Overview

About the property

1 bedroom, 1 bath, sleeps 4 (full size sofa bed). In the heart of everything

Boston is a beautiful, historical walking city - if you stay in the North End which is the focal point of all the Sights & Activities that every visitor to Boston wants to see. By staying in the North End you can enjoy ALL YOUR TIME in Boston instead of getting stuck trying to get to the attractions - waiting for over-crowded subways or taxis stuck in traffic. In the Historic North End (Little Italy) there are no hotels, so the only way to stay in the nicest part of town is to stay in a private home. Apartments in this area are generally quite small, but you will find this apartment large enough to be comfortable for 4.

This apartment is a few doors down from Paul Revere's House & the Freedom Trail & the Old North Church. In the Heart of the old Italian district, you are surrounded by many of the best restuarants in the city.

Fanueil Hall is across the street, this property is on the new Greenway (created by the Big Dig), and is three blocks from the Aquarium and Whale Watch Tours. This apartment is 4 blocks from the Celtics & Bruins at Boston Garden. You can walk thru Fanueil Hall to get to Beacon Hill and the Swan Boats on the Boston Public Garden... or take advantage of 4 different subway stops to get to Fenway, the Museums or Harvard Square

If the dates you want are unavailable, we have a couple other beautiful apartments that are also in the North End - so you can likely stay among our apartments and remain in the nicest, most historical, most interesting & convenient part of the city.

1 bedroom condo. Sleeps 4: 1 queen size bed for 2 people. A queen size sofa bed for 2 more people.

Our unit has (bathroom, kitchen, living room, separate bedroom) It has all the appliances and features you will need in the in kitchen ( coffee maker, oven, microwave, refrigerator). Plasma TV and High Speed WiFi internet.

This unit is a few blocks from the Financial District ( making it ideal for business trips)

Note: We are in the HEART of the CITY ( Boston), so obviously you could expect as in any main city major city some noise associated with traffic, tourists, etc. and other noise that can't be controlled us. We can't be accountable or responsible for noise or disturbance from circumstance happening outside our unit or in the streets.

If you are choosing staying in the heart, most accessible, most historic and fun part of Boston, then THIS is your place.

Be sure not to miss:

- The North End ( Italian district where the property is located)

- Paul Revere's house

- The Old North Church ( 'one if by land, two if by sea' )

- The Freedom Trail (a 2.5 mile red-brick walking trail that leads you to 16 nationally significant historic sites)

About Mark & Caroline

Mark & Caroline love to Travel and first started renting apartments for vacations in Europe. With this property, an opportunity arose for us to offer the same kind of great experience to other travellers that we always experience when we rent vacation apartments around the US and the rest of the world

Mark & Caroline purchased this condo in 2012

Why Mark & Caroline chose Massachusetts

For us the North End of Boston is like taking a vacation in Europe. Since we live in an historic town outside of Boston called Lexington, and we have busy careers - we don't get to go to Europe as often as we would like. Caroline often says when she needs a get-away to renew herself and get the feeling that she has been away on a trip, she will often go and spend the day in the North End - and feel like she has been travelling abroad

Guestbook comments from the manager

Thank you, this place is perfectly placed for our needs. If I plan better next year, I hope for a longer stay with you. Cheers

The apartment is in a GREAT location right in the heart of the Boton historic district.

  • 5 of 5

The apartment is in the perfect downtown historic location, within walking distance to the Transportation systems. Caroline was VERY helpful and always a text away for tips and ideas about making our vacation perfect. I would recommend buying a 7-day pass for the subway and bus system ($21.00). The ghost walking tours, freedom trail-histrionic walking tours, witch-hunt walking tours (in Salem) and City View bus tours were a GREAT way to explore the city for its amazing history of our Founding Nation. For delicious Italian pastries, walk a block to Steve's Pasties (you won't be disappointed, but there is about a hundred people, or so, waiting in line). For a treat, go to Beijing Foot Spa in Salem ($35/special) for an hour of foot reflexology and full body massage (a few blocks from the commuter train-purple line). Your feet and legs will thank you! I would recommend any couple to stay in Caroline's apartment.

