I rented this property for a number of months whilst working in Los Angeles. On the evening of my first night, my wife and I enjoyed the most beautiful pizzas (outside in the very romantic and secluded rear patio) from one of the best restaurants in the city - which is literally 5 minutes walk away. It was the beginning of a very pleasant stay.
Other amenities like groceries etc. are a short drive away, and of course Melrose Ave, brimming with shops, bars and restaurants is extremely close.
The house is fantastically presented, the decor is restrained and not garish - and all appliances we used functioned fine. It was very clean and well maintained. Naturally being there for a prolonged time, the odd issue would crop up - but when informed the owner was always quick to respond and resolve.
I'd recommend this property not only for short term visits as it well positioned to check out all that Hollywood had to offer, but also for anyone such as myself needing a restful retreat on a longer term basis.
I look forward to returning some time!
Great place, close to everything you need. Very quiet, quaint neighborhood.
We stayed at this properly the whole month of February 2016 with our 10 month old daughter and really enjoyed it. Judson was friendly and helpful over email and quick to respond to any issues that we had.
The house is just as described in the listing and has everything we needed. Since it was built in the 20s, the water pressure in the shower wasn't very strong, but it wasn't a huge issue for us.
The house is situated in a quiet and family friendly location, close to coffee shops, supermarkets, parks, library, restaurants, and we would definitely stay here again. We highly recommend it!
Comfortable, easy place to stay. We thoroughly enjoyed the property. The garden is a lovely extra space.
Overall the house was good - lots of space, comfortable beds and large rooms and the location excellent. The downside was the kitchen. We had one son with us and another who lived in LA came to visit with his wife, so we wanted to do quite a bit of home cooking. However, as most of the kitchen cupboards were locked, what there was available to use was limited. In fact the cutlery looked like it had been bought from a Garage Sale and the handles on some fell apart. Also doors that lead out to a lovely outdoor area were locked as well. So it's a good home for a family, but not quite as homely as I'd have liked and found in other places. On a positive note, we had a friendly point of contact who met us on arrival late at night and dealt with the WIFI going down very promptly.
This was our third time using HomeAway in the Los Angeles. We were once again very pleased with the home we rented. We were visiting our daughter who lives close by and this is a wonderful location within walking distance to restaurants and bars, Hollywood Blvd.and a very short drive to the grocery. The home is roomy with a lovely back patio (very private), and a nice little front porch to have coffee in the morning. Irene, who checked us in was very helpful and friendly and there are parking passes and a garage so you don't have to pay for parking. The only negative thing I have to say is that we ran out of toilet paper while there are were told we needed to purchase out own--it seems like for that much $ they could provide all the paper products you need. Despite that,we will look forward to renting this home again!
