Certainly a home away from home! Susan & Jim certainly make you feel welcome, from the coffee &tea basket, water in the fridge & popcorn in the microwave on arrival & a special thank you gift.
House was well kept, very clean & well stocked.
Great area, lots of places to visit Not too far away. We loved sightseeing all day then returning home to a quiet dinner, rocking on the porch watching the deer, the sunset then the fireflys while enjoying a cocktail & some laughs. Sue & Jim are nearby but were very non intrusive, just an email away.
Brand new, beautifully furnished with good electronics in a location that is both remote and peaceful but central to local attractions. We watched deer play on the front lawn every evening, watched the sun set and admired the dark, star filled sky and visited the local potter. During the day there were the Greenbrier attractions in Lewisburg to the East, the New River Gorge and Lake Summersville to the North and the town of Beckley to the West, all about 1/2 hr drive. This is a "keeper".
My wife and I along with our two fur babies spent almost two months as guests at the Star Song II. Location is a good central point between the nice Bridge area of Fayetteville and the lovely resort area near Lewisburg, WV. Jim and Susan are excellent hosts and took care of us by providing a nice, new rental home with housekeeping, snow plowing, advice on the area, and good conversation. The neighbors in the area were very nice and helpful as well, assisting us with issues from dog recovery to backing our trailer up the long driveway, and jump starting our car! This was our first visit to WV and we were pleasantly surprised at the beauty of the area and the nice folks who live there. This place is a nice getaway if you wish to stay in a beautiful country place (where deer and willdlife are bountiful) and still have modern amenities such as Directv and Satellite Internet.
My family and I had the good fortune to stay in this brand new property as the very first guests. I stayed in the adjoining property in October of 2011 and said I would be back. Our family made our Thanksgiving in West Virginia at Star Song II and it was a wonderful stay. Everything in this new house is high end, from the beautiful bathrooms with custom pottery basins, to the well-appointed kitchen. We particularly enjoyed the cozy sunroom, which is well-insulated, and the feeling of being in the woods while curled up on the couch reading a book. Susan, Jim and Wolfgang the dog, are excellent hosts. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will keep this get-away on our list of favorite places to stay.
Walking within the forest, white water rafting nearby, sledding on property.
