Hi! We're Jennifer and CJ Nichols. We call Austin, TX home, but the mountains of California will always hold a special place in our hearts.
We're photographers who enjoy traveling and playing music with our two daughters.
Jennifer Nichols purchased this cabin in 2014
We lived in Long Barn ten years ago where we enjoyed exploring all the natural beauty this area has to offer. We enjoyed hiking, boating and swimming at Pinecrest Lake, taking day trips into Yosemite, and taking lots of long, scenic drives through this gorgeous country (usually with Hank Williams as the soundtrack).
Nestled amongst the towering sugar pines, this cabin is located a scenic 20-minute drive to Pinecrest Lake and Dodge Ridge Ski Resort. Walk across the street to Long Barn Lodge for indoor ice-skating.

Great cabin, thoughtfully equipped. Made for a really fun ski weekend.
It was a perfect place for our family of four and our dog. It was easy to find, close to Dodge Ridge. Our family really enjoyed our time here.
My family and I loved the house! We enjoyed walking across the street to go ice skating at night. The owner was great to work with!
My wife and I stayed for 4 nights at Jennifer's cabin. The cabin itself has nice decor, is clean, and well maintained. We enjoyed drinking a glass of wine next to the cozy fireplace. We brought provisions and cooked most of our meals. There are plenty of board games and puzzles to keep you occupied if you get snowed in (like we did).
This was our first time up Sonora Pass in the winter and we will be back. Dodge Ridge was awesome for skiing. No hustle and bustle like Tahoe.
I recommend staying in Long Barn. It's a good central location for accessing outdoor activities and heading into town.
Our family of four (with 12 and 14 year old girls) spent a beautiful white Christmas in this cozy and charming cabin. The cabin was just as pictured and had everything we needed. We loved the board games, the ice rink across the street was great, and enjoyed a short drive up to Pine Crest Lake on Christmas day. The best part for us was hanging by the fire pit on Christmas Eve under the beautiful starry sky and snow covered pines. Jennifer was a pleasure to work with and made it all very easy, it was everything our family needed this Christmas and we will definitely be back.
We (family with 5 and 8 year olds) had a fabulous time in the beautiful mountain area. The cabin was very clean and tidy and perfect size for our family. Neighbors and lodge are closer than expected, but we felt private when indoors and spent a lot of time exploring and playing in the snow in neighboring mountain areas. Jennifer is very easy and enjoyable to work with.
