We are located in Toronto's 'Cabbagetown' which is known for having the largest collection of preserved Victorian homes in North America. Built in 1876 this heritage home features original front door with lock, plastered crown moulding and high baseboards etc. Located in the heart of downtown, you are actually only blocks from Toronto's famous Eaton Centre and so many other of Toronto's most recognized landmarks (CN Tower, Distillery District, Rogers Sports Centre, Hockey Hall of Fame, Royal Ontario Museum, AGO).
Business or vacation? Stay with us and enjoy a stay nothing short of exceptional.
Walking under the canopy of the old Cabbagetown' trees one can forget about the noise of the modern city. You can immerse yourself in the past looking at the old Victorian houses and yet walk to shops and modern or ethnic restaurants.
We love wine, good food and good company. I love to garden and hubby loves having a nice garden, so we complement each other well:-)
We are a professional couple that enjoys to travel the World and South America, especially Patagonia, is our favorite spot. While we enjoy pitching a tent in the mountains to see Mother Nature at her best, we like to pamper ourselves at home ... and you will be too!
Whether is your first Homeaway trip or your 10th, experience ease, comfort, and safety. Helpful without being intrusive, we are here to answer your questions and to make sure you have a pleasant, memorable stay. Our home it's a delightful retreat after a day enjoying the "city buzz".
We do speak English and German and we understand a bit of Spanish, French and Italian....
Dana purchased this house in 2013
Proximity to Eaton Centre, fine dinning and fancy shops, Distillery District, street festivals, museums, theatres to name a few.
This is a preserved historic Grand Victorian home, with all the modern amenities. The moment you enter the hallway you are welcome by original doors, height ceilings, vintage chandeliers and plastered crown mouldings and arches.
We loved to stay in this old victorian house in cabaggetown toronto. Proper clean an tidied up. There are lovely shops and restaurants nearby, and even the discovering of downtown Toronto was a walkway, so there is no need for a vehicule neither public transport.
Dana and her husband were constantly zealous to give recommendations or answers on our questions. Thanks a lot.
At any time we will come again.
Wonderful hosts take pride in their home. Very helpful making sure we could find our way around Toronto. Public transportation very close and many places within walking distance. We would have liked to have been able to spend an entire week, but hope we can next time.
Pretty much as described: bedroom & bathroom. Great location. Dana tries hard to please. Good value too!
We stayed in Dana's lovely home for 3 nights. The room is quiet and clean with everything one needs. The bathroom is great with a lovely shower and we felt very comfortable and had all the privacy one needs. Dana recommended places to visit and was incredibly helpful and welcoming. The neighbourhood is interesting and historic and suburban yet so close to the centre. We would definitely return. Many thanks Dana.
We had the pleasure of visiting Ontario staying in a hotel in Brampton for the first six days of our vacation before spending the remaining time in Toronto. The Hotel was wonderful, however the experience of staying in the lovely heritage home in downtown was one we will never forget. Although this was a first time staying in a VRBO for my partner once settled into our luxury room he was very comfortable. The room was very clean & quiet with the elegance of the clawfoot tub and large shower. The Hostess was very friendly as was her spouse, the coffee was wonderful. The home was well loved and taken care of by the owners. Dana was very helpful, with recommendations of sites to visit, local restaurants and a must see of Tim Horton's in an old heritage home. The property is conveniently located where we could walk everywhere. Would definitely recommend this property to other travellers. We met as Strangers and left as Friends. "Strangers are friends we've never met"
Loved my time at this rental. Location was very well situated. Did not matter which direction I wanted to go I was only footsteps away. Room was very inviting and bed super comfortable. Shower/bathub were perfect. Hostess was helpful with directions, suggestions for sightseeing and general information. I look forward to my return.
This was my very first host stay and it exceeded all of my expectations. Dana was very inviting and informative. Her room was lovely and comfortable. Will refer friends & family and I will forsure return again!!!
