We have owned this little slice of heaven since 2000 and have used it for many different purposes. You will love it, too, as a weekend retreat for you, your family and your friends. Don ‘t forget church groups, bunko groups, cycling teams, PTA groups, college reunions, craft groups …we’ve had them all! Have your Aggies and your Longhorns meet you in the middle – might be the only common ground they have.
It’s a great home base for the Round Top Antiques Fair in April and October, training rides for the MS 150, as well as the Saturday night during the MS150 itself. There is year-round antiquing in the surrounding towns.
The four bedrooms feature King/Twin, Queen/Twin, three twins, and two twins. The King and Queen rooms have private baths, while the upstairs twin rooms share a bath. The whole house offers charm in its original wooden and beadboard walls, long-leaf pine floors, and old wavy glass windows. But the modern amenities are what you’d expect at a premium vacation home – central air and heat, stainless steel appliances, gas cook-top, upgraded bedding and pillows, satellite TV, DVD player, outdoor kitchen with granite counters and stainless grill and griddle. The professional décor is quaint, with antiques mixed with modern comforts. Inside dining offers seating for 12 at two tables, plus outside dining at the huge farm table in the outdoor kitchen.
The best part might be the wraparound porch with ten rocking chairs, 1950s glider, and wicker club chairs. Or the six Adirondacks on the patio beside the outdoor kitchen.
Lots of room to work on projects or just sit and soak up the central Texas views. We know you'll love it as much as we do!
What a beautiful, serene ranch you have. All 8 of us have made lasting memories - lounging by the fire pit, cooling off in the pool, and enjoying the solitude. Much laughter was had, and we all wish we didn't have to leave! Thank you for opening your beautiful home to us.
We loved the house and it was an easy drive to Roundtop for the antique fair. The only complaint I would have is that the out door grill was dirty so we chose to cook our steaks inside. It would have been nice to cook them on the grill.
Everything about the house is great. The pictures really don't do this place justice. We spent a long weekend with mothers and kids and loved every second. The pool is perfectly placed so guests that want to be around the pool but not in the sun have shade from the oak trees. My kids ran around with no shoes on the entire time. The two bedrooms down stairs are large and there are plenty of linens and pillows. Truly is a perfect place to unplug and unwind. We'll be back next year.
loved the amenities of the outdoors Pool, fishing, and grill. Wrap around porch was very peaceful and great for naps
Our wedding party stayed here. Even though we had a ton of rain, the property was in good shape. It was so peaceful and relaxing, great for the wedding stress. We loved seeing the horses, the deer, the cows. The fire pit was great after a long day. Everything worked in the house, it was clean, cute, well maintained. I hope to go back for an anniversary trip. My only complaint was that it was too short of a stay and wish it was available from a Friday to a Monday.
This property was idyllic from beginning to end and top to bottom! The area is serene and scenic, with multiple outdoor vantage points to enjoy it from. Well maintained and equipped historical home, extremely comfortable (beds included) and high end charming all around.
Accommodating and spacious layout for the 7 of us. With the beautiful horses around, the sweet resident cat, wonderful fire pit and outdoor dining, not to mention the fun antique seesaw and perfectly placed yard swing, I could still go on with praises!
And the cherry on top is a responsive and efficient owner to work with!!
Restaurants and antique shopping in Fayetteville, La Grange, Bellville, Round Top, Brenham, Sealy, Columbus - all less than 30 minutes away, Golf at the Falls golf course in New Ulm, rocking on the porch, walking around the property, walking around the area, cycling on the rolling hills.