Owner's Response: Thank you guys, you were really good guests, so very respectful of us, the apartment and the rules. I'll have you guys any time. I think is Mike's Pastry the name actually the one on Hanover street, always really busy and a long line to get in but people enjoy their pastries. The T pass it's a good deal since we are walking distance to the train(s) that take you to all the main sites and more so buying it for a few days it's cheaper than paying your rides back and forth.

Great one bedroom apartment, walking distance to everything and best historic sites.

  • 5 of 5

We love staying at the apartment. We walk everywhere, close to public transportation. Perfect stay for Italian food lovers. Great neighborhood with many Italian shops and historic landmarks. Quiet and cozy place perfect for the both of us. We spent our time walking thru Boston ( Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market, Public Garden). Just great!

History Tour

  • 3 of 5

Overall it was a pretty good place. Mark and Caroline were great to set up with for our visit. Boston was the first leg of a solid two week tour adding NYC and Philadelphia by Amtrak Acela. Location! location, Location! The Apt. was a bit smaller than we expected. The bath was very small. If you have lots of luggage there is no where to really unload it and store the bags. They got stashed in the hall and we had to live out of them. The apt. is dark, furniture not that comfortable and tv channels are very limited. It was clean. Wood counters in a rental..? We did not cook here.. Having said that, you are close to sights in every direction. Stores and restaurants are a plenty with a laundry mat very close. It is close to bikes and the Haymarket Subway Station... You are in the middle of the freedom trail.. I hope this is helpful to all.

Owner's Response: Thanks for your review Stan, We describe the place as small as well including the size of the bathroom. It's a short term rental for 2 people and we also explain hat in our description. We allow more than 2 people as a way of accommodating people who want to save money renting a place for their family in one on the most centric location. We are in the city ( in the heart of the city) and obviously with many buildings around there might not be as bright as if you were in the country side. We have windows that face the street people could open the blinds if they want to but since we are on the first floor as a way of protecting their privacy we keep the blinds down. There is plenty of light if they want to let the light in. We have furniture that fit regular normal size people ( 2 or 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children). Again it's comfortable for 2 people but we open the invitation for more depending on the number of days they stay ( which we ask in advance to let us know so we decide if it will be comfortable for more than 2 on a longer term). We are upfront with the description and it's up to guest's decision to go ahead with the reservation once they are comfortable with what they read in advance. If you have special requirements for your needs ( as these guests did) maybe renting a room in a hotel might be more comfortable. We went out of our way to accommodate these guests ( from bringing ice bags to them and other more specific requests). We are sorry that it wasn't enough to make them comfortable with their specific requests. Other than that we hope people are realistic on their expectations before renting an small apartment for a Short Term rental in one of the best locations. We welcome questions and requests before sending the reservation inquiry so we can clarify and make sure people are getting what they are reserving. So far we have realistic reviews from people who have realistic expectations.

Fantastic place to stay

  • 5 of 5

Loved everything about the rental. As said before, location can't be beat. The pull-out couch was horribly uncomfortable, but I think that's just the nature of those things and is no fault of the owners. I would recommend just bringing an inflatable mattress if you are using more than the main bed unless you have a very resilient back. Other than that everything was well stocked, extremely clean, and amazing!!! Thanks again!

Owner's Response: Thank you Lisa for your feedback. We appreciate honesty in our guests. Regarding the sofa bed; it's a new sofa queen size bed and it has a memory foam mattress for that sofa bed. Usually we have children sleeping on that sofa which is comfortable for them. One adult would also sleep well in that sofa ( and we have many people sleeping there) however each one has their own specific need, so it would be suggested to keep that in mind before renting a one bed room apartment with a sofa bed to fit your needs. It was a pleasure having you as guests, you guys were really respectful to our rules

This North End apartment was the perfect place to stay to really enjoy the city of Boston!

  • 5 of 5

The apartment was very clean and comfortable. It was perfect for my sister and I. We stayed 6 nights and we had everything we could ask for. It's close to all of the historic sites and was very easy to walk the Freedom Trail from here. It was also a 3 minute walk to the T line which got us to Fenway Park, the Sam Adams Brewery, and Cambridge. The apartment is in a very safe neighborhood with a convienence store nearby. It's in very short walking distance to the best restaurants, comedy club, and coffee shops. Caroline was great and easy to get a hold of. If I had a question, she texted back right away. If I ever go back to the city I will definitely stay here again!
