My husband is a former Mayor of West Palm Beach
Julie Moore purchased this cottage in 2012
Historic and quiet tropical area near the town of Palm Beach
This is my second review and I feel that the cottage and the area is my home away from home. The owners are wonderful people, easy to communicate with.
It's so cozy and clean, also close by to many wonderful restaurants and shops.
I'll be coming back soon I hope.
My friend and I were in town to run the marathon. Julie's suite was just what we needed - self contained, quiet, clean, and private. The weather didn't really cooperate while we were there but that didn't stop us from a cloudy day poolside lounge and dipping our toes. Even though we didn't see a lot of Julie during our stay, our overall communication with her was great - she's very efficient, responsive and incredibly accommodating. Thanks again for everything!
As Florida residents, we rented the cottage as a romantic weekend getaway within a couple of hours of our home. This cottage is clean, cozy, well stocked with amenties and in a great location! We tried the Sunset Bar and Grille based on another persons review and loved the fun, retro vibe. Think 70's disco music, ABBA dancing queen, etc. fun lighting and a great outdoor bar area. City Place was a fun place to visit as well as Antique Row and Culpepper and Sons Nautical (think "pickers" for boater/marina decorators) with cool finds from old cruise boats, ships from all over the world. The pool is lush with beautiful landscaping, a great paradise escape, well maintained as was as perfect temperature. Although the owners home windows face the pool area, they respect your privacy. Julie was personable and easy to work with. We are hoping to stay again the next time we go to West Palm Beach.
This was the sweetest little cottage ever. Owners were amazing and did everything possible to make us feel at home. Went overboard on making sure our every need was met. From helping with directions, to loaning us a cooler for the beach, you name it they were always willing to meet our needs. We got to know the owners and could not say enough good things of them and their son. They were both entertaining and were sure to give us our privacy. Our 8 year old made a new best friend with their son and can't wait to go back. The pool and patio are impeccable and perfect for relaxing night after a full day at the areas many beaches. Definitely would recommend this fantastic little cottage and the hosts hands down. They made our stay all the more enjoyable.
Very well cared for cottage . It made a great home base for jaunts to various nearby beaches and towns. Perfect place for two. Loved the sounds of the distant trains. Bed was a bit firm for my back, but managed fine. Excellent value and lots of privacy. Had a wonderful time!
Tip o' the cap to our host couple. Booked this cottage at the last minute, and they could not have been more accommodating. Our plane was late. He stayed up late to see us in. The cottage is perfect for a couple. We had plenty of room. Loved the eclectic decor, and anyplace with original art on the walls. The pool is heated, relaxing and well cared for in an old Florida manicured garden. Perfect for a pre-dinner cocktail.
The best reason to stay here is the spunky/retro neighborhood. within a 5 minute stroll are terrific restaurants, art shops, This Is It Cafe for breakfast, a world of friendly, artsy small business owners and neighborhood patrons. The Sunset Grille is a must for dinner!
I urge you to stay here...so much nicer than a chain hotel and box of a room. One caveat: the trains run at night close by. They don't rattle your cage or anything, but they toot their horns a lot. (It's a noble sound...like heralds trumpeting victory, not a stopper...but be warned. And you hear these horns up & down the Palm Coast anywhere Mr. Flagler laid his railroad tracks.). Only reason I don't award a fifth star. But a very fair price. Book it now!
The Palm Cottage is located in a historical neighborhood called Old Northwood. Private one bedroom, one bath and a fabous pool. Walking distance to the intracoastal waterway. Minutes from the luxurious Palm Beach where there are pristine beaches, Worth Avenue, Flagler Museum and great restaurants.
