|Minimum Stay||2 - 5 nights|
The slopes are open. We're right off the main road within the resort, five blocks from the slopes, near all activities and just a short distance to the Mountain Inn and Conference Center.
If you're looking for extreme luxury, thanks for checking me out, but this is set up for families and kids, and you may want to check out the accommodations that rent for much more if you want additional luxury. I have done a lot of work on this house myself, and you can tell a professional contractor did not do some of the work. If you can get by that - you won't have any problem staying here. When I get around to finishing my improvements, I'll do it, but I don't know when that will be. Please don'[t come here and complain about my Do It Yourself projects! The house is old, but it is clean, comfortable and has satisfied families for 33 years. The photos will speak for themselves.
NETFLIX! Enjoy a great selection of movies or your favorite TV shows using Netflix my streaming attachment. A guest account is available if you do not have your own Netflix account. I also have Encore, HBO, Showtime, Cinemax and The Movie Channel if you want to surf cable for movies.
If you get tired of movies, have a blast on the dual mike karaoke machine and over twenty karaoke CD discs with all types of music. The karaoke may be hooked up to the TV for large screen lyrics.
This house is located five blocks from the ski slopes. The shuttle bus does not stop on my street because we are so close, but you may call transportation, and they may pick you up if they have time (no guarantee though).
There is a $50 charge for one pet (if accompanied by a paying adult). Check with us if you have more than one.
This is a comfortable home at affordable rates. Wireless Verizon DSL Internet service is provided.
42 inch Plasma TV. Enjoy watching movies (DVD's including Blue Ray). We provide PS3 video games, or you are welcome to bring your own.
There are several wineries just a short drive away. A map with directions and phone numbers is available upon request.
Horseback riding is available in the valley at Stoney Creek. Rodes Farm offers pony rides for the kids, trail rides and they even give lessons
Chestnut Springs Pool facility and Pavilion are minutes away from the house. The Rodes Farm pool, in the valley (about ten minutes away by car) includes volleyball court, kiddie pool, horseshoes and tennis. These facilities are available to my guests between Memorial Day and Labor Day, without charge.

I retired from the Federal Aviation Administration in 2009. I worked as an Air Traffic Controller in seven different FAA facilities, including my home town of Providence, Rhode Island. I love pets, especially dogs, with cats being a close second. It's hard for me to pass by someone walking their dog in my neighborhood without stopping to pet them or scratch their ears (the dog - not the owner). One of my daughters has a cat, who I love to have lay on my lap, and purr while I'm brushing him.
We are the original owners of this house at Wintergreen and have been enjoying the mountain since 1984. It may not be as fancy as some of the houses on the mountain, but the kids, grandchildren, and our pets are always comfortable and have a good time.
Deerview purchased this house in 1984
Had a great weekend with my sons and friends skiing and snowboarding! Property was exactly as described by the owner and fit our needs perfectly.
Kitchen was well furnished for everything we needed and had a nice back deck with gas grills.
Marcus was very responsive in answering any questions I had.
Will definitely return. Great value for the price!
We really enjoyed staying at Deerview. It was basic for what we needed and the kitchen is well equipped. Our girls really loved singing karaoke after a long day of skiing and my husband enjoyed keeping the fire going to keep us toasty after dinner.
Basic place for a great family trip and just a 2 minute drive to the slopes! We'll be back!
This was our 3rd time staying here and just like the previous trips, this house makes the whole wintergreen experience complete for us. The house rents for a great price, is in an awesome location, and includes all of the amenities one might desire while on vacation. It's always nice to see subtle changes and remodels each time we stay here. This time the kitchen had a fresh face-lift with new countertops/back splash and new ceramic tile. Mr. Marcus keeps his place up to date and he is always quick to respond to any questions we might have. We look forward to staying here again in the future.
Was perfect for our family trip. We made use of the wood burning stove nightly. Good location on the mountain.
Pro: Overall it was a nice experience and the house worked out for us for a few days. We had 5 people and 2 dogs in this house and I would not recommend taking any more people with you since there was no additional space. A housebook was provided which was a nice touch, it had all kinds of information about the house and how to operate the wifi and everything in there.
Con: The house was very dated and newer updates looked cheap and like a bad DIY job. At first we weren't sure if we were at the right house because it doesn't have a house number on it(???). When we walked in it smelled extremely old and musty and we had to air out the whole place.
With the dated-ness of the house also came a big problem which was the hot water! We did not have hot water for more than 2-3 minutes at the time and even after trying the "fix" mentioned in the housebook (the fact that there were instructions for this issue in the housebook leads me to believe that this is not the first time this issue occurred) did not help at all. So, 5 people having to coordinate when to shower so they could have hot water for a short period of time was not fun. We could have tried to contact a repair man, but did not want to wait around and waste hours of our trip for one to show up and having to figure out how to pay him or get our money back for his services.
Also, the house is not in walking distance to the slopes, its close but unless you want to walk 20 minutes in your ski gear on a busy road with no sidewalk, you HAVE to drive which was unexpected.
Furthermore the fact that you had to drive your trash to a dumpster down the road was weird and gross, I'm glad one of us had a pick up truck. I understand that raccoons or other animals may get into your trash if discarded on property but there should be another solution.
The house backed up to a busy street and had no fence.
And lastly as an FYI, the Wifi is a DSL connection, so don't expect that much from it, i believe it is described as "high speed internet" in the house description, but its not what you are used to which is definitely something to know when you want to visit this place with a bunch of people/family and multiple people want to text or be online or make a phone call.
