Hi! We're Jennifer and CJ Nichols. We call Austin, TX home, but the mountains of California will always hold a special place in our hearts.
We're photographers who enjoy traveling and playing music with our two daughters.
Jennifer Nichols purchased this cabin in 2014
We lived in Long Barn ten years ago where we enjoyed exploring all the natural beauty this area has to offer. We enjoyed hiking, boating and swimming at Pinecrest Lake, taking day trips into Yosemite, and taking lots of long, scenic drives through this gorgeous country (usually with Hank Williams as the soundtrack).
Nestled amongst the towering sugar pines, this cabin is located a scenic 20-minute drive to Pinecrest Lake and Dodge Ridge Ski Resort. Walk across the street to Long Barn Lodge for indoor ice-skating.

We have been going here for a few years now and it has always been extremely well maintained! The locals are very nice and lots of attractions are very close too! I highly recommend staying here (Just book early!)
Everything about our stay was excellent. The booking process was easy. The information provided in advance was clearly communicated and the local attraction recommendations were all helpful for planning our stay. The cabin was adorable, clean, cozy and comfortable. It had everything we needed and more. It's centrally located and quiet. We took our kids to the snow for the first time and they had a blast sledding. We cooked meals together, played board games and puzzles, and watched The Princess Bride for the first time as a family. It was romantic sitting by the fire while it rained. We even made some new friends in the short time we were here. Will definitely come again and recommend it to others.
We enjoyed our stay as the cabin has everything you need. Our kids had fun playing board games after a great day of skiing at Dodge ridge. The bathroom is a little small but other than that it is perfect. We would love to come again!
Our family of four really enjoyed our stay at this cabin - it was just the right size for us and we were very comfortable. Appreciated the little details, such as the coffee and coffeemaker, tea, guitar, crafts and books for the little ones, hooks by the door and hooks by the bathroom, space heaters, outdoor seating, fire ring. Charming - loved the pictures on the walls. Thank you!
Cute cabin and great location. Our family had a really nice time getting away from our chaotic lives. Thank you!
We had an absolutely wonderful trip! We highly suggest this cabin for anyone looking to head to the Sierras. We went in order to have a ski/snowboard day at Dodge. The trip up to the ski area was great, even in snowy conditions. The cabin itself was very comfortable, and incrediblely charming. Do use the children's gate for the stairs if you go up with your little ones, as the stairs are extremely steep. The gas burning fireplace was awesome. The kitchen had everything we needed to save money and cook in the cabin. Will definitely be heading back next season!
