Overview

About the property

4 bedroom (sleeps 8-12) built to be the ideal getaway

This open and airy contemporary is set back in the lush park like setting of a lovely neighborhood overlooking the Narragansett Bay. It is a private oasis that comfortably hosts an extended family within minutes of beaches and shopping. Although with all the amenities at the house, its often most fun to just stay home and play.

The front welcomes you with wide decks that are the favorite spot for coffee and soaking in the sunrise over the bay. Walking in the main entrance greets you with two story windows with views into the large private yard.

Turning into the fully equiped kitchen with cherry cabinets, top of the line appliances and expansive Italian granite counters. This is an open and bright kitchen that attracts sitters and makes the heart of this home a chic and inviting place where everyone will love to spend time.

An enormous rec room off the back of the house is where people will often congregate. Vaulted ceilings with walls of glass and an expansive stone fireplace. There is a full size pool table, 60 inch plasma tv, bluray dvd and Wii. A long table is perfect to keep a group puzzle going through the trip and a full sized refrigerator in the corner limits your walks to the kitchen.

Stepping out the great room sliders provides peeks into the large and private yard with an acre of meticulously landscaped grounds that border open space.

The large terrace runs the length of the back and steps into an outdoor living space with fireplace and fully equipped outdoor kitchen. Stepping off the terrace reveals the fabulous 14 foot deep swimming pool with diving board. There is a tournament quality ping pong table, a foosball table and another beautiful seating area. This great outside space includes a cabana with the conveniences of kitchenette and shower.

Inside and out, this fun and inviting home will comfortably host your family within ten minutes of Narragansett center and fifteen to Newport.

We test drive this home often to make the home a great experience for friends and family to share. We feel its an ideal venue to bring family together for a number of days. Whether your up for a competitive game of ping pong, an impromptu game of billiards or a chat on lounges around the pool, getting people back together is what this home is all about.

So come experience a glass of wine under a blanket of stars watching over lights on the Newport Bridge. This is a wonderfully fun place to spend a little close and quiet time with the ones you love.

For those interested, we ask that you only inquire if you understand that this home is meant for families who wish to enjoy a quiet and peaceful environment. The house is very fortunate to have reasonable neighbors surrounding it and, in fact, they are what make the neighborhood so beautiful and peaceful. We ask all renters to respect the neighbors and understand that the neighborhood is their home. This is not a 'party house' and there are rental rules. So please carefully consider if this quiet property is the right one for your vacation. Thank you for understanding our requirement to only rent to guests that can respect the sanctity of the neighborhood's peace and the fact that the neighbors are not on vacation.

Narragansett Ordinance: The town is encouraging families as renters by stipulating that only 3 people can be unrelated to the renter, all other guests must be relatives of the renter.

About Greenley Properties

We bought this house as a 3 generational family so we can enjoy a few weeks a year together.

Greenley Properties purchased this house in 2011

Why Greenley Properties chose Rhode Island Coastal

We have vacationed in Narragansett for years and always viewed houses while here. When we walked through Horizon, everyone felt the extended family would be comfortable in the space. The rec room with pool table and 60' hi def tv, the large pool, multiple seating areas inside and out gives everyone places to share and still find a quiet place to read.

And we always stay amused in Narragansett. It has great beaches for the little kids, kitesurfing beaches for the older kids and sporty adults, and typical New England downtowns for shopping and hanging out. Horizon is 10 miles from Newport, an hour to Foxwoods and Mystic Seaport, slightly longer to Boston.

What makes this house unique

The backyard is truly an oasis. The kids will have a blast diving into the 14' deep pool. Lounge by the cabana, read with a view of the bay, or eat by the garden. This house has 3 decks and 2 yards - plenty of space to play together or in separate groups. in 2013, we will have an outdoor kitchen and living room.

Graduation weekend stay

  • 4 of 5

Long weekend for URI graduation and glad we picked this location. Robin was very responsive every step of the way and the house is so well equipped. So much to do without even leaving the house. Weather wasn't great for using the pool bug it certainly is a spectacular feature, also fully equipped. Outdoor space is incredible. Very pleased with our stay.

The house was very clean and spacious!

