The cabin has two bedrooms upstairs. One with a queen bed and a larger bedroom with two twin beds and an inflatable queen mattress. Each bedroom has cable TV. Downstairs, there's a full kitchen, bathroom, living room with fireplace, cable TV, board games, and books. The dining area accommodates 6. Relax on the covered porch or build a campfire in the fire ring for smores!

Summer activities: Pinecrest Lake is a terrific place to spend the day swimming, boating, fishing, or hiking. You can rent kayaks, paddle boats, fishing boats, and party boats at the marina. There's a snack bar that serves burgers and soft serve ice cream, a general store, and a sporting goods store conveniently located at the lake.

The Steam Donkey restaurant serves up delicious lunch and dinner and has a full bar. The Serene Bean, an outdoor coffee stand, is open year round.

In the evening, there is an outdoor amphitheater under the pines that features first run movies. This overlooks the lake and has a snack bar that serves popcorn, hot chocolate, and more. It's so much fun.

Paddle Board rentals are available at Heidi's Ski Shop.

Winter Activities: Dodge Ridge Ski Resort is 15 miles up the road. There is a lodge to relax in and a lot of trails to explore. Grab some lunch at the Creekside Cafe or a beer at the Boulder Bar.

Leland Sno Park is about 25 miles from the cabin. It's a great place to take your kids sledding in a great open area. Traffic is directed by employees of the Sno Park, and there is a lodge that serves snacks and warm drinks.

There's a seasonal, indoor ice skating rink that you can walk to right across the street from the cabin!

Further up the road are great fishing spots to explore and Donnell Vista, a stunning overlook 30 scenic miles from the cabin.

Only one hour to the quaint town of Murphy's, wine tasting, restaurants, and shopping. Calaveras Big Trees State Park is further up Hwy 4 where you can view an amazing grove of giant sequoias.

Great stay

  • 5 of 5

Super cute cabin! Very friendly owner that was accommodating letting us have a late check out and gave us recommendations for activities and restaurants. Only thing I'd change was to have more paper towels. Only half a role and we used them up and couldn't find another. Very minor detail in the big picture.

Nice warm cabin and excellent host

  • 5 of 5

Stayed here a few nights with my wife and 2-year old and loved it. Our criteria was as follows: nestled in the forest, gas fireplace, bbq grill and not loaded with tourist traffic. This place had it all and even a generously sized fire pit in the front which we did not have time to use this time around. The cabin itself was cozy and had the basic amenities along with just a few creature comforts, which was perfect for people like us who live in the city and are fully connected too much of the time.

Jennifer was nice enough to offer us late checkout, which helped us out a lot because packing up a toddler takes time!

Charming!

  • 5 of 5

Our family has stayed at this lovely, cozy cabin for the past 3 years for family vacations and we absolutely loved it each time! The cabin is just wonderful! It is clean, well maintained, decorated beautifully. Stocked with cocoa, games, chairs, comfy beds a cozy gas/ Wood stove. It has a washer and dryer, the beds are so comfy. We have been so blessed to find this, "little piece of heaven", we love it and will return again!
