The house is beautiful and the area is so peaceful and quiet. We had a fabulous time with our children down at the boathouse. We plan to return next year!
Get house for our family. Comfortable, well stocked and kids loved the basement level. House very open and spacious. Utilized the fire pit area. Lake was beautiful and loved all the water activities available. Visited the sliding rock, whispering falls and the gem mine, all enjoyed those adventures. Areas to consider for improvement for future visitors are: no smoke detectors functioning in house, kayaking equipment needs attention-plug missing in large kayak, grills need cleaned and maintained, promise of Biltmore tickets with rental not delivered-presented with a fiasco at will call ticket center and had to purchase tickets.
We really enjoyed our stay in this gorgeous home! The house was very clean and spacious. Lake summit is beautiful and we enjoyed the kayaks provided in the boat house! Looking forward to visiting again this summer with friends.
We had an incredible weekend at lake summit! This house is spacious, clean, and great for children. The lake is gorgeous! We had a blast using kayaks and canoes. Our kids loved hanging out in the downstairs living room. Wish we could have stayed longer. We will be back!
We had a wonderful vacation! The home is beautiful, spacious, and clean. We enjoyed the peace and quiet. Lake Summit is beautiful and we plan to come back during the summer months to enjoy the lake and boathouse.
This home was lovely. The layout is wonderful and the furniture comfy. I believe we were the first visitors for the spring, because inside was dusty, the dock house was filthy, and outside the home was unkempt with weeds and such. In order to reach this remote location, you will need a 4-wheel drive vehicle. The last 1/2 mile is unpaved and if there has been rain, it might be a safety hazard in a sedan. The dock is shared with a few other families and located about a mile from the home- back down the partially unpaved roads and hills... Again, the home is beautiful and appointed nicely, but the cost didn't match up to my expectations.
My family just returned from a Labor Day weekend trip to this gorgeous home at Lake Summit. We had friends join us there and with 4 adults and 4 teens we had plenty of space (and bathrooms!). The home itself is beautiful decorated and was spotless. It was well-equipped with everything we needed, and we really enjoyed the pool table and fire pit. The boathouse gave us a great place to relax and enjoy the water view, and we loved kayaking around the lake. It's location was perfect for us to go on a hike to see waterfalls (DuPont State Forest was beautiful), visit the cute towns of Hendersonville and Brevard, and is convenient to the interstate. I would definitely rent this home again.
Our only difficulty was with locating the home via GPS and the steep, rutted drive up to the house. I spoke to the management and suggested directions be emailed to renters prior to arrival and she was open to that suggestion. She was very pleasant and helpful.