Our family enjoyed the rental as we celebrated my son's graduation from NAPS. We utilized the outside kitchen and enjoyed some great seafood. The large kitchen and family room was a great bonus. The house was perfect for our family and I highly recommend it!

This house has WOW factor galore!

  • 5 of 5

We have been fortunate enough to rent this property twice in the last 2 years. The house has an open, airy feeling with great views of water or landscaping from every window. The cathedral ceiling is a wow! The cozy leather couches in the living room and the new sectional in the recreation area are also wows! We enjoyed the outdoor fireplace since we visited in April. There is a magnificent pool with pool house for the summer season. We like to cook and entertain our friends so we really appreciated the two dining room tables and gracious kitchen facilities. At night the pool table was the center of attention. This house has it all!

Fantastic Family Vacation

  • 5 of 5

Four generations of our family (ages 9 months to 86 years old) got together and rented this house to spend a week 'at the beach' in Narragansett in July. The only problem was that we quickly realized that we had everything we needed for a perfect family vacation right there at the house and we didn't spend one day on the beach! We were all happy to hang out at the pool and lounge, swim or just relax on a float. The outdoor kitchen was amazing and allowed us to cook out for many of our meals in style. We also ate all of our meals, including breakfast, outside on the patio to take advantage of the gorgeous back yard. We did eventually venture out to dinner at some local seafood 'crab shacks that we thoroughly enjoyed...Monahans, Champlins and Aunt Carrie's (best fish and chips). The house itself was open and roomy and the family room is perfectly situated away from the rest of the house so as not to bother the sleeping kids when we had lively games of pool or when we were playing cards. Robin is super easy to work with and communication is timely and very friendly. I would highly recommend this house to anyone looking for a great relaxing family vacation and we hope to return sometime in the future.

Owner's Response: Hi Gail, To think that the house itself ended up being the highlight of your visit is truly wonderful! The backyard has always been one of the greatest features of the house and we are so glad that you enjoyed it to its fullest during your stay. When the weather cooperates it is tough to think of a reason to go elsewhere with the pool, patio, outdoor fireplace, as well as ping pong and foosball! Although we are happy that you did manage to venture out a bit, it would be a shame not to explore Narragansett and Newport! Thank you for taking the time to write a review and we can't wait for you to visit us again! Robin

Everything you could want.

  • 5 of 5

This property is a perfect home to host a family gathering. The kitchen is well stocked, with the chefs in the family cooking most meals We did not lack for any equipment that we needed. Grilling at the outdoor BBQ was especial fun with the sitting areas around it and the refrigeration to keep the beverages cold. The seating for dinners could be inside or out with seating for all eight of us at nice big tables (no crowding in to fit). With the layout there is plenty of places for the two year old to play and quiet areas for two month old to relax. The family room is situated away from the main sleeping area so that the evening billiard competition didn't disturb anyone's beauty sleep.

The outside area is a dream. The pool with all the towel and pool toys is perfect. The umbrellas make it convenient to read or nap in the shade, not missing any pool fun. The lawn is perfect for Bocce competition, playing catch with your dad or sitting on the patio watching the fun unfold. Outdoors ping pong and foosball competitions entertain the adults for hours. The fireplace area is a great place to relax and share the day.

The master bedroom is just that, a hugh bedroom with a great bath and walk-in closet. The other upstairs bedroom have great dressers and big closets so you are not tripping over all the stuff you brought. The bathrooms are well stocked with towels, soaps and shampoos.

Working with Robin was a dream, I had a thousand and one questions and she was always quick and thorough with her responses, maps included. The home is close to The Roch for groceries and fresh fruit and vegetables, pharmacies for those things you forgot to pack, and Brickley's Ice Cream for an afternoon treat. This was a perfect home to celebrate retiring from a career after 38 years and new additions for the family.

Owner's Response: It's incredibly satisfying to hear! The family owners are very dedicated to this house and are constantly making improvements to make the experience of staying at the property as wonderful as possible, for themselves and for their many renters. So glad you so thoroughly enjoyed your stay. The foosball is a new addition this summer and a great compliment to the other activities (ping pong, pool, yard games, board games) so being bored is not an option! Your review is very much appreciated by myself, the family, and future renters! All the best, Robin
