About Patty Squires

This is such a beautiful area where my children and I did a lot of camping when they were small. One of my sons settled here after going to UNCA where he met his wife.

He found this property for me, and I bought it just from seeing the photos. There was a small house and two out buildings that he completely rebuilt, and since I love making a warm and welcoming home I decided to rent the 2 out buildings for weekend vacationers.

Patty Squires purchased this cabin in 2005

Why Patty Squires chose Asheville

The property is very unique with a large, natural pond and small mountain stream. A dock over the pond, deck surrounding the cabin, and fireside seats and benches provide quaint comfort to enjoy the views and bask in the beauty of the inspiring Blue Ridge Mountains. There is so much tranquility here and yet you are only minutes from downtown Asheville.

What makes this cabin unique

I knew I had made the right decision to retire here from the first time I stepped onto the property. It just felt like the home I had always dreamed of.

Perfect little getaway near Asheville

  • 5 of 5

This cabin is an excellent little hideaway. The location is great, close enough to Asheville to be an easy drive (or Uber ride) but still pleasantly remote feeling. Check-in and check-out are super simple. The property is a tiny house that is basically a bedroom and kitchenette and bathroom with a roof over it, which was perfect for us. There is also an adorable patio and pond that we couldn't fully enjoy due to the cold. Would recommend this for couples on short trips to Asheville.

Adorable little cabin. Perfect for the weekend.

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay in this adorable little cabin. Perfect size for the two of us to get away. Had everything we would need for a couple nights. The shower was surprisingly big for this little cabin. Thank you Patty for a great weekend. We could come and stay again.

Attention to detail was superb.

  • 5 of 5

Little details normally not provided were all there despite the small size of the property. Toiletries, snacks, paper plates, even a bottle of wine! Needed a plastic grocery bag and there it was under the sink. Shows a level of hospitality that's outstanding.

Great spot for all the mountains have to offer

  • 5 of 5

I rented this cabin for my brother and sister-in-law. It was a great location because it feels secluded, but is close to downtown Asheville. My brother joked that this place almost convinced them to live in a tiny home! Also, the owner seems very sweet and responsive to any needs.

Cozy and Relaxing

  • 5 of 5

We were very comfortable and relaxed in our cabin. The room was clean, bathroom and shower were fantastic. We spent every morning on the deck drinking coffee and enjoying the ducks visiting the pond. Close enough to downtown Asheville and easy access to the Blue Ridge Ridge Parkway make this the perfect spot to stay if you need to get away and unwind. I can't say enough about our experience other than we will stay here again on our next visit to Asheville.
