze with seating for all of us and more. The hot tub was so lovely and the fountain and pool of Koi fish added to the serenity of the yard.

Carolyn was readily available for questions and suggestions of things to do locally in Golden as well as anything else we needed. Carolyn checked in with us after our arrival and was so warm and friendly.

The inside of the unit was so clean and welcoming. The bedrooms were spacious and an added bonus of 3 bedroom downstairs with a tv and entertaining area as well as the living room dining room upstairs. The kitchen was equipped with everything that you would need to cook and enjoy your stay.

As we were leaving Golden, I got a flat tire and called Carolyn to see if she knew of a place to stay and said she would check. Carolyn took the time to look for a place and found a Super 8 very reasonably priced.

Thank you Carolyn and your husband too for making our stay extra special. We have been telling everyone of us find in Golden and how amazing a time we had.

The property was great and was exactly what we needed

The property was great. The only issue was that the neighbors called the owner because of noise. The bylaw was for 11:00 PM so I thought you could be outside visiting with your friends until 11:00. There was no music on at all just sitting outside. The owner was upset because the neighbors called. All they had to do was say that if we were still outside laughing at 11:01 then they could call the owner and thus this would become an issue for me as the renter of the property. Sending me a voice mail saying that this was unacceptable behavior and threatening me that the police would be called should not be sent until after 11:00 PM. I did not call the owner the next morning because they started working on the roof next door before 7:00 AM

Owner's Response: Thank you, Niels. If guests are outside enjoying the evening chatting, no music then I see no problem at all, even past 11 pm. It becomes a problem when the noise is excessive. Two of my neighbours, one adjacent to the A side and one directly behind called me to complain within 5 mins of each other as one or more of the gentlemen sitting outdoors on the A side were yelling and hollering. When staying in a residential area guests need to consider the fact that the neighbours typically have work and school during the week. Your stay at my properties was on a Monday and Tuesday night. Short term rentals located in residential areas have to be very considerate of the neighbours. My business depends on it. When I met you at the house Niels, on the night you arrived I told you exactly what I’ve repeated above. When I came down to talk to the men who were sitting out on the patio, you were inside the other unit and did not answer my call or my knock on the door. It is the responsibility of the guest who books the unit to ensure that the other guests have read and understand the rules. The rules that you signed and accepted when you made your booking include #7 below. 7. NOISE: Quiet times between the hours of 11:00pm and 7:00am must be observed. Excessive noise and loud music will NOT be tolerated at ANYTIME. Please consider that you are staying in a residential area and be respectful of your neighbours. Noise complaints of course can go two ways. You most certainly would be welcome to call me and let me know that my neighbour is bothering you before 7am. I absolutely would call him to let him know your concern. Best regards, Carolyn

Carolyn was the perfect hostess. She was always available and never intrusive. The location was ideal for us being right in the middle of the national parks. Nothing could be better than relaxing in the hot tub after rafting the glacier fed Kicking Horse River.
