Come enjoy your winter in Maine at our Log Home,
My name is Dean and I live on the farm and own the adjacent log home rental, My wife (Deborah) and I moved here from Massachusetts along with our four boys. We love it here and we hope you will to. The cabin is a few hundred yards beyond out farm house. So you will enjoy privacy while we can be there to greet and help you get settled. If any issue with the home comes up during your stay I can immediately attend to it.
Thanks for looking!
In 2001, Deborah and I brought our young family to this farm. The experiences farm life brings over the past 15+ years have been joyful and helped us truly connect to the land. We'd like to share our wonderful property with you and have a cozy log home we've named "Pine Mountain Cabin" for you to enjoy your stay!
Owner / Property Manager purchased this cabin in 2001
We chose this location fifteen years ago do to it's location abutting the White Mountain National Forest.
We are certified by the Maine Organic Farmers Association for our wonderful 100% grass fed Beef! You can purchase packages of beef and pork right here at our farm.
The cabin was what was depicted, large rooms, comfortable beds, wonderful hosts. I really liked the cut flowers left on the kitchen table and bathrooms. Dogs loved the spacious yard, great hiking in the woods back to the pond. I would highly recommend this cabin for a week as there is so much to see and lots of trails to hike in the national forest.
This was a super getaway. We were greeted with a warm fire and treats! The owner is incredibly responsive and friendly. Such a cozy cabin but 8 people didn't feel crowded. Comfortable and nice. Sleeping arrangements were only slightly odd for us since the small room on the bottom floor only has 1 twin - would have been better as a bunk bed room so couple could have shared it, versus the 3 twins in the upstairs room. And I recommend the downstairs toilet be tightened to the floor - it rocked back and hit the wall when you used it which ended up waking up the person sleeping in the bedroom next door.
Overall, recommend this to anyone and we plan to come back next year!!!
Very cozy cabin which is accurately depicted in the photos. Dean and Deborah are very welcoming. A box of delicious cookies and a bottle of wine left for our arrival. Very scenic location; long road through an open field and their beautiful barn complete with horses, goats, etc. Only 15 minutes from Sunday River. We wished that we had allowed more time to explore on foot. We hope to come back.
I would recommend this cabin to anyone with a larger group or family. The cabin is deceivingly bigger than it looks, rooms are a decently sized with great bedding. We brought two dogs with us, plenty of room for their crates and room to run around in the yard. Close to Sunday River and the town, easy to get to, the owner lives nearby on the property and had the wood stove on for our early morning arrival. Overall, great place to stay, everyone enjoyed it, will stay here again and recommend it!
Take the last turn onto the cabin road and breathe a big sigh as every star in the sky lights your final mile towards peace and quiet. Go past the old farmhouse and pull up to your cozy cabin, nestled right up into the base of the white mountain national forest. Get a good night's sleep. Wake up, make a hot cup of coffee and step out onto the front porch to glimpse the icy cliffs across the way. Meet the quiet gaze of the horse passing through the yard on his way back to the barn. Strap on your snowshoes and take a walk through the woods and down to the pond where it's just you and the pine trees that witness the deer jumping off into wilderness. Magic.
We stayed at this cabin every winter weekend for multiple years and fell in love with it. The owners are wonderful people who gave us complete privacy, but were very warm and helpful whenever we sought them out. Very highly recommended.
Great place. Close to Sunday River, Plenty of room for 8, and quiet. Dean was very welcoming. We even had a bottle of wine and fresh backed cookies when we arrived. Would recommend to anyone looking for a comfortable place to stay while hiking, snowshoeing,
