Charming and Quiet!

  • 5 of 5

We were planning a ski trip to the Poconos, and we wanted to stay someplace reasonably close to activities, but quiet. We found it here! The directions and information provided were very helpful, and we arrived without any problems. There are several other cottages which share the driveway, but they are not all on top of each other, and they were also very quiet. You could hear the nearby Lehigh River as it flowed just down the hill.

The cottage was historic, but totally renovated and spotless. The photos and description were accurate, but it was even more charming than I expected. There were only two of us, but it could easily house 4 adults. The living room was large and open, and the kitchen was bigger than we expected, and fully stocked with utensils and soap, and even some staples like coffee. We even had a small dining area (seats 4). Also, we visited in February and it was toasty warm.

The Cottage is located just around the corner from Jack Frost and Big Boulder, and not far from Camelback and the outlets at Tannersville. The Pocono Raceway is also just a short drive away. Montage Mountain and the Mohegan Sun Casino are a little further out, but they are still within a 30-60 minute drive.

In short, YES, we would be happy to recommend the cottage! If you want to be close to activities - but you don't want to stay in a crowded, noisy resort hotel - then this is the place for you. We would love to come back in the summer or fall, too, so we could enjoy hiking, biking, or just sitting on the wraparound porch. Thank you very much for sharing the Cottage with your guests!

Charming, quaint little cottage!

  • 5 of 5

Boyfriend, dog and I stayed here for a weekend. Loved the cottage and overall charm of the place. Big enough for 2 couples if you want. Everything was clean, big living room. Yes cushions are a bit lumpy but it just added to the charm I mentioned. Also made things a bit more cozy on the couch ;). Would definitely come back!

Lovely cottage and location! We had a great time!

  • 4 of 5

Seriously, I would have been happy to give this 5 stars except for the sofa/love seat. They look comfy but we're the most uncomfortable things to sit on. And since it rained when we were there, we had to hang out on them a lot. Other than that, the house was well laid out, the linens were high quality and we had all we needed. The wrap around covered porch was perfect to sit on for those rainy days. It was also located pretty close to parks and hiking trails. Would definetly recommend it (minus the sofa).

Nice family getaway!

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay! It was a nice cozy cottage in a woodsy setting. The cottage was clean, beds comfortable. Sofa not so comfortable. Nice kitchen. Walking distance to the Lehigh river and the family enjoyed fishing. Enjoyed the history of the location. Grant and his family were very hospitable and friendly! 30 minute drive to Camelback and to Pocono whitewater rafting in Jim Thorpe. Hickory Run State park and Boulder field a short distance. Places to eat, Wawa, Dunkin donuts were a short drive.
