The Hideaway is a quaint cottage tucked in a Downtown Old Town Fort Collins residential neighborhood for your quiet enjoyment and is only a 3 block walk to shops and restaurants. The yard is small and fenced with outdoor living on the front porch and a back patio with a gas grill. The Hideaway is a newer home (2002) in an older neighborhood and was built on a mature lot allowing the foliage to give a feeling of privacy in a quiet setting.
Main floor master bedroom with gas fireplace, queen bed, and full en-suite master bathroom with 2 sinks. The double sided gas fireplace can also be enjoyed from the living area which includes an open concept eating area, breakfast bar and kitchen - fully equipped with microwave, dishwasher, dishes, pots and pans and utensils. Powder room and laundry on main.
The lower level with daylight windows has a family room, 3/4 bathroom, and two bedrooms (one queen with brand new pillow top mattress/twin trundle). 1600 square feet total.
This home is all about location, location, location. Across the street is a public library with a playground and Zagster bike rental station. A three block walk takes you to the heart of Old Town, Old Town Square, where you can enjoy all the stores and restaurants Old Town has to offer. The Hideaway has easy access to local micro breweries, the Poudre River trail system, and local events.
Ask me about our other rental in the same neighborhood.
We live in the neighborhood and absolutely love the walkability factor. Aside from work, family and house projects, we keep busy walking the dogs, going for runs, eating at local establishments and checking out local festivals.
Lisa purchased this house in 2011
It's great to have the option of owning a newer property in Old Town - less maintenance as a rental - and a possible future retirement home for us.
The Hideaway is a newer home in an old part of town with extra bathrooms and central air. Although newer, the house has charm, character - and a fireplace! It is a private single family home so renters do not have to share any walls, floors or ceilings with others. The location is one of the best in Old Town. We pride ourselves in offering clean and comfortable rentals that we ourselves would be happy to live in or invite our own friends or family to stay a while. It makes us happy to hear people say the house is even nicer than the pictures show. The house is well stocked and we will continue to make improvements each year.
We rented this property for 4 nights when visiting Ft.Collins for a family wedding. The photos online do not do the property justice. We were a party of 4 adults and one teen, my husband and me, and our 3 daughters. Everyone had enough room to find their private space. I think you could be comfortable here with the maximum number of guests. There was plenty of room. The house is lovely, fully refurbished, with modern appliances and fixtures throughout. It is well organized, fully stocked with the things you need to enjoy your time away from home, and unequivocally, the cleanest rental home we have ever experienced. Attention had been paid to the myriad small details and we appreciated that the house provided coolers, ice packs, sunscreen, insect repellant,…all the little expenses that add up on the road. The bedding, including the linens, was all superior to what we expect in a rental. All the bedrooms were adequate sized; The downstairs den was a great retreat after a day in the heat.
The property was in complete perfect working order. We had no issues with any mechanical aspect of the house. The outdoor setting is treed, cool and quiet. Because of how the house is oriented on the property, it is a very private and quiet setting.
The location was perfect for us. Old Town was a 5 minute walk. Once we parked the car, we never used it until we left for the airport. The Ft Collins bike share program has a station across the street in front of the Library, and we quickly became comfortable with biking around town. Early mornings were cool enough for a run as well. We explored Old Town, with it’s many eateries and shops, visited many of the breweries, and hiked the mountains around Ft.Collins, particularly enjoying Horsetooth Falls. One evening we saw a movie at Cinemarc Bistro and had dinner served to us in reserved stratolounger seats. The Annual Garden research project at CSU was beautiful and we spent several hours there as well.
I cannot overstate what a great find this was for us. This rental was an extraordinary value for the price and has our highest endorsement.
Spent two wonderful weekends at the Hideaway with family (and dog!). The location is perfect with great proximity to Old Town and parks. Lisa was great to work with and house was so cute, spacious and well appointed. We look forward to our next stay.
My family of 5 stayed in this lovely "hideaway" in Fort Collins! What a wonderful experience. This home is so comfy, accommodating, and clean. Plenty of bedding (blankets, pillows etc), very accommodating kitchen (dishes, pots/pans, appliances etc), basic household items (Kleenex, t.p., paper towels, bath towels etc), and things to keep the kiddies content (games, toys, movies, etc). Lisa even generously gifted us with a small bag of delicious ground coffee beans that sustained us the entire week! Lisa is also very easy to work with and accommodating. My husband was not a "believer" in short term rentals prior to "the hideaway" now he is ready to start his own!
This property was in a great location - close to all of the restaurants and shops - but a nice, private hideaway when you are ready to get away from all of that. There was plenty of personal space for all of us (we had 4 adults and 2 kids) and the tree covered property made for a nice place to relax outside. The house is nicely decorated and clean which made for a relaxing space to enjoy for our vacation.
Four adults and two small children made up the group that stayed at the Hideaway for four nights. As another reviewer has pointed out, the property was very clean and the decor was charming. There were also lots of toys and books for the children, the rooms were arranged to maintain privacy, there were private parking spaces available for two cars, and the full kitchen made cooking easy and most helpful for the kids. There was also an intangible but very important benefit. Lisa was a most gracious and helpful host. She attended promptly to every little problem (there weren't many). We would definitely stay there the next time we're in Fort Collins.
I loved this house -- it was comfortable, so clean, very nicely decorated, and the location is just blocks from downtown and Old Town Fort Collins. Plus, when we had an issue with the Wi Fi, Lisa immediately responded. I have also stayed in Lisa & Lyle's carriage house apartment, the Li'l Buckaroo, and have to say that they are absolutely great owners. It is clear they take a lot of pride and care in their rental properties. There is no question that I will look for availability in their rentals on my next trip to Fort Collins.
The house is located near Peterson and Oak streets, within a 3 block walk to the heart of Downtown Old Town with a plethora of shops and restaurants plus a few breweries...
