Classic cottage built in 2011 located in 2.5 acres with 600 feet shorefront overlooking Partridge Cove, close to Acadia national Park, Bar Barbor and Ellsworth.

The 2-story house offers two sea view bedrooms, two full bathrooms, a spacious living-room and a well equipped kitchen. The rooms are large, furnished with the warm decor of family pieces. All furniture is antique, fruit of Italian artisanship imported directly from Italy. All the bed linens and towels, as well as the table cloths come from Italy too.

The place is enchanting: the woodland and its inhabitants will keep you company as you watch the tide and the sun setting.

It’s the perfect place if you love nature and wish to relax and enjoy a short break; It’s also ideal for those who love swimming and cycling, kayak and bird watching.

This house is our dream and we’re happy to share it with you.

Further Property Description - garden & shorefront: The woods cover about 2 ½ acres of land with beautiful maple trees and pine trees. Wild flowers embellish the landscape with their colourful, graceful movements. A garden sorrounds the 2 floor house with deck chairs available to enjoy the quiet of nature at its best, finally a shorefront of about 600 feet is waiting for you !

Further Property Description - home 1st floor : On the first floor you will find a bedroom with two full beds and a wardrobe which has direct access to a full bathroom with shower and tub. The bedroom gives directly onto the garden through a huge sea view window.

A garage is at your disposal in case of need.

Further Property Description - home 2nd floor : On the second floor you will find an open space kitchen with a granite-topped counter and dining -room: the round table, which can seat 6/8, stands directly in front of a bow window from which you can enjoy the view of the sea and of the woods. This comfortable open space area gives directly onto a large living-room with a (king-size) bed sofa and TV set, two European style armchairs and two sliding doors opening onto a large terrace with chairs and small table to enjoy the evening breeze.

On the same floor you will find a master bedroom with a charming antique Italian double bed and a dresser in the same style, a large mirror and a closet. A glass door gives direct access to the terrace and a large window completes the room. There is also another full bathroom with shower and tub. In the corridor you will finally find a closet with a washing-machine and dryer.

Quiet, relaxing stay in beautiful home on water.

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this comfortable and tastefully furnished, newer home at the height of fall colors on Partridge Cove. The house was immaculate and set back from the water's edge, yet the waters of the cove were very visible. We enjoyed watching the ebb and flow of the tidal surge along with the clam diggers at low tide, and the abundant wildlife on the water and in the woods. We were even greeted by a friendly skunk while driving up the long driveway after dark. Deer, waterfowl, squirrels, birds of prey, and even turkeys were spotted in the vicinity The woods were brilliant with Fall colors on display.

Walking through the woods just above the water is easy as much of the debris and low hanging branches have been trimmed. There are also inviting benches and chairs from which one can overlook the water. One can also walk the beach at low tide, although it's a bit muddy, so older shoes or washable sandals work best. Stay off the tilted slabs of rock, as these are slippery after the tide goes out.

We had good weather on nine out of our ten days, with only one windy and rainy day and night, during which we stayed at the house all day and relaxed. The rest of the time we traveled and explored much of Down East Maine from Lubec in the North to Camden in the South, and a lot of scenic Acadia National Park. All destinations were easy drives and none too far away. Bar Harbor was a pretty little magnet, although somewhat crowded, but full of good shops and restaurants as well as the interesting Abbe Museum. We also took Andrea's advice and visited lovely little Stonington on Deer Isle, which we very much enjoyed.

Provisions were readily available at several large supermarkets in nearby Ellsworth as well as Bar Harbor. We did quite a lot of cooking in the modern, well-stocked kitchen.

Thank you so much Andrea for this wonderful experience. Also our thanks to Jen, although we only spoke with her once by phone as everything was in perfect order and fully understandable. Thank you also to Home Away for facilitating our memorable stay in Lamoine.

Lovely property, wonderful location, scenic!

  • 5 of 5

This is our second stay in this beautiful home. The interior of the home, the beauty & tranquility of the property, cannot be described. Sunsets over the waterfront are like nowhere else and the trees and wooded environment combined with that waterfront location provides peace & beauty! The owner has made this home a beautiful experience. The interior décor is unique and welcoming, & the exterior is wonderful with perfect accents, flowers and an overall invitation to "make yourself at home!" Andrea and the manager, Jen, were constantly available and gracious. Weather conditions would not impact your stay as everything that you need or would want is available and the scenery is breathtaking!

Charming house, secluded

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was just as pictured and we enjoyed our stay. Since we were there the last week in October we could take advantage of the view as the trees were losing their leaves. Well equipped kitchen and laundry facility on main floor. We arrived mid-day and it was spotless. The home felt very secluded. Entrance to Acadia Natl Park was only 30 minutes away. From the master bedroom, at night, you could lay in bed and see the stars because of all the windows.

This trip was sort of "last minute" so if we had wanted to go whale watching or catch the ferry, we were out of luck. Even a lot of the restaurants were already closed for the season. Having said that, we still had a wonderful time. The owner mentioned making a drive up north to Lubec (about 2-1/2 hours) and it was beautiful. You can walk right up to West Quoddy Light house. Roosevelt's summer home is there - and it closed a week ago but you could still walk around the outside.

Don't forget to make the drive to Schoodic Peninsula - another beautiful coastal drive - about an hour from the house.

It was fun to walk the gravel sand bar over to Bar Island at low tide. There's a mile hike (one way) out to the edge of the island with great views of Bar Harbor Island.

People talk about Trenton Lobster pound. Well it was closed for the season but they have a shop in the back and we bought our own lobster and boiled/steamed them ourselves. The guys in the shop were great - very helpful when it comes to picking out the right lobster. We are from Kansas and Oklahoma and this was all new and exciting. I'd read about Rose Eden Lobster so we went there our first night. It was Sunday and getting ready to close down. And surprise, it would be their last night open. Lucky for us they were open Sunday. Rose Eden is a take-out for lobster or picnic tables are available if you want to eat on the spot. We picked out our lobster, Rose Eden boiled them and the corn on the cob. Bought their homemade blueberry pie (very good) and they let us take the tin home and said to drop it off the next day or two. Very friendly people.

The house was pretty easy to find - be sure and follow the instructions you get from Jen. After two trips we had it down without using her instructions. The GPS in the car couldn't get us there but WAZE on the cell phone worked great. Would stay at this house again in the future.

A week away

  • 5 of 5

What a nice refuge this property is after a long day of exploring. The house is fairly remote which allows for a completely private and quite setting but not so far as to make it inconvenient. We enjoyed seeing deer, turkey and even a porcupine while en route to and fro. The house is beautifully set on a peninsula with good water views. It was fun watching the tide change and how the water fowl reacted to the changing tides. At night, there is no light pollution so THE STARS!!!! are amazing. The property was spotless!!! I must say that this is probably the cleanest place we have ever rented. The beds were very comfortable. Jen, the property manager, was very responsive and helpful. The only negatives I might add, which are very minor, are: There are no shades on the master bedroom windows. Even though it is remote, I still didn't care for this. Paying via PayPal was a little uncomfortable for me. It worked out fine and my deposit was returned the day after we left. A welcome note and a welcome bottle of wine would have been a nice touch but certainly not required. I would stay here again and would recommend this property.
