If you're looking for a classic Maine lake cottage experience then you will be blown away

My wife and I stayed here for the last week of June 2017. All we can say is WOW. What a neat place. You are basically living on the lake. From sitting on the dock eating lunch, to by the lakeside fire pit at night, to the sun room with 180 degree lake views, you really feel like you are living on top of the water. The lake is literally 2 steps from the back door. The property is perfect for quiet relaxation and is very private even with neighbors on both sides (the neighbors we met are very pleasant and friendly so that was nice too).

The cottage has everything you need. Just bring your clothes and linens and enjoy everything the cottage has to offer. Kitchen is well stocked for cooking and the lobster pot fits plenty of lobsters and steamers. The gas grill is nice but we went old school most days and bbq'd with charcoal in the fire pit. Bring lump charcoal or buy it while you're there if you're into bbq'ing. The pit has a really nice and large grate for easy cooking.

The dock was perfect for my boat with a secure tie up and nice rub rails. The fishing was fantastic. I did catch a few bass from the dock but out on the lake is top tier bass fishing. It's an amazing natural lake and the water was so clear you could see bottom in 20 feet of water.

My wife and I agreed that we will never stay in a different property on Lake Cobbossee. Nancy is a very pleasant and gracious owner and the property speaks for itself. Absolutely perfect rustic cottage that is well stocked and very clean. Thank you Nancy for a perfect week!

Quiet and peaceful

  • 5 of 5

This was our third time at this rustic cottage and the view from the sun porch never gets old. We spent many hours just staring at the lake and it's wildlife, and enjoying the quiet. The sunrises were magnificient too!

Best Vacation EVER!

  • 5 of 5

Our first Maine vacation was by far the best destination in over thirty years of vacations together. My husband and I loved everything about this cottage, the lake, and surrounding towns! Nancy's home became our home for a wonderful week!

The view is breathtaking. Sitting on the dock looking at the views & listening to the loons was breathtaking. Our family of 4 were very comfortable, it felt like we were home. Very clean, lots of space. Nancy was extremely nice & helpful to us. The town was very close so we had lots to do. But mostly we enjoyed the peacefulness of the lake & cabin. The kids loved fishing every day all day. Great family trip. Thank you Nancy for giving us many great memories of your wonderful place.

A charming lakeside cottage!

  • 5 of 5

Nancy 's cottage is the perfect lakeside getaway. Lots of comfortable places to sit, read and enjoy the lake. The screened porch is just two steps from the cottage dock and both are wonderful places to sit and watch the world go by. The campfire ring and Adirondack chairs were the perfect spot for nightly marshmallow roasts, overlooking the lake. The fully equipped kitchen and gas grill allowed us to cook in when we felt like it. The spacious bathroom and spa tub made for some lovely baths. And the views of the lake from the living room, eating/family room, screened porch and second floor study are beautiful. And then there were the loons.....we enjoyed a week of loon visits to the dock, loon fishing expeditions up and down the lake in front of us with a new loon chick along for training, and wonderful nighttime and early morning loon calls. A kayak comes with the cottage and our two teenagers spent hours touring the lake and its many islands, fishing poles in hand. Extra bonus -- robust wi-fi good enough for streaming movies and trolling the internet. A wonderful spot and a beautiful cottage! Thank-you, Nancy, for sharing your lovely home.

Fantastic cottage on picturesque Cobbossee Lake!

  • 5 of 5

What a great vacation spot! This cottage provides beautiful lakeside seclusion while being a short drive away from great dining and activity options. The deck is steps from Cobbossee Lake where you can canoe, swim, and fish. The cottage is well-appointed and clean, and the communication with the owner prior to and during rental was great. A real winner of a cottage for those interested in spending a relaxing week in Maine!
