This wonderful, quiet little cabin is tucked in behind your hosts’ home. Although there are other homes around the cabin you will enjoy the feel of being in the country. The trees surrounding the house are plentiful and the outdoor picnic area is perfect for enjoying nature.
Inside is a large open living room and kitchen offering hill country decor. The living room has a comfy leather sofa (also a sleeper bed) and over sized chair—both are placed to enjoy the cable television. A fully equipped kitchen is large and perfect for those quiet evenings when you just want to stay in! The kitchen has a large refrigerator, range/oven and microwave. There is also a wonderful wood table that seats four.
A queen sleigh bed is in the bedroom topped with a coverlet and decorative pillows. Two wicker chairs and a table are found in the bedroom for that quiet reading time. The bath has a shower. Adjacent to the bathroom is laundry room complete with a washer and dryer.
A wonderful highlight of this home is the screened porch just outside the living room. Enjoy nature in all seasons at the table for four. It is inviting and waiting for your arrival.

We have lived in the Hill Country for seven years and really enjoy all the beauty and wildlife. I am retired which allows me to take care of the rental and get in a game of golf every now & then. My wife had the opportunity to transfer here with her job which opened the door for us to move here. We hope you enjoy this beautiful area as much as we do.
For several summers we helped our local lions club transport kids in need to the Kerrville Lions Club Camp. We often talked about how we would like to retire here and with my wife getting the chance to relocate here with her job our dream was answered.
We enjoy being a short drive to Kerrville and many great restuarants, museums, live plays, golf and much more.
Adventures: Great Hill Country get away for me and my wife.
Restaurants: Cooked meals in cabin.
Thoughts to share: Loved your cabin. Thanks!
Exceptionally nice, well decorated, very spacious, peacuful...we had everything we needed and then some, couldn't ask for better Host'. Will definitely be back and stay longer!

The owners of the home have thought of everything you would need to make it a comfortable stay. It is a hidden gem!! Even thought the homeowners are near by they gave you complete privacy but we knew they were there if we needed anything. The covered parking for the motorcycle was really nice! The town of Kerrville is a central point for great riding or driving to see the sites of other small towns for shopping or antiques, but don't miss the great stores and parks Kerrville has to offer. Great stay, and wonderful home to relax!! Thank you Curtis and Carolyn. We will be back!!
I highly recommend this rental. My boyfriend and I stayed for the Easter weekend. The location is very peaceful, and although the rental is directly behind the owners home, it is kept very private with a high fence. We really enjoyed sitting on the porch drinking coffee, listening to the wildlife and watching the deer. The rental is stocked with everything you could possibly want or need. It is located very close to Stonehenge II, which is a must see. The only very small suggestion that I would have is to upsize the TV in the bedroom, but otherwise everything was absolutely perfect. We would love to come here again.
My wife and I stayed here for our 40th anniversary-it was PERFECT! Curtis and Carolyn are great hosts, the cabin was VERY comfortable and clean, they provided all kinds of snacks, and there are deer everywhere! We could not have asked for anything more! Thanks for a great stay!
We stayed at the Dubl-C Guest House for the second time in late January 2017. The first time was for our honeymoon and this second time was to celebrate our first anniversary. Both times, Curtis & Carolyn went above and beyond what could ever be expected in terms of hospitality! Everything was perfect upon our arrival and throughout our stay. Their attention to detail in every sense, their thoughtfulness, and their truly warm, southern hospitality made us feel like we were at home from the minute that we walked in the door until the day we left. We only wish that we had been able to stay one or two more nights this time, and we will definitely be back the next time that we are in Texas to visit our family. The reservation service provided by the Gastehaus Schmidt is also very professional and thorough, which definitely adds to the pleasure of the entire experience. Looking forward to our next stay!
This is a wonderful find. We love the Hill Country area, and this place is like visiting an old friend. It is so cozy and quiet. We love it. While my husband rode his motorcycle, I stayed in and watched nature evolve outside the screened in porch. Great place to kick back, catch up on reading, watch the deer graze peacefully by and just enjoy the down time far away from the busy Dallas Ft Worth area! We will come back to this place every time if it is available. It's got wonderful amenities--eat in kitchen, walk in shower, washer and dryer, screened in porch, flat screen tv, ample parking for a motorcycle trailer, covered parking for your vehicle, etc. The owner also leaves a bottle or two of wine to enjoy as well as snacks, frozen breakfast items, bottled water, candy, soda, etc. Amazing value and gracious hosts.
Point Theater for live plays, Stonehenge-II both 2.5 miles, Ingram Dam Lake 2 mi., Vista Camps 1 mi., Camp LaJunta 4mi., Guadalupe River access 1.6 mi., Old Ingram Loop for antiquing 2.8 mi., also nearby, Hill Country Arts Foundation, Crider's Dance Pavillion & Rodeo Arena, one hour from San Antonio for The Alamo, Sea World, Fiesta Texas and the Riverwalk.
