Are you the kind of person who just feels better when you can look at the water? The kind of person who feels calm just thinking about the soft waves slapping the sand, and the distant sound of seagulls?
Don’t just think about a great beach getaway—live it. And live it in the comfortable elegance of a fully restored Victorian in one of Galveston’s oldest neighborhoods.
The Gulf Lady in Galveston is located just 1 block from the beach—you can see the sparkling Gulf from the home’s upstairs porch. Just as lovely is the view of the spectacular Galvez Hotel, located just two blocks away. Walk to the hotel’s famous brunch, or schedule some alone time in their spa.
Despite its great location, there are lots of reasons to never leave the house. The Gulf Lady is a turn-of-the-century charmer with lots of period details. Pocket doors, hardwood floors, clawfoot tubs, and gorgeous stained glass are just some of the surprises you’ll find in this lovely home. The welcoming entranceway is painted in the same shade as the Galvez’s lobby area—a wonderful nod to the home’s close proximity.
But this house isn’t stuck in the past by any means. You’ll love the modern updates—including a chef’s kitchen, central air conditioning, free wifi, and flat-panel televisions. You’ll feel comfortable whether you’re relaxing in the family room, visiting on one of the home’s multiple porches, or lounging in front of the luxurious pool.
The house sleeps up to 10, with three bedrooms upstairs, a queen-sized flexsteel sofa bed in the living room (there is a full bathroom downstairs for any guests with mobility issues), and a comfortable daybed/trundle on the upstairs landing. In addition, we provide a pack-and-play for our younger guests.
We are pet- and smoke-free, to accommodate our guests with allergies.

About Barron Lozano
I manage the property for the owner, my mother. She is a retired Veterinarian and former US Merchant Marine radio operator. She loves living by the ocean and sharing her home with the many guests who have come to visit from around the world. Our family has had many happy times in this home and we hope that you and your family and friends enjoy it as much as we have.
Barron Lozano purchased this House in 1998
Why Barron Lozano chose San Jacinto
My parents wanted to live near the ocean. They also were interested, from the start, in owning an older home with character and history. Our home is 110 years old and fully renovated. They added some new touches after purchasing the home and added the pool a few years later. It is a very homey place with lots of "old world" feel, all while offering the comforts of a modern home.
What makes this House unique
The high ceilings, original floors, and woodwork and touches (such as the stained glass windows) make the home a special place for us. There is plenty of room to spread out around the house. You will love the upstairs porch, where you can curl up with a book or just hang out and look out over the water. The backyard is inviting, with the sparkling pool and the long porch. My family lives in Houston and we always enjoy getting away to our home in Galveston. Our children have many happy memories of their time with Mooma and Pawpa. We hope your family will as well.

Darling property in the heart of historic Galveston!
Threw my own birthday party and rented this incredible property for the weekend. Hosted 9 women, with 7 of us staying overnight. We were more than comfortable and had plenty of space. I rented sight unseen. But what a wonderful surprise. First, there is ample parking in the driveway and on the street--not easy to find in historic Galveston. Next, the house has been updated, but not at the expense of its original character. It is very clean and well maintained. The smart thermostats kept us comfortable in the daytime and wonderfully cool at night--and we never had to touch a thing. The balcony off the upstairs master bedroom was perfect for our morning coffee. I underestimated the pool in the back yard, but it turned out to be an unbelievable treat after a day in the heat. And what a convenient location--we walked the block or so to the seawall and then a couple more to the Pleasure Pier, the starting point for an island tour, and several great places to eat. We never got back in our cars once we arrived, until it was time to leave. Every one of us loved the place and would go back. Anyone choosing this property is sure to be pleased. It is exactly as presented on line, including an owner/manager who is easy to work with. I can hardly wait to go back.
Beverly, we are so glad you enjoyed your stay at The Gulf Lady. We agree that it is very comfortable and charming. Our family has built many memories inside its walls over the years. We look forward to welcoming you back very soon!
Let me start by saying how awesome the host was. We had a snafu with another rental agency which left us without a place to stay one week before a big working weekend. Barron so kindly agreed to let us rent from her on such short notice and for a weekend she would not normally rent out. The home was absolutely gorgeous! The kitchen was just perfect, though it only had a Keurig coffee maker and I only brought regular coffee. The owner, sweet Dr. Billie, came a couple of hours later to deliver a coffee maker. I could have talked with her for hours. The bathrooms had everything you would need. Soaking in the claw foot tub was a treat. The bedrooms are large and very comfy. We even attempted to get in the pool because it was still 90 degrees the first week of November. Still a little chilly in the water. Overall, it was a relaxing and stress free weekend. I will remember the "Gulf Lady" for future ventures out on the island.
I am so glad we were able to accommodate you. I’m glad you had a great visit and we hope to welcome you back to The Gulf Lady again soon.
The Gulf Lady
Really cool house. Felt at home the entire time. Very close to lots of area atttactions.
Loved everything about this property! Great second story deck with ocean view! Loved the pool, and the interior, which was spacious and had a cool atmosphere!
We are so glad you enjoyed your stay in our home! We hope to welcome you back soon!
The location is just minutes away from everything to do in Galveston. The pool was great after a long day at the beach.
Stayed at the Gulf Lady for a girls weekend. Absolutely loved the location. The house is truly a " Lady" we enjoyed the home and the pool. We were able to walk to the Seawall restaurants and shopping. Would definitely rent again. Our only negative was not knowing the schedule of the handyman who came by to water plants and clean pool. He was completely respectful so it wasn't a bad problem it just would have been nice to know.
Beautiful, comfortable home! We loved every minute of our stay at the Gulf Lady!
This is a wonderful home for family reunions, girls trip or just a get away. The bedrooms are very spacious and comfortable, the bathrooms were nice, the back porch is wonderful and the pool is a perfect size. Can't beat the location-close to beach and all the restaurants! We will definitely stay here again. Barron was so helpful and easy to work with.
