Sunset Island 7 is a luxury, beach-themed bayside townhouse located in a gated community. This five-bedroom, four and a half-bathroom townhome has a balcony overlooking the picturesque bay. This unit is the perfect place for you and your family to call home for a week! Sunset Island 7 is one of Ocean City's finest vacation rentals.

The bright, beachy living room is furnished with comfy couches, bright red chairs, and a television. The glass-paneled door allows plenty of natural light to brighten the space. Next to the living room is the fully-stocked kitchen with a wide counter top, just right for grabbing a quick bite. Just past the kitchen is a large dining area, so the whole family can enjoy a meal together. Also off the kitchen is the half-bathroom. Upstairs, you'll find four of the bedrooms. Most of these bedrooms are a child's dream! The master bedroom has a king-size bed, a personal television, and a private bathroom. The second bedroom has a double bed and a personal television. The third bedroom has a twin bed and a personal television. The fourth bedroom is a loft and has a pyramid bed, a personal television and sitting area, and a private bathroom. The third full bathroom is located in the hallway. The bottom-floor den doubles as the fifth bedroom and it has a suede couch that doubles as a queen-size bed. The fourth full bathroom is also located on the bottom floor. This property comfortably sleeps up to ten people, so bring the whole family!

Unit 7 has the following amenities: central air conditioning, indoor and outdoor pool, kiddie pool, private beaches, sun deck, island cafe, interactive fountain, gym/fitness center, walking trail, security guards, three parking spaces, garage, five TVs, four DVD players, free WiFi (at Club House only), cable TV, full-size washer and dryer, ice maker, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, stove, disposal, dishwasher, and an outdoor foot shower.

Fun date; wouldn't want to marry her.

We got the text to check-in and picked up the keys. We arrived to find the cleanup crew still cleaning up. No worries, we took a walk and came back. The unit was "clean" and smelled of cleaner which was fine. As we moved in we found food under / behind the furniture. Again not a big breaker but for the money we spent, we'd expect a bit more.

The condition of the property reminds of a foreclosure purchase with the goal of getting income as soon as possible. I took pictures of every room / furniture as there is quite a bit of wall damage / dirt / scratch marks. The furniture as the other review stated is very dirty and old. One of the kitchen chairs was broken and unusable. There were tears in screens, carpet stains, bath towel rod pulled of the wall, and so on. Just a general lived in, unimproved unit. Sort of disappointing.

The bed on the first floor is a pullout. However, there are missing springs in the bed so you have to use the 2 small tables to hold up the mattress. Also, there is no seat cushion - there are 4 pillows instead covered by a blanket. We had to use this room and made it work, but really, this was not acceptable.

The location is great although no real bay views. The canal is pretty and quiet. There is no porch cover on the deck so the afternoon sun is too hot to sit outside till the sun drops a bit. It is around the corner from the store, so that was good.

We had a good week and the unit met our needs but really this is not the Sunset Island quality I've been used to. I hope the owners / managers update the interior and give the customers what they pay for and expect. I don't expect a rebuttal per se, but in case further information is needed, I have pictures of every room.

Also - I may get asked why I didn't call to get things fixed. I'm on vacation - I'm not waiting around for busy contractors to show up, I have things to do. These things should be right when I get there.

Owner's Response: We apologize the condition of the unit is not up to standard. We will absolutely speak with the owner about doing some updates and renovations. Properties sometimes take a beating over the course of the season and we ask our cleaners to report any major problems. Otherwise, we assume the property was in acceptable condition. However, we have begun sending our maintenance crew to do an extra inspection, as the cleaners do not always tell us everything. Unfortunately, this is more difficult in the summer, but we are looking into hiring our own inspector. Carpets do tend to become stained by the end of the season and we do not have time to do a full carpet cleaning between each rental. Typically, carpet cleanings are done at the beginning and end of the season, unless a request is made or a carpet becomes particularly bad. The same goes for deep cleanings. The cleaners do a general maintenance cleaning between rentals, like you would weekly in your own home. We encourage them to be thorough, but many times they are in a hurry to finish by 3:00. This is something we are addressing with them as well. Lastly, if you call for maintenance or another cleaning, you do not have to wait around for them. We provide each contractor and maintenance person with a key and your phone number (with your permission), so they can let you know they are on their way (you are welcome to meet them there or continue enjoying your vacation). We work with well-respected and trusted companies who do their job efficiently and leave you be. Again, we can only address what we know is wrong. That being said, we appreciate your detailed feedback. We take customer complaints and suggestions very seriously and do everything in our power to make each guest happy. This is not to serve as a-- how you put it-- rebuttal, but rather an apology and explanation on how we are resolving the situation. We do sincerely apologize and will share all your concerns with the owner. We want all of our guests to have a comfortable, positive experience. We would love to have you back!

First time experience

The place was beautifully decorated with a spacious kitchen. The kitchen did lack cooking supplies which made cooking meals difficult. The furniture was worn and dirty. We had to clean when we got there because there was animal? food on the floor. Overall we had a great time.

Owner's Response: We're sorry some things about your stay were below standards. We require all our owners to have fully-stocked kitchens (pots, pans, dishes, silverware, basic kitchen appliances). If you could tell us what was missing, we will gladly have it replaced. As for cleaning, you are always welcome to request a reclean if necessary after you check in. We try to ensure all our units are clean, but sometimes things happen. That particular property was used by the owner before your arrival and they requested to do their own cleaning. Obviously, they dropped the ball. We do apologize, however, for the condition it was left in. We are happy you had a good time otherwise.
