About Tony

We are a family who live in Denver and love the mountains! With three young children, this is a fantastic way for them to experience the mountains and for us to escape every once in a while without the kids!

Tony purchased this cabin in 2012

Why Tony chose Bailey

It is easy to get to - one hour from Denver - but is off the beaten path. The road is paved until about the last half mile, and there are nearby amenities, or we can be as secluded as we would like.

What makes this cabin unique

Few properties actually border the national forest. While we call this our cabin, it could also easily be a year-round house with all of the comforts of home.

The Bailey Mountain House is a great place to stay to get away from it all. We immediately felt at home after settling in. Elevation is 9000ft, so the altitude is a factor for those not accustomed to it. A short walk and we had to catch our breath. The home is beautiful with seclusion and quietness. Wildlife abounds, we saw deer, heard roosters and other birds I've never seen before. There is the risk of seeing bears or mountain lions, so we didn't go far from the house. All amenities are provided, you only need to bring food. I would definitely look forward to staying here again!

Beautiful, cozy home.

  • 4 of 5

The home was very clean and cozy. It was just the right size for the 6 women that stayed. Two bathrooms was wonderful and a stocked kitchen to do cooking at home after spending the day away was great. Really, the only downfall about the home itself was the drive up the road to the house. It was quite rainy when we stayed and so by the end of the week, the van we had taken was struggling a bit to make it up the drive. The water had washed the dirt/sand away leaving decent crevasses- there was a sigh of relief every time we made it to the cabin's driveway. BUT, it was also something to laugh about :) We had a wonderful time in CO and it was hard to leave. So beautiful and relaxing. Thanks for a great place to lay our heads at night!

Fabulous Bailey Mountain Retreat

  • 5 of 5

We had a marvelous time and found the cabin just perfect for our needs. It was a quiet and restful vacation. Tony, the owner, is great to work with. He answered all our questions promptly and also emailed us excellent arrival and departure instructions and explanations of where to find things, phone numbers, etc before we left home to help us while at the cabin. That was a big plus.

My husband and I, along with my niece and her fiancé, just spent a week in the Bailey Mountain House. There was plenty of room in this cabin. Actually, it was like having two separate accommodations. The upstairs had a king bedroom, bunk bedroom, kitchen, bathroom, and living/sitting room with fireplace. The downstairs/basement had a king bedroom, separate bath, and large sitting room with a big screen TV. It backs onto the Pike National Forest and has plenty of hiking paths at your doorstep, as well as, ATV trails. We had morning coffee each day and afternoon cocktail hour on the wrap around deck which has a propane grill and a charcoal webber grill. We celebrated my husband's 70th birthday by grilling steaks and roasting marshmallows for s'mores in the fire pit which is also provided. The design of this mountain home had a lot of natural light with floor to ceiling windows in the upstairs. Several afternoons a family of mule deer wondered in the backyard which gave us Kodak moments. There is also great wifi in the cabin and we had no problem with cell service while there. FYI, on your first visit, try to arrive during the daylight hours, if possible, as it can be a little tricky finding the road to the cabin in the dark.
