Well keep Cottage, Easy to Fine, Great Location

  • 5 of 5

Thanks for the stay, the location was great and very quit with a view of Acadia Nat Park. Everything in the cottage to make you feel at home. Easy location to take day trip up and down the coast and visit all the beautiful lobster villages. Lots of good restaurants, we did eat out a lot. went up in tower at Bucksport Bridge, toured Acadia, , Schoodic Point, Boat trip out of Northeast Harbor, Trip up to Lubec Me and over to FDR's summer home. Can't put everything down but hope to return again and would call Dianne first. Thanks Dianne for helping us have a great trip. will pass your name along to friends. Oh we did get to see Wormers digging for worms, that was an extra to see. Thanks again, Richard & Friends

Total Relaxation on the Quiet Side of Acadia

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I just returned from a wonderful vacation at Surchin’s End. With the Schoodic side of Acadia Park only minutes away, we hiked or waded along the shore every day. Mount Desert Island and Bar Harbor are an easy day trip (we made it four times during our stay). Nevertheless, returning to a quiet haven at the end of each day made busy side of Acadia Park much more enjoyable for us. The cottage met our every need and was the centerpiece of a perfect vacation.

This house is amazing

  • 5 of 5

This house is beautiful. The pictures are completely accurate. I've never been in a rental home that was as CLEAN and gorgeous as this one. The furniture is all gorgeous and very comfortable, the king bed is great (didn't use the other ones) the art is really interesting and the kitchen....OH THE KITCHEN! The kitchen has things in it I didn't even know I wanted to use until I used them. Every size pan, pot, plate, glass, mug, salad spinner, blender, coffee maker, espresso maker, etc etc. It is ALSO fully stocked with things like olive oil, vinegar, spices, etc. The porch and views are beautiful and everything is comfortable. We had a great stay and would definitely recommend it.

We stayed at your lovely home for two weeks in August and thoroughly enjoyed it. Being on the "quiet side" of Acadia National Park was so much more relaxing, as we did not have to fight the crowds or traffic on a daily basis. We did visit both Bar Harbor and the main part of Acadia, but found it so much more peaceful to return to Surchin's End. You have provided everything one could possibly think of, and we particularly appreciated the spices, seasonings, etc., available for our use. Your home is well maintained, clean, and we loved the sleep number mattresses! Have them in our own home, and made our stay even more comfortable. Dianne, you were most helpful to us prior to our trip with suggestions for grocery shopping and things to do. All of the brochures for area attractions in your home were extremely helpful as well. I know you don't control the weather, but we did have perfect weather while we were there, and so enjoyed sitting on the deck with the view of Frenchman's Bay and Cadillac Mountain. Thank you for sharing your home with us - it truly helped to make our vacation memorable!!

The vacation house you always wanted to find!

  • 5 of 5

Staying at Surchin's End isn't like staying at any other vacation house (at least not like any we've been to before). It's like staying in someone's home - a beautiful, clean, comfortable, totally well equipped home, inspiring inside (all the amazing artwork) and outside (what a view)! The location is perfect, with easy access to the Schoodic Peninsula, Acadia, and we even made a day trip to Campobello Island. Mark and Dianne provide all the information you could possibly need for hiking, eating, shopping, birding etc. Awe inspiring scenery everywhere, tons of wildlife and a quiet relaxed setting away from crowds. A perfect vacation.

This cabin is beautifully decorated, clean, and very comfortable. It was also fully equipped with everything we needed. The photos and listing information are completely accurate. The owners were extremely helpful with providing information about the area and and the cabin (as well as spur of the moment assistance).

We enjoyed cooking in the nicely stocked kitchen, playing games in the evenings, playing ping pong, and sitting on the deck. We spent quite a bit of time exploring the Schoodic Peninsula and sitting on the rocks watching the waves since it was so beautiful and quiet there. We also enjoyed Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park but the cabin and Schoodic were great places to enjoy relaxing away from crowds.
