About L and J Daly

We have lovingly restored the main house (1772) and grounds and have rented the cottage long term for over 10 years. Offering it now on a short or extended stay basis.

We are hands-on owners and experienced in the real estate management business for over 25 years.

L and J Daly purchased this cottage in 2002

Why L and J Daly chose Monroe

Enjoy the relaxation and views of the Schunemunk mountain ridge across the road but have all the modern conveniences and full use of a cottage while you enjoy the Hudson Valley. Choice of all NY City area airports.

What makes this cottage unique

Cottage is one- of- a- kind-probably built first before the main house. Our driveway was the original Clove Road and rumor has it George Washington marched his troops right past. The main house is also thought to have served on the Underground Railway to nearby Goshen, NY, now the county seat.

A little piece of history

  • 5 of 5

We had a very nice stay in the cottage. The character of the cottage was amazing. Very well stocked kitchen and nice sized rooms it was truly a home away from home. The home owners were very nice and friendly. We would definitely recommend staying here. Why stay in a hotel when you can stay in your own private cottage?

You can't go wrong with this one.

Take a step back in time to the 1800's with this ever so cozy, quaint, quiet retreat cottage nestled in the woods just off the main road. My wife and I just spent a very relaxing weekend there. We didn't want to leave. Very conveniently located to many amenities. We will certainly be back. Where is the 6 star choice option?

Owner's Response: Thank you for your flattering review for 6 stars-especially since you travel so much. Glad you both enjoyed your Autumn getaway- you caught the leaves at their best. We would be happy to host you again when you can enjoy the area a little longer-there is so much to do in even a 10 mile radius. But we do understand the urge to just sit and relax-the cottage encourages that.
