Hi! We're Jennifer and CJ Nichols. We call Austin, TX home, but the mountains of California will always hold a special place in our hearts.
We're photographers who enjoy traveling and playing music with our two daughters.
Jennifer Nichols purchased this cabin in 2014
We lived in Long Barn ten years ago where we enjoyed exploring all the natural beauty this area has to offer. We enjoyed hiking, boating and swimming at Pinecrest Lake, taking day trips into Yosemite, and taking lots of long, scenic drives through this gorgeous country (usually with Hank Williams as the soundtrack).
Nestled amongst the towering sugar pines, this cabin is located a scenic 20-minute drive to Pinecrest Lake and Dodge Ridge Ski Resort. Walk across the street to Long Barn Lodge for indoor ice-skating.
My family and I had a pleasurable stay. The cabin is clean and cozy. It has a great collection of our favorite movies. It was easy to book , I highly recommend it . My family and I can't wait to be back !
This was our families second time at the cabin and we once again had a wonderful and relaxing time! The cabin was as before well cleaned, stocked and comfortable. We just love all the decor and the location, it is just 20 minutes from town and ten minutes from Pinecrest lake which we enjoyed spending much time at. We look forward to returning again next year and our family my husband, myself and 2 boys and 2 girls all absolutely love this cabin.(= Also the owners are very attentive and respond quickly, thank you again for a wonderful place to stay on our family vacation!
We enjoyed our 4 night stay in the month of June 2016. The cabin is located in Long Barn, which is close to both Pinecrest Lake to the east and Sonora/Columbia to the west. One day we drove about 45 minutes to Calaveras State Park "Big Trees." That was amazing! The cabin had everything we needed to cook and enjoy ourselves in the evening after a day of exploring. We loved to sit by the fire pit at night. My kids loved the variety of games and books available and couldn't wait to watch their DVD's in their bedroom each night. I would recommend visiting during the week as the Long Barn Lodge is right across the way and gets busy on the weekends. We enjoyed our stay very much and it is clear that the owners put a lot of thought into the amenities available, making each visitor's stay comfortable and memorable. Wow....I almost forgot, the best thing for me (as the tired mom of the group) were the comfortable beds! That was very much appreciated. Great time in the woods!
My family and I loved it! It had all the amenities and was very well stocked to make our stay comfortable. Every room was well decorated, complete with cute lamps to create a cozy ambiance. Plenty of blankets and towels. Me and my kids played games and watched a couple of movies. Their movie and game selection was amazing! Thankyou, we will definitely be coming back soon.
The cabin was very nice inside and out. Beautifully decorated and stocked with a games and reading for our small family. Very happy with our choice.
The cabin was perfectly clean and plenty spacious enough for our vacation. It was easy to find and wonderful to stay in. We would highly recommend the cabin to all of friends and family. We loved our time there.
