What an amazing house, hands down one of the best houses our family has rented. The location was in a lovely neighborhood easily accessible to everything the cape has to offer. A day trip to Martha's Vineyard, a short drive to Provincetown, the beach, Arnolds for the best lobster rolls, and let's not forget all of the ice cream shops! The backyard was like heaven, reading a book in the morning with a cup of coffee, the kids enjoying making s'mores in the fire pit and the adults relaxing in the hot tub after a long day of exploring the various Cape towns. The movie theater was perfect for the family to gather and enjoy a movie in the evening after dinner. The layout of the house provided plenty of space for everyone to spread out and the kitchen was perfect for preparing meals and just hanging out together.

Working with the owner was fantastic, she responded promptly to any questions and proactively sent helpful information to us prior to our arrival. You can not go wrong with renting this house!!!!

Thank you Susan for the opportunity to rent your home our family made wonderful memories that will last a life time!

Fantastic house, we've already booked it for next year.

  • 5 of 5

This is the second year we've rented a place on Cape Cod for a family get-away. The last place was nice, but not set up exactly how we wanted it to be - our group is three couples and one child so we really need three rooms with double beds or larger, and one room for a child. This house really met our requirements. The bedroom configuration is great - each Master has it's own separate area and the two other rooms are also down a small corridor (though the corridor will get used by people going down into the basement). So lots of privacy. Our other requirements were: central A/C (which this house has, apart from one master bedroom which has a window unit), no pets, quiet street. This house hit all our requirements and then some. The kitchen is great, and so are the rest of the common areas, very clean and fresh. The outdoor spaces are large and well maintained. We didn't use the hot tub, but someone came to clean it while we were there so we're sure it works just fine. We used the fire pit almost every night. Next year, we plan to try to get someone to deliver some firewood so we don't have to keep running to the Stop and Shop. The gas grill worked nicely.

If I was asked if anything could be done to improve the experience, I would offer two things: First, a couple of cotton blankets in the bedrooms would have been nice because comforters are kind of heavy for the summer. Second, a few comfy chairs would really help livability in the second master ( the one with three beds) and the room between the dining and living rooms. But this would just be icing on the cake for us - we loved this gorgeous house so much we're already looking forward to going back next year.

I also wanted to mention that the owners are very responsive and helpful. We already received our security deposit back and we just left the place 5 days ago. The week was a great experience for all of us. Thank you!

So Dreamy!

  • 5 of 5

I literally gasped when I walked into the house; it was far beyond any vacation home that I expected! The house was so large, and had something adorable about each room.

That kitchen was fantastic, and so much fun for cooking. The showers were amazing and so was the outdoor lounge area. There was plenty of space for everyone to relax comfortably without feeling like we were on top of one another.

Whenever we finished exploring the different towns, I was so excited to come home, knowing that it would be ultimate relaxation. There was nothing missing, whatsoever. I loved this house so much, and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great getaway!

One Of A Kind

  • 5 of 5

There are no words to describe my family vacation at this house other than we can't wait to go back next year. Everything about the house exceeded all of our expectations. The inside and the outside of the house were extremely meticulous. House was a close driving distance to Skaket and Nauset beaches. The Media room in the basement was a true gem and we enjoyed watching movies every night after a day at the beach. The kitchen was amazing and we used it several nights for family dinners. House had plenty bedrooms, bathrooms, and general space for 12 people. I can't think of one negative thing about this house. Highly recommend this property to anyone.

2nd Year and still a great place

  • 5 of 5

Our 3 families have stayed at this house the past two years in July and really enjoyed ourselves. The layout is great for adults and children with plenty of space for kids to play during poor weather or down days. The kitchen has everything you need. The house is separated nicely so that each family has an area of their own which is convenient/necessary with smaller children. The downstairs movie room is great for everyone, especially on poor weather days. Adults and children alike enjoy the outside patio and nice back yard. Ice machine in the freezer has trouble keeping up with daily demand so additional bags of ice are necessary. Convenient to everything including beaches, shops, and restaurants but in a nice neighborhood so you're have plenty of peace and quiet.

Owner's Response: Thank you for the great review! We enjoyed hosting your group again this year for your Cape Cod vacation. The ice maker in our SubZero refrigerator was found to be fully operational when checked, but with a large group it may necessary to supplement with bagged ice from the grocery if needs are not being met. We make available reusable ice packs for the beach coolers and an additional small beverage refrigerator for our guests as supplements. We look forward to welcoming you back next season if your vacation plans include a trip to the Cape! Susan and Paul

Great house, AC set to 74 degrees August in 3/4bds

  • 4 of 5

House is very nice and in a good location. I echo many of the sentiments from other reviewers. The theater was a very cool touch and Susan clearly put a lot of effort into the set up and hosting.

What made this 4 star (possibly 3 star) accommodations was that in 3 of the 4 bedrooms the AC was preset to a lowest temperature allowed of 74 degrees. When I contacted Susan to let her know that my wife is 8 months pregnant and we are all sweating as a result of humid August nights- her response was to open the windows. There were additional elements of cost watching not typically associated with a $5k/wk rental like a $50 dollar towel fee if not washed which seemed odd and consistent with the AC. (full disclosure-our full security deposit was promptly returned as we kept the house in immaculate condition)

Owner's Response: We are sorry that our home did not meet your expectations. We do have pre-set ranges for heating and cooling of this very large home which is in line with the research we did of other rentals making use of this feature. It prevents over usage and higher operating costs which would result in higher weekly rental rates. The cooling temperature to 74 degrees was acceptable for all other renters this season, many who stayed during weeks experiencing warmer temperatures and higher humidity. This guest alerted me to concerns about his pregnant wife and her discomfort with the Cape's humidity at 10 p.m. at night. I immediately responded and suggested she move to the upstairs bedroom which is serviced by a window unit and therefore reaches lower temperatures, but was told she did not want to relocate to that area of the house as they had a young child. I suggested the use of the ceiling fans to provide additional comfort, and when the guest continued to express displeasure I suggested that they turn off the air conditioning system and open the windows as the outside temperature was a cool 68 degrees.....thinking that would be more comfortable. Our rental fee includes all bed and bath linens (an added amenity generally not found in other area rentals who alternatively refer guests to private linen services for an additional expense). In the online description of this property available to all guests prior to their stay, we mention that as a courtesy we also offer the use of our personal beach towels and beach blankets with the understanding that if used, only those particular items needed to be returned clean for use by the next guests arriving later that same day. As there are two laundry areas in this home, it's our opinion this is not an unreasonable request and of course, the guests can opt not to use these items if returning them clean as found is problematic. Our cleaning staff simply does not have time during the limited turnaround period to wash those items in additional to bed and bath linens for 12 guests. There is a laminated tag next to the basket of beach towels and blankets stating guests are free to use them if they agree to our cleaning policy. We try our best to provide wonderful vacation experiences for all our guests and feel bad when guests are disappointed. We hope that future vacations to Cape Cod are more rewarding for this party. Sincerely, Paul and Susan
