We spent a week in this nicely appointed house. We were a bit disappointed with the view from the deck, it’s quite obscured by trees, which is not indicated by the photos in the listing. The area is extremely quiet, with most businesses closing at 5pm. Finding dining options after that became difficult. While that is certainly not the property owners fault, it is something to take into consideration as guests. We’re from NY and not accustomed to eating dinner before 5pm. The owner I spoke with, Diane, was pleasant and helpful however.
This is a very secluded location in the woods with a lovely view. Coffee in the Adirondack chairs first thing in the morning is really special. The peace and quiet is wonderful. Everything about the property is tasteful and well thought out. I can't think of anything you might want that isn't there. It is a drive to get to Mount Desert and Bar Harbor, but we found it nice to come back to a less hectic area. Schoodic is really the most scenic place and we really want to come back and explore some more. A truly wonderful place to stay.
Charming, clean, and quiet is how I would describe the home. Sitting on the deck in the morning and listening to the birds sing was so peaceful. Watching the tide come in and go out was fun. The wrap around sliding glass doors brought the outdoors right inside. The house itself was very clean and had everything we needed for the week. We loved it!
Well located, well designed, well decorated, and well maintained
This is a really fine cabin, remote enough to be private and close enough to local features to support any activity. The art and furniture is very well suited--as one would pick for their home. No half-way measures or shortcuts. It was fun to watch the tide come in during the day and see the reflection of the moonlight on the water at night. We enjoyed nearby Bar Harbor and Acadia, and enjoyed leaving that congested area to return to our quiet cabin. We particularly liked the leisurely drive around Schoodic Peninsula just down the road and found a great upscale restaurant in Winter Haven. We hope we can come back to the area someday and will do our best to stay here again.
Couldn’t have been better
Five stars all the way!! Dianne and Mark were great folks to rent from and provided a world of useful local information. One week wasn’t long enough. We hope to come back soon.
