Do not stay at this place! Extremely dirty, disgusting and very badly maintained.

  • 1 of 5

Do not stay at this place! This was my worst experience with a rental ever. (Dec 2017)

I’ll just list a couple of reasons:

1. First of all, if you have a bad dust allergy, do not stay here! It doesn't look like the place has been dusted in years. Along the floor boards, the furniture and even the couch and bed, everything was extremely dusty and dirty. We felt extremely disrespected with the lack of cleanliness.

2. If you have mold allergy, do not stay here! My daughter and I couldn't breath all weekend! The smell is almost unbearable - in my daughter words, it smells like dead people.

3. There were several dead insects and mouse excrement everywhere inside the house. We also had big live spiders. Disgusting.

4. Cow manure everywhere outside the house.

5. The pillow cases were not clean and had hair on them.

6. The entire property is very badly maintained.

7. The rugs have stains on them, and are dirty and old.

8. The fridge was dirty inside.

9. The upstairs bedroom is terrible. The door is very hard to open and close. If you have to go the bathroom in the middle of the night you have to walk outside, go downstairs and walk into the main house.

10. I called the manager to complaint about the lack of cleanliness and dirty pillow cases and I encountered the worst customer service ever. She never acknowledged my concerns, empathized or apologized for anything. On the contrary, she took things personally and was rude, insensitive and did not make any effort to resolve the issues.

Needless to say we were very disappointed and dissatisfied with the entire experience. Do not stay at this place.

* I took several pictures of the problems listed here and will be glad to share them.

Awesome secluded get away

  • 5 of 5

We came to Fredericksburg to get away from Houston. We didn't come for the shops, the wine or food. We headed out to Enchanted Rock and came home and had a few beers on the porch while we watched all of the deer. It was amazing. Can't wait to come back next year.

Quaint romantic cottage

Loved the historical cottage. Lot of wildlife viewing and just the right distance from town.

Get away from it all and yet only minutes from Fredericksburg!

  • 5 of 5

Had an amazing time at this cabin. It was clean, quiet, and the owner was easy to reach to help answer questions. We came at night and it was a bit hard to find as the gps sent us past the cabin. The cabin is over one cattle guard to your right and has Christmas iceicle lights on front. Be sure to ask for a second key in advance if using the upstairs bedroom. The second upstairs bedroom can only be accessed by the outside staircase.and has a different key. The place is adorable and rich with history. We loved our stay here. You may experience up close encounters with deer and cow. Be careful where you walk! Loved our time here and hope for a future visit here. I the spa tub in the bathroom is a bonus!

So Relaxing and Quiet

  • 4 of 5

My wife and I enjoyed the cozy cottage from the past. The wildlife came up to the house. We had over 10 deer in the yard ranging from bucks to month old babies, turkeys, and jack rabbits. It was so relaxing drinking wine in rocking chairs in the evening and enjoying coffee in the morning. Not too far from down town or the wine tours, even had a chance to hit the gun range in Kerrville. The cabin was easy to access by Motorcycle and has all the comforts of home, we cooked in for two night and just enjoyed being away from the hustle of life. We will definitely be coming back. What a great mini vacation.

It was very enjoyable

  • 4 of 5

It was a great spot to stay for our anniversary trip. I was expecting it to be more secluded since it talks about sitting on 160 acres but it worked out ok. It was a quaint place. Piece of history which I thought was neat. The window AC unit did pretty good with cooling the house for the most part. Bathroom could get a little warm. Would come back!!
